Premier League 2025/26 Thread
fleshdaddy replied to OntarioFox's topic in General Football and Sport
Forest trying to splash the cash again it seems, what with the bid for Mateta and now it looks like they've bid £20m for someone at Brighton. -
Put nothing past this lot, but I doubt even Top would sit there during a planned interview and say "Yeah, Marti is going to be sacked." We can only hope it's a formality and it'll be announced later on today or tomorrow.

+1 on this. I've always had issues with my mental health, always been a bit up and down - but I started running just prior to the pandemic and to this day, it's the best form of therapy for me. I either go out and think about something, could be a problem at work or whatever, or I think about nothing, and either is equally as beneficial. And you won't ever arrive back to the house after a run feeling worse than you did before you left. It's impossible.

His interviews really piss me off as well. He uses so many words to say absolutely fvck all. I switch off instantly, so the players must do as well whenever he’s trying to give them instructions and tactics (lol). We are bad, but this guy is a total clown and if we get a points deduction and this guy remains in charge, we’re gone.

Premier League 2025/26 Thread

Schadenfreude maybe, but when Man City lost yesterday the BBC posted something saying that if Arsenal won, they'd increase the their lead over Man City by 'x' points or whatever it was, and Villa fans were kicking off asking why they weren't mentioned, despite them being on the same number of points as Man City, but saying things like "keep underestimating us", "I prefer us going under the radar" etc. Next game up at home against Everton and they lose -
Give it to King until the end of the season. He really won't be any worse than this guy. We might play half decent for one half of every game, so what's the common denominator? The manager. Get rid - guy is an absolute fraud.
-
Please sack this utter fraud this afternoon.
-
I find it odd that Bichette hasn't re-signed yet?! And I take your point on the Dodgers, but maybe players just want to win - of course, money is absolutely important and right up there in terms of drivers in their decision I'm sure - but also the chance to win, and going to the Dodgers basically guarantees that. In any case, roll on the season starting!

Wout to Monaco (loan with ~€8m option, official)
fleshdaddy replied to CloudFox's topic in Transfer Talk
Could be off to Monaco? https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2026/as-monaco-in-talks-with-leicester-city-to-sign-wout-faes/ A fall upwards... -
Any competent club or personnel, you'd like to think, would be busy trying to offload players that are out of contract in six months to, you know, at least try to get some money for them instead of them walking for free. I stress trying to offload the players, as I'd imagine it's no easy task but it's definitely possible - and if you do manage to offload one or two, perhaps you can then bring in one or two and freshen things up to try and mount a bit of a push for the rest of the season. However with us, the key word is competent. I bet we're just doing nothing and sticking as we are - with more assets (in the loosest possible terms) walking for free. Cheers Rudkin, cheers Top!

He's got more lives than a cat - lucky, lucky b*stard! Needs to go. We were so bad tonight and I still maintain that any half decent coach/manager would get a better tune out of us. Over half way through the season, where's the tactical style or philosophy? We look clueless.
-
Wonder whether Bournemouth were watching at the end there 👀
-
FFS. Keeps the cretin in the job for longer! It's Norwich away all over again.
-
Jesus Christ, this is so, so, SO bad. The worst I can remember I think.
-
Jesus Christ, Smith...
-
A half arsed performance would be a massive improvement, to be fair!
-
Sounds familiar to the Norwich game, when we got a last minute winner which potentially saved Marti. He isn’t good enough and has to go, pulling the odd result out of the bag - like he fortuitously did against Norwich - just delays the inevitable, and it’d be the same if we happen to beat West Brom tomorrow.
-
Ahhh, I didn’t see it was umpires call! At least we get to keep the review then - just assumed it was a foregone conclusion as looked plumb to me! And Bethell now gone. Same old story isn’t it - losing wickets in clumps.
-
What a pointless review that was. Plumb.
-
Will he make any changes at half time to try and change the momentum of the game? No, he'll make no changes and let the game drift aimlessly. Absolute clown and so far out of his depth.
-
Killing the club and it's only going to get worse.
-
New year, same old shit!
-
Surely you aren't expecting Marti to make changes at half time are you?! Are you mental?!
-
Over half way through the season now, it'd be nice to see some structure or way of playing. I see nothing at all, we're so poor.

Up early this morning for a 5km, barely anyone around - glorious!
