I was trying to be charitable. Also, he never seems to sprint, he just runs at 3/4 speed

Nigel Farage says "drink 5 pints of beer, smoke a packet of fags and jump in the nearest river"
-
Remember to drink plenty of water in the hot weather 👍

What about Long Hot Summer, featuring Weller (Paul, not Keith)? Dennis Howell was the most successful minister ever as the drought ended a few weeks after his appointment. He was later made Minister for Snow. Please let me know if you want any more trivia (like where the word "trivia" comes from)
-
It was a very hot and dry summer. A special Minister of Drought was appointed

AB 4 PM. I'd like Ed Miliband to continue as Energy/Net Zero Minister. He seems very motivated and is doing a good job .

Which war? WWII, Korean War, Falklands War, Cod War?

Cambridge South railway station will be opening soon. Looks good in the photo. If only I knew how to post a link 🙃

Don't forget DNA profiling🤓 -
A simple and cheap option would be for schools to break up on 25-30 June, while getting rid of or shortening half-term holidays and shortening the Easter and Christmas holidays. Obviously, that wouldn't avoid the problem of heatwaves in June or of heat problems in hospitals at any time.

Is that Benny Hill and Syd James I can hear tittering?

This is a serious comment. If I were his manager, I would send him to a clinic to have his eyesight (especially his peripheral vision) and his short-term memory checked. It seems to me that he either doesn´t see opposition players standing about 5-10 yards away to one side or, if he does, he immediately forgets that they´re there. If there is no problem with his eyesight or memory, then he is just not very good at playing football.

Mr Yaxley-Lennon and his pals are deluding themselves if they think that support from Trump is beneficial. Most European leaders, including those on the centre/right such as Merz and Meloni, have realised this, are getting braver and are distancing themselves from Trump.

Perhaps Burnham will team up with the Happy Mondays to record.......... 24 Hour Labour Party People

I remember us playing Bournemouth on Boxing Day, in two different seasons -
At the moment the only cliches being used are "plotting" and "swoop". When it changes to "transfer coup" I´ll get interested
-
Thanks for posting that. I´d forgotten about that referendum. One PR system that is used in many countries, and has been used in the UK, is the D´Hondt system. It´s not 100% proportional, but is fairer than FPTP. It slightly favours bigger parties and those whose support is concentrated in small regions. For example, a party receiving 40% of the vote in a region would get around 45% of the seats
-
If PR ever gets introduced (I think Burnham is in favour), it MIGHT boost voter turnout. It is the fairest way of deciding elections. If it was in use in the UK the current government might well be a Lab-LD-Greens coalition People can´t trot out the line "I´m not voting because they´re all the same" when the choice ranges from the Greens to Reform
-
And apathy. The most important by-election for many years and more than 40% of the electorate didn´t bother voting, despite the very wide political spectrum of the parties.
-
You are now Minister of Music If you don´t like that, you can tell me to Fac off
-
The greatest puzzle is why they signed Ayew and BDCR. They play in similar positions, their best days were in the past and both were going to have zero transfer value even before the end of their contracts.
-
One advantage that he has over the current PM is that people seem able to spell his name correctly.

Almirón covers his mouth and says something (in Spanish, probably, so a Turk almost certainly wouldn't understand) and gets sent off. What would happen if one player told another to **** off in, say, Czech, without covering his mouth? Nothing? -
Perhaps in the future we'll be able to go to Uranus for our holidays
