  1. Why... have you got one. 🤪
  2. I'm not sure l agree on your selection my friend. Coady, looked uncomfortable last night. Doyle, not convinced when he played, lacks pace. JJ for me all day Akgun, ok possibly but again not really pulled up any trees when played. Especially out wide. Nacho. Just no, terrible when on the pitch, offers nothing to the team at the moment. Give Canon a go from the start if Daka is rested.
  3. To the last 4 posters... Thank you for the backing, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks that Enzo Possession Ball is not the only option when we play.
  4. Good post my friend. I agree totally. I've slept on yesterdays result before posting, hoping I could come up with a more balanced contribution not fuelled by annoyance, so here's a few bullets, Yes the 1st half was ok, even though we did look a bit leggy in some areas. I personally believe it was a Peno on KDH, and finally the Subs were a bit, mmmmmm? ( see above) Here's my beef...... Why oh why try to control things especially when tired and play EnzoBall outside your 18yd box with Ipswich obviously having the bit between their teeth and being on the ascendancy. It just invites pressure for god sake. Yes it was a jammy double deflection of a goal but if we weren't so hell bent on 'passing the fvck out of it' all the god damn time as the only way we play. I must stress the option to just hoof it wouldn't have been the right play, but two or three simple quick and direct "FORWARD" passes out wide and get up the other end of the pitch and AWAY from our 18yd box, then EnzoBall the hell out of it if needs be, or better still continue to try and score a 2nd. But the most important thing is the play would have been away from our goal. Sometimes "less is more" when it comes to passing
  5. That's what you get for pissing around with it in front of your 18yard box.
  6. Correct... Give the lad a proper chance. Next to no actual match fitness, or sharpness, loads of games behind the others in playing Enzo's Way, oh and just getting over a fractured back, it's just human nature he won't fly into tackles. It's the same as our players that returned from ACL. Injuries, It takes weeks to get really up to speed... Even hamstrings take a month or so to adjust back to the demands of strenuous use once healed. (I know as I've done mine a number of times in the past whilst middle distance running for the Coritanian's on Saffron Lane)
  7. Mmm. I'm not so sure. Today's match to me felt different somehow. Certainly second half. Yes Plymouth helped by pushing forward and leaving space and also by being one of the poorer teams to visit The King Power. Others have mentioned they feel that our patient methodical build up style contributes to allowing the opposition time to get organised and set the low block ( something I've agreed and moaned about 🤪 in the past) Today we were noticeably more aggressive in our attacking, the tempo was up for longer periods, we appeared to not adopt the backwards and reset option as often. It wasn't a complete " Anti-Enzoball" set up as some have suggested, but it was a step or two away from Enzos preferred 'Possession and Control' mantra IMO, and I loved the fact we did it. I've b1tched and moaned about wanting to play something more like this and now want us to do even more, because... guess what it seems to work, ( I won't go and far and to say I told you so, but..Who would have thought it) and Yes I was the most entertained today than i have been all season. More next match please Enzo. Let's not give Millwall time to settle and get organised..
  8. I did say in another post that I appreciated the job Enzo has done so far in such a short period of time and he has my backing 100%, don't get me wrong I like winning and being top of the tree. Picking up the mess left by the “clapping dwarf“ and turing it around and also appreciated - but to brand me as whiny and entitled just because I'm voicing my opinion on whether I find us entertaining to watch is a bit unfair. We are boring to watch at times. But I'm also not the only poster on this forum to express the same view. Are those posters also Whiny and Entitled?
  9. I agree 100% here. Don't get me wrong. I'm a million miles away from being an Enzo hater. He seems a great bloke, and fully appreciate he's a new manager starting out on his career and he has my backing as our manager. He's been employed to pick up the pieces left by the odious little shiny tooth leprechaun, give us some stability, win matches and get us promoted ASAP, all of which he is doing. And I'm ecstatic of the fact he's so far succeeding in his remit. I watched the masterclass video and do understand it and to me it's most certainly wasn't like dropped smarty's on a table. But I guess my 'gripe' is that whilst it's obvious too us all by our league position that it's working, the style regardless of how affective it seems to be, for me personally it just lacks in the entertainment factor, and that if truth be told is as high on my list of attending matches as coming away with 3 points. Hopefully if we can wheel and deal in January ( squad size and outgoings permitting) a better calibre of player may be what's needed to really deliver Enzo ball at its finest and by the same token the entertainment may creep back a smidge.
  10. Good reply post..👍 (1st bold) and my turn to disagree a bit, only a smidge 😁 my take on it is that the number of matches where we play pass/control football spans further back than just the last match, but as I said that's just my take, and I agree they most probably have been given free rain as we have witnessed it on occasions, so here's a question to the forum, if Enzo had targeted players 'to take the man on' why do we see such instances of this so sparingly, we are hardly creating hatfull of chances from our wing play, cutbacks into the box have hardly been in abundance, Is it the player not being capable or his playing instructions to keep control of the ball with the team, by passing instead of 'marauding' so to speak. (2nd bold) I agree he's not unhappy when they do this. Which circles us back to 1st bold
  11. This is unfair (just quoting your phrase).. it was picked up by the commentary team as happening. Genuine question, could I ask, are you season ticket holder or TV watcher. I go and get a cold bum and see it the same as Richmondfox. We are negative, we do pass back far to much, ( and sideways) as if pre -programmed when going forward to not take a chance and loose the ball in favour of possession, (yes, yes I know, I know It's... The... System... Well, it's boring and it stinks) and to me our team looks like Enzoball is holding them back for the sake of control when the wingers needed to push on and well...be wingers Please don't quote stats or ball carrying figures to me, I have no interest in them, and to be honest figures can be presented to represent anything the presenter wants( I'm not implying you did this on a previous post but your internet source did ) I go and watch the game and if I see the vast majority from my seat are back and forward passes and more importantly little to no shots at goal then that's what's happened, not what an algorithm has popped into numbers trying to disprove what my eyes witnessed (and a slowly growing number of others posted have said similar to my views)
  12. Worth the expense for the 'gains' the fixing would give to the respective cup. OK fun over and back down to earth for me.
  13. Aarh good call. I suppose different texture on some of the balls could be another way. Smooth is a sh1t team and a rough texture is a "fixed" team
  14. I've often thought the same... Sometimes it just seems to go to be true, but if I'm honest I can't for the life of me work out how they would actually do it....
  15. But couldn't you also take from that, that we have the possession and don't really do anything with it hi-lighted by the low shot count. (Que someone now saying but it's process Enzo wants, being patient, looking for solutions blah blah. Maybe..... We are just passing for the sake of it) Melt down in coming 🤪🤪
  16. Ok. Possibly should have said tactics as well. Just to be flexible a bit more or adopt a hybrid approach to our play. Enzo has said this is the way we play deal with it( no don't take this a verbatim but his said stuff along those lines) and be willing to suspend the passing style for a more.direct approach or an occasional hoof. We've become predictable and easy to set up against, as 99% of the time we are going to play the same way. Let's keep the opposition guessing before and during matches if possible by switching things up and playing a different "style"
  17. Ok you are more than initialed to your opinion ( well it is a forum👍) but my final sentence was probably a key point to my post (and my posts in other threads) and maybe you could apply a smidge of tongue in cheek to the comment, but I do deeply think we need to mix up the style more and not stick so ridgeley to the pass the hell out of everything to 'find the Solution's' as per Enzo. I guess what I'm alluding too is that maybe we should try to create more of these breakaway situations and not use the passing bore fest as a only way we play.
  18. I agree 100%. First and most importantly I'm Happy as hell we won. ! But it was refreshing for a 'split second' not to see 23 sideways passes before going forward and scoring,Yes yes I know it's not the Enzo way, and yes yes we can't play that way all the time, but the irony is brilliant. I've never hidden the fact is dislike our playing style and the passing bore fest, we are subjected to, so a polar opposite style of playing resulting in the the winner makes the goal and most importantly the victory a whole lot sweeter. Just a thought...I wonder what with our attacking options would happen if we did it a whole lot more?
  19. Ok I can see where you are coming from with that. - just. But with regards to more passing, sorry, but any more sideways and backwards to the keeper (going by all of our games so far this seems to be our standard Modus operandi) and the opposition may as well just stay in their own half ( ok an over - exaggeration I'll admit, but you get my point)
  20. I hope you are right my friend. However.......
  21. Just stolen this form the press conference: Wednesday performance? “We lost today four games. We didn’t deserve to lose against Hull or Boro. For sure, we didn’t deserve to win against Sheffield Wednesday. We had chances but it wasn’t our best performance. It’s not about the changes. It’s difficult. It was not our best game. We need to improve many things. We needed more passes. Sometimes we were too quick. Abdul was shooting from his house. We need to be calm. Abdul is 19. If you ask me if we want two more points, of course, But the draw was correct.” Errrr. surely he can't be serious. I'd love to hear people's views on this . But if he tries to implement this thought next game .god help us.. sorry, any slower and we'll stop, any more passes and we'll never get out of our half and the ball up to our forward players to go and do some damage. I know it's how we play now, but I truly hate possession based football it's suffocating our players, it's tedious, as for a slowly growing number it's killing the enjoyment of watching us play.
  22. I don't know, I don't have the luxury of being able to ask him. (And no, you didn't ask a rhetorical question here, as you don't know for sure or can confirm with him either) (2nd bold point) all the better to expand his horizons then, explore and create his own true identity. My take on it is that, he along with Kompany are seen as 'Disciples of Pep' and are borrowing from his tried and tested style, tactics etc. which works with the literal Billions of pound backing he's had at Man City, and because he is the actual author of that style/ identity. Now I appreciate we can't offer Enzo the same financial backing, and yes he has had to deal with the fallout from the odious little creature known as Rodgers, but he needs to break away a little from the perceived 'teachings of Pep' and truly create his own style, yes use it as a loose base template but actually adapt it and sprinkle some Enzo flavour on it (just because it works for Man City and its what he knows and is comfortable with it is not a reason to dig his heals in and come out with statements along the lines of this this the style deal with it) and I don't think he's doing that at the moment...but who knows what will happen.
  23. I hope you don't come back. It would mean we have lost, and that's the last thing I want.
