  1. I agree hence my dislike of him is contrarian. I usually can't stand the 'non league mate game's gone mate KPFC mate ticket office shambles mate non league mate' daily mail crowd and agree if City had Terry from the street in charge lumping it forward every chance, our wobble from Feb - April would not have got as much negative attention. However Southgate has somehow managed to turn a group of elite winners into losers. Man City, Liverpool, Real Madrid even West Ham!!!! have won things in recent times, these players can cope with pressure and have elite mentality. However they won't win a thing under Southgate. An average manager shouldn't be celebrated simply for YoY growth IMO
  2. One I'm happy to join all the middle aged daily mail moaners with, I am completely disinterested in England matches. Even had tickets for the game against Serbia on the Sunday but gave them up as I'd rather go to Munich earlier to enjoy the delights there in advance of the Romania game we have tickets for. Which would've been unheard of as a teenager as I dreamed of watching England in major tournaments. However I won't constantly profess 'England's gone mate' I will watch matches and vaguely hope they win. For me Southgate has lost all interest for me. We have on paper the greatest crop of players possibly ever? Subjective as that is I know. We are benefitting from our players playing under elite coaches like Pep and Klopp. Other nations are under historic declines (have Germany ever been this bad?). And absolutely nothing to show for it. Reminds of a competitor firm here. They have invested heavily in worldwide talent, they have an all star crop, they should be cleaning up the market. But they are happy patting themselves on the back because they are 9% up YoY, when they should be at double digit growth. Loser mentality.
  3. You’ve got a property with high quality tenants in situ that want to stay, you’re sitting on a goldmine. Advertise to BTLs only and say the tenant has an AST beyond the point of sale/explicitly state tenants remaining is a condition of sale
  4. Agreed, this sounds most reasonable. It seems they periodically release stories like this to assess reactions. If it’s only a load of ‘footballs gone mate ticket office shambles’ people it tends to proceed a bit. When the likes of lineker get involved it seems to shut up for a while
  5. Man Utd are a completely failed business, held together by a superstar CEO who had control and gravitas over all the operations. Once he leaves, no one knows what to do, as we've seen. Liverpool and Man City appear to be very well run businesses, can imagine the infrastructure is there for another manager to slot in and maintain standards. Much like Brighton for example
  6. Foreign office can go do themselves. Tories out. If we get Pyongyang away in the carling cup I’m going
  7. Not sure about security, it's football, ie a totally frivolous pursuit designed to entertain and deflect from actual life. I am not sure the hordes of city fan moaning about us being in the PL are insecure, they just want to enjoy championship football. Bragging rights is a key part of British football culture, think you're reading too much into/comparing it to real life which it is not. Financially absolutely the CL trumps everything. But again speaking as a non-rational football fan, the trips in the conference and europa league were a lot of fun. If I had a choice of European competition, I would pick conference league. I would relish the chance to see City in Kazakhstan or Moldova or Slovakia et al.
  8. Sounds brilliant, never been to Croatia, never thought about it tbh. Report back pls
  9. Surely any self respecting Spurs fan wants them to lose tonight. Yeh Ange can say what he wants, and I think he said it really well, but he's been there for a year and he'll be gone in a few years. Spurs fans will be left with a generation of Arsenal fans at WHL singing for 90 mins about how Spurs won them their first league in 20 years. It's surely a no brainer, LOSE. Champions league football is not that important.
  10. Ignore the up to 3 mins of var checks and concentrate on the talented football played by athletes on display tonight. I presume you didn’t watch the game, otherwise there’s no way you can come to this stereotype conclusion. Have you watched any championship football this season?! The players within the league are pot bellied weaklings. Vestegaard was pushing players around the pitch all season and didn’t break sweat. Let that sink in
  11. Surely you’re joking. As a football fan, how can you not have enjoyed 100 mins of committed attacking football from two teams of well managed athletes. And want to watch more utter dross played at 2 mph by pot bellied office workers like the playoff matches yday
  12. Got mine for about £40
  13. NYC and LA would be fun. Dubai is surely inevitable. Calendar will be USA and Middle East until that money train runs out.
  14. Stout and about: a Guinness pub crawl across London (archive.is) Decent read on the fashionable rise of Guinness. Akin to everyone drinking 7.3% strawberry milkshake margarita pizza IPAs in the early 2020s
  15. True. Get us out of euro 2024 as well
  16. I also think so. Sam Ryder was so close. Yes we brits stink up Europe every summer, but we pay a helluva premium to do so. Families literally save all year round to spend two weeks in france to read a book in a garden. Surely the hatred will end once the Europeans realise the value of our dumb £ spending potential, and we get some public votes
  17. The reason you were there gives you the answer. It’s a nothing game where the regulars probably couldn’t be arsed so gave their tickets to tourists like you. Spurs are locked into fifth and Burnley are relegated, but Frosty expected a venomous atmosphere?
  18. This week in jersey, with the extra bank hol on Thursday for liberation day, has been a weird distorted reality. It’s been actually hot and dry all week. Loads of locals have bounced off to their houses in Italy and France, the office has been totally dead. The streets are full of old uk and French tourists, all functionally dressed, backpacks, sun protection, water bottles. Lounging around drinking coffee, reading books, burping and farting with a general stench of bored middle class comfort. It’s like I’m on some sh1t European villa holiday
  19. I bought a ticket for that match! But with no further plans. Edinburgh is brilliant. Now you say it I may think again
  20. Figure out how much it’s worth and tell them you want 50% of that as a bonus per year, or you’ll nuke the bugger. Don’t tell anyone how it works. Employer owes you nothing and you certainly owe them nothing, take as much as you can and at no point appear happy with it
  21. Went at the end of august/start of sept two years ago. Loads of culture, museums etc. Have the Apple strudel in the famous cafe (can’t remember its name), see the orchestra. Bratislava and Budapest are near and cheap on the bus. I saw Austria Vienna play in the conference league, it was fun
  22. Same, got £25 on Luton going down
  23. Agreed, you need TV trained people to front TV shows, especially travel ones, to bring it to life. Romesh in Columbia, Zimbabwe, Antarctica was hilarious. Imagine if that was Daveo from Oldham! 'Mate where's the pool. Mate can I have a chill and read my book. Mate can we have a beach day today yeh. Lion... seen a dog just like that in Sardinia tbf'
