Chelsea (H) 23rd November - Pre-match Thread
Guppys Love Child replied to Trav Le Bleu's topic in Leicester City Forum
I agree with you...he has to try something different...... But he won't.. and I have a really bad feeling about this match, really bad. -
Oh joy, It's like opening a box of chocolates to find only 3 rancid coffee flavour left. RvD is, if we really admit it, untested, and currently evolving his manager's CV. To early. Potter. I'm probably in the minority here, but I just don't get the hype about the bloke. I appreciate that survival is paramount, but IMO his brand of football is bland to watch, and has hints of Todgers and Puel, which apart from being a potential Snoozefest, I still maintain doesn't mesh well with the players we have available at the club (possibly with the exception of Vesty) Moyes. Best of the left coffee chocolates. Not exciting, but at least we will have an idea, an identity, and a matchday strategy on the pitch, and hopefully the defence will be shored up a bit. Ok he'll make us into West Ham, but with the players at his disposal I think we would slowly creep up the table. Cooper on the other hand will just keep on doing the same sh1t.. which we can all see is working so well.
-
And we all know that's not going to happen. I agree with you on both points by the way. The owner and the board have shown that they are P1$$ weak in these situations and whilst it's "plain as day" that its not working on the pitch, and that nothing has really changed from our crap pre-season to present date, and is unlike too under Cooper it's infuriating that they are so blind to what's actually going on, and what they need to do. They obviously haven't learnt from the "Todgers" fiasco.
-
I don't hate Cooper, I just don't rate him as a manager, and for the good of the club he needs to do one.
-
Taylor is a close'ish second Rodgers...never will I forgive his antics.
-
No.. not from me, The accolade of most disliked manager in LCFC history will always be for that little 'C yoU Next Tuesday' Rodgers. I truly despise the odious narsasistic dwarf.
-
Exactly! I've said this all along, you need someone with at least some technical ability to play at 10.
-
Just revisited the fixtures list and to quote the Black Eyed Peas 'I have a feeling' Cooper may just hang himself. We have run of 6 very tough games, and if using our recent less than stella performances against arguably the weakest teams in the league as a yardstick (because the incompetent clown can't and won't change, and he's not suddenly going to have a complete change of direction) I really do struggle to see where even a point from a sneaky draw is coming from. People are clinging onto some hope that Man U looked ropey against our "B" team in the cup, but due to Cooper being clueless and out of his depth they still put 5 past us. But its the following fixtures that truly scare me. So for my sanity, I'm going to suck up the pain, and whilst I'll feel sick with the sh1t results and for a spell expect "nil points" I'll console myself that once we hit bottom 3 the board will get an itchy trigger finger and sack the bozo. As I don't think they will want a repeat of the Rodgers debacle..
-
Spot on. That's my take on it also. But i think we all.knew it was going to be a survival season, and whilst it's cr@p at the time making 17th or above is all that matters in the grand scheme
-
I think we can too. But it's whether this clown of a manager will set us up correctly, with a game plan and reactive subs that actually work and play to our strengths.... It pains me to say it but I just don't see him doing so and we will revert to playing catch up in the 2nd half after going 2 nil down in the first 45 Mins
-
Good analysis, and your match breakdown of what we "could /should have" achieved I pretty much agree with if I'm honest. But I'll still stick with my original statement that with better management, tactics, in-game adjustments, sub, etc we would have had a bigger points tally than we currently have. I don't dislike Cooper personally, but think we should part ways from a performance level, Not just from an under performance to date, but going forward as well. We stick a better chance of success and a better performance return from our players under someone else. I appreciate this is all a load of "if , buts and maybe's" with a very heavy dose of personal option, but I don't see him changing or adapting any time soon and neither will the inconsistent result.... But they could do.
-
I can see your point, but for me it's also the fact that Cooper is woefully under achieving with the players at his disposal due to him just being not good enough. (This annoys me greatly) Taking your hypothetical point of having 11 or 12 points by now, and bearing in mind who we have played so far, it is IMO a realistic points haul with a better manager with this team. Others have posted that until we hit the bottom 3 he's going nowhere, sadly I think that's true. At a guess his remit when joining was "just keep us up" and love him or not, hate his style of management, agree with his identity-less brand of 'hand brake on' football, he's doing that. Don't get me wrong I'm not defending him, I want shot of him ASAP, because as I've said he's suffocating our performances with what's on paper a pretty good team.

Southampton vs Leicester (A) - October 19th
Guppys Love Child replied to 420Hashish's topic in Leicester City Forum
I think you are right. One sh1t team and the other one under performing with a manager too scared to let the handbrake off and play the best players. Having said that it wouldn't surprise me if we lost with this clown in charge. -

I think that's echoed by the vast majority on here mate (myself included) but it will never happen with Coopers fascination of having 1 winger dropping inside, and Ndidi being on the pitch in the x3 DM's he insists on starting with... All of which has worked so, so well as our points tally and league position currently .... oh, wait. -

But we do.....him. And I fear the first part of your post my friend is sadly correct, or pretty close to it. "Insanity is doing the same thing ove......" .Yes we all know the saying. -
Will The Board Ever Admit They Might Be Wrong?
Guppys Love Child replied to Parafox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Spot on. Most at the ground still see it as a "good day out", whilst us so and so's see it a whole lot differently and we are sadly in the minority -
I wouldn't take EnzoBall even though Cooper's tactics aren't working. IMO our team still isn't good enough to implement EnzoBall too be truly affective, add in the fact the pace of the premiership and the lack of time on the ball I think our current players wouldn't cope or seriously struggle. I think if we all noted down the starting 11 for the Gunners and also stated how we think we should play, it probably wouldn't be anything like Cooper sets us up to play and decides who he actually picks. We know he's going to do the same or very similar to most if not all our the past league matches... and as our current points tally and no wins as of yet show. "It ain't working me duck". First he needs to acknowledge this, (at present I don't think he does or wants too ) then show some flexibility and intelligence to change something and somebody. I feel our squad is better then our resent results and points gained so far suggests, and it's just being under utilised and poorly managed. He needs to ship up or ship out.
-
I've been a supporter 35 plus years and if Southgate became our manager I too would have a sabbatical for as long as he was at our club. Definition of a clown in it's quintessential form.
-
Arrr yes 3 not 2. My mistake... Still not brilliant thought. He as our manager is still failing, even with the extra point I forgot..
-
I think others have already touched upon the fact that it's highly unlikely that Cooper will suddenly have a change of heart with regards to his dubious team selections, his defensive negative set up, playing Fatawu and Mavididi on opposite wings at the same time and Ricardo actually setting foot on the pitch, all of which we deem are needed for our fortunes to change for the better, (we have been isolated glimpses of these "required amendments" and we do look and perform better during these spells) so what's the point in waiting another 5 or 6 games and eeking out a point or two when we need 6 or 7 playing under the constraints of Cooper management that so far yielded 2 meagre points...

'Wise Words'. 🤪

Thanks for clearing up the Potter release part, I wasn't aware of the true facts 👍 I agree he is a far superior manager to Cooper, and certainly get far more out of this squad. I still have reservations about the entertainment factor and drab style of play... But hey, I guess the priority at the moment is 17th or better.
-
I wouldn't give Potter a 2nd Chance, as at a guess he binned us off possibly due to the then expected points deduction ( obviously doesn't back his own management skills then) and to save his reputed bumper severance package from Chelsea, plus I think his style touches on Southgate's, so whilst we would have a plan and an identity I think we would be flat and unexciting to watch. The one thing I do give Cooper some kudos for us accepting the job knowing the possibility of points being docked. I've given him the chance I asked others to do when appointed, and I'm sorry but he just doesn't cut it for me with his defensive, negative, 'scaredy cat' football. The club IMO took the free option, when they should have spent some of Marasca's compo money of getting Corberan..

Match thread - LCFC v Everton
Guppys Love Child replied to Jakemoore's topic in Leicester City Forum
I agree with Ayew making way for Fatawu, but I'd like to see what Bilal can do ( I must stress Bounanotte hasn't done anything wrong and would start for me if Bilal hadn't signed) -
