  1. Yep. I'll take that starting 11. It's a shame EnzoBall will stifle them once on the pitch..
  2. Oh I whole heartedly agree.. Top has it stuck in his head that possession based football is what he wants for the club, hence you correctly pointing out the last 3 appointments. Who knows why... maybe he thinks "all the big and best clubs play this way" But after 2 and potentially a 3rd attempt and still not getting the desired outcome ,(or should I say stable desired outcome, before someone jumps down my throat with our FA Cup win, which IMO was the only plus under the little leprechauns tenure) he might learn that without the freedom of a blank cheque book it ain't all that great.
  3. I don't think there is ever going to be a perfect solution, as there are always going to be too many variables. It doesn't help knowing that the players we are suggesting are going to be shoehorn into EnzoBall regardless of their form and ability and suitability to this god awful system, and this is were mine and a growing number of others frustrations lie. If he'd show a bit of flexibility (I known it's a phrase we all seem to be saying recently) and tweak and adapt to the most inform players true strengths then, One. A lot of the fans would be a load happer. Two the opposition won't be expecting it. Three we may perform better and get the wins we sorely need. As playing to our strength and not 'playing by numbers' Four you never know, the entertainment level may rise a notch or two. Oh we can live in hope I suppose...
  4. Normally I'd agree with you.. But JJ is off the boil at the moment ( having said that he's not the only one) and Doyle does give is a bit more balanced and is a passing upgrade. If I'm being honest I think the crux of the matter is that at present the system/ setup doesn't really fit our current squad and certainly in its present dip in form. We got away with it early doors as it was new, unexpected, and the opposition was flummoxed by it at first. Then we got sussed, and due to Enzo being stubborn it doesn't look like anything will change on Saturday.
  5. You forgot touch up / dye his beard. Come on mate..keep up 😜 😜
  6. I hear what you are saying...but I've been making my feelings known of my dislike of EnzoBall way before Friday's horror show. He's a rookie manager...ok. But that didn't seem to bother or affect him (or others) when we were doing the business at the beginning of the season. I think the disgruntlement has been bubbling for a little longer then a week IMO, but some have kept quiet after seeing how some posters willing to call EnzoBall out have been told how wrong they are, that that have no idea about football and are just being lazy as they don't understand 'the idea" etc.etc. Friday, for quite a few by the looks of it, was finally the straw that broke the camels back..
  7. I agree with you with regards to this tempo, we are slow and pedestrian. However I think we are going to have to agree to disagree on the subject of EnzoBall being the route cause my friend..,👍
  8. Great idea, but my concern would be is that Cannon's playing style is similar to Vardy's. And however much I too would like to see him on the pitch I'd rather have the tried and tested version on. But spot on with regards to tactics and style. But there is a bigger problem still... ENZO and his EnzoBall.
  9. I agree. Its still mathematically possible so what do we gain But if he does continue to mess it up (highly likely) and we also fail to gain promotion via the playoffs, then that's a different matter entirely. Enzo's 'job' is to win matches and much like any of us in our lines of work, if our performance drops and we stop hitting our KPI's and also show nothing to indicate we can get back on target, we risk being sacked.. Its the same for him. The flushing of the points down the loo, the fact we are loosing more regularly now in the run in (polar opposite to the beginning of the season) should be concern's for his employer... The behind the scenes antics with the board will play a big part in his future I guess as it will dictate what we have "play with" next season. I just have a gut feeling he will walk. As what he needs for his idea to work, we as a club would struggle to supply next season. Whatever happens with promotion, he has a ready made excuse from the well known book "Excuses to preserve my brand". By Brendan "the fraud" Rodgers. Promotion = look how good I am even with all the upheaval behind the scenes, I'm ready for a new challenge..Giz a job someone. Championship= well not being backed in January even our only single target's deal fell through, I'm not a miracle worker. Blah blah blah. Either way, if he goes takes EnzoBall with him, and stops sending me to sleep in matches its a Yes from me.
  10. No. But Leeds haven't stalled due to EnzoBall being sussed out a number of weeks back, which, if a change / tweak in the system and tactics had been implemented to try and change the losses into draws and draws into wins and therefore adding to our points tally, and all but having us promoted by now. This has angered many. You also have to add in the personal and emotional side to people calling for his sacking. Because of his stubbornness to not even consider his system is fallible and requires adjustments and the arrogant quote (to some) if it's even questioned, "I'm off", plus chuck in the 'mini spat' with a section of the fans at the Norwich game when fan frustration was voiced, and the fact that he said he wasn't concerned with the team missing their chances. Plus others niggles you can understand why people have a get rid standpoint. I personally don't think we will sack him (imminently )as it's still possible to get promoted as I type. However if we miss out on promotion via the playoffs then that's a different matter especially due to the spaffing of the 14 point lead. In addition pulling the trigger now when it's mathematically there still all to play for is not a good advert to any potential replacements,. Remember how the media crusified us for sacking Claudio (warranted IMO) the season after winning the premiership.
  11. Mmmm. I think you are correct as per the posters here. But at the ground not so much, theres still a large amount of the 'it's a good day out at the football' contingent who see it differently to us lot. It will be interesting next home match against the Baggies to gauge the mood of the crowd if we have a carbon copy performance, team selections, setup etc of the last few games. If we are 1 nil down early on, or just lackluster and tippy tappy with little tempo and forward intent from the get go, the crowd may turn early. But if they do it needs to be evidently clear who it's towards...Enzo... not the lads being stifulled by EnzoBall.
  12. I'm pretty similar to you with regards to the overall post. Now, Puel and Enzo. Puel good with giving the youth opportunities.which I liked. Enzo has steaded to ship and got some great results at the beginning. 👏👏 But both with regards to the style i hate. Regardless of how affective it initially was or wasn't, It bores me. It lacks tempo, it's one dimensional and it looks like we are 'playing by numbers' Now.... "He who shalt not be named" on the other hand, it goes way, way deeper. It's a strong word but, I absolutely Fvcking HATE him more then any other manager . Ever Peter Taylor, Alex Ferguson (for the Man U preferential treatment they got) are nothing compared to my distain for the odious, clapping, notebook writing, narcissistic, backstabbing, fraud of a leprechaun.. (and I'm being nice here) His off the field antics of how he treated and disrespected the Fans, Players and the club as a whole, mark him out as, well a truly horrible human being, and if I was associated with him in anyway i'd be ashamed to admit it. He must make his mother so proud.. Oh and his football was boring too. Total C U Next Tuesday.
  13. I certainly hope so. And the fact previous lovers of EnzoBall, some who venomously defended it are now changing their opinion must count for something. However we can have a mass shift over to "Anti-Enzoball" here on the forum as much as we like, but we don't make the real decisions that actually change stuff, that still lies with the club. The only way things might charge is if it becomes toxic in the stands ( NO I'M NOT CALLING FOR lT, OR WANTING THAT AT ALL - sorry for shouting) questioning the playing style and "the idea" for all to hear. Do I think Enzo would walk after hearing it, no, I think his 'I'll leave the next day' quote was just arrogant bluster.
  14. And that ladies and gentlemen is his biggest problem in a nutshell. I've posted similar countless times. Even some of the staunchest EnzoBall lovers have hi-lighted that players in certain positions aren't up to the job and lack the technical aspects to make EnzoBall tick properly. But even though the hi-lighted part of Matt's post is just good old fashioned common sense to get the best out of any situation. It's not the way we play. It's not the identity. It's not EnzoBall.
  15. Yeah, maybe you're right.. But there have been one to many times where Ndidi has been in a good position at the end of a move and fuffed it. (Not really his fault, as his natural abilities are as a destroyer) Nacho maybe would have put it away? I don't know... I'm probably clutching at straws here, but I just want to win and bring home the 3 points .
  16. That was my initial thought as well when I originally replied to you, hence my comment about loosing the combative element from Wilf, which was Dahnsouff's concern as well I believe. No doubt Plymouth will sit deep in a low block keeping disciplined and not taking the bait to be pulled about by our "to me to you" passing bore fest, so probably having someone with a bit more Technical Guile in Nacho may work. Who knows..but we all know Wilf will be starting. The only other option I can think of is to start Dennis.
  17. Do you know what..the more times I read this I think it wouldn't be too bad a shout. My only concern is the loss of tackling / combative edge Ndidi gives us further up the pitch where Nacho lacks this element in comparison...but hey it won't happen as that would show a miniscule amount of creativity to tweak the universal wonder system of EnzoBall..and we all Enzos thoughts on that.
  18. The scary thing is...you are probably spot on with this, or a very large percentage of. Also the fact you can call this so easily means our opposition managers will be able to do so as well and have a plan to nullify our predictable EnzoBall tactics..
  19. What a stupid thing for Enzo to say. If you miss your chances you never score If you take them or at least make the keeper work you score or create some jeopardy in the danger area for defections, rebounds etc. Tango Whiskey Alpha Tango
  20. You are correct on all points my friend. I'm not Pro-Enzo and certainly not an EnzoBall lover, but the club won't sack a manager who has us up the top end of the table. IMO the fact that we stole a march on the others and gained a sizable lead (until we were sussed out due to the 'tactical predictably' of EnzoBall) has certainly helped his cause. Without the lead as a kind of buffer, the dropped points along with not gaining any points for the losses we've suffered our league position would be very difficult now.(Possibly around 8th?) Not having any dosh is a major factor for several reasons. First to pay him off, but also deep down he knows that for EnzoBall to work he needs a better quality of player technically, something that we can't supply at the moment. Add in the exidos of out of contract players , then the punishments from our transgressions ( which could be anything and muddy the waters greatly) it all paints a bleak picture, and one that I feel that a manger who appears only that he wants to play a certain way, that potentially will be hindered further with a bigger drop in squad depth and quality, and is also 'on a quest' to increase his managerial stock and any forward momentum just may not stick around and seek out a different project with better resources to achieve his goal.
  21. I agree, and posted something similar on several occasions a while back, but was basically told I was talking 'BS' and given multiple excuses about tired players, missing / injured players, coming up against " THE LOW BLOCK", Blah blah. All things that any half decent manager would try to improvise, adapt, and attempt to overcome. Some EnzoBall lovers have posted, in their opinions, that the No 8's and some other players in other positions are lacking the skillset and talent for EnzoBall to truly work and be effective during the matches. Quite possibly that is true, (or not) so, if fans have identified this possible flaw, also Identity and accept the fact Enzo, stop doing it, and look for an alternative . By some posters own admissions / observations, that we don't physically have the "required" players available at this point in time, or any realistic ability to obtain them, so common sense dictates if you don't have the tools or the tools are substandard to perform EnzoBall to is most effectiveness. Again Stop doing it, it's counterproductive, and instead of trying to shoehorn EnzoBall on the team "because this is how we play now" and 'woe betied anyone questioning it' or I'll chuck my toys out of the pram, instead show some flexibility and look for options to utilise the players we actually do have access to analyse their different and individual strengths and get the best out of them, whilst also trying to minimise the collective weakness' as well..... just an idea Enzo
  22. I whole heartedly agree..
  23. I agree totally. But Top likes Possession based football. Hence the appointments of Puel, the odious shiny toothed clapping leprechaun and then Enzo.
  24. After the long overdue sacking of " he who shalt not being named" I would have taken Peter Taylor back just because he wasn't Todgers. I've nothing personally against Enzo, he seems a pretty OK guy and he did bring us the much needed change, the breath of fresh air ,and the missing stability we sorely needed. So credit on that score.👏 However anyone reading the flavour of my past posts will know from day one I've never been a fan of EnzoBall. I understand the technical aspects and the overall idea, and at first (until the opposition sussed us out and adapted their style of play to try and nullify ours) I was happy with the results, any fan would be, but from 'day one' I truly hated the missing entertainment factor, the excitement of the match, which were IMO all missing as a byproduct of it's implementation. If I am being critical further, his perceived lack of flexibility to learn and adapt, added to his stubbornness to shoehorn EnzoBall in regardless of opposition or the actual situation in a match (i.e. 0-1 down with 5 mins to go and we still play the passing snooze fest and trying to implement the idea that hasn't worked for the previous 85 mins of the match) does frustrate me enormously. Good managers tweak to accommodate the oppositions strengths (our recent poor form is a proof of this happening to us IMO) Will we get promoted, I hope so, but not because of any brilliance from Enzo, as he won't change a thing. But the fact that Leeds and Ipswich will hopefully cock up and aid our cause Would I be sad to see him go?.. Nope, not at all, but unfortunately Top loves the possession based football style, so I fear he'd just be replaced with another Puel-Todgers-Enzo clone.
