Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

Surely Chelsea and Man City get the book thrown at them based on this when their cases come to be heard. -
Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

taken from BBC Sport… Nottingham Forest will have seven days to appeal their points deduction to the Premier League. The response to the appeal has to be sent within seven days of that. A directions hearing to agree a date for the appeal to be heard will then have to take place within seven days of that. The absolute backstop date for the appeal hearing to be concluded is 24 May, which is after the final games. However, the guidance in the regulations is that ‘if possible’ it should be done a long time before 24 May and we have reached this point three weeks ahead of deadline so there is no reason why it should not be done before the final games. -

Yes quite possibly… Hopefully following Evertons successful appeal, the Premier League have been more realistic this time around so there is less for Forest to appeal. 4 pts doesn’t appear over zealous, as Everton effectively argued. -

Maybe the Premier League should implement a rule that if you lose your appeal the deduction is increased. Would put clubs off appealing and mean that it’s more likely these instances are solved during the season, rather than after the last game. Ie. If Forest appeal and their appeal isn’t successful, then the deduction increases to say 6 pts -
Would start relatively strong, and then utilise the bench for once! Stolarczyk Nelson - Vestergaard - Doyle Hamza - Winks Fatawu - Ndidi - KDH - Wanya Vardy Hermansen / Coady / Faes / Justin / Albrighton / Yunus / Mavididi / Cannon / Daka

I thought Everton’s 2nd charge and Forests have to be finalised this season. So won’t start next season on -6. Although nothing stopping them getting another charge part way through next season as well -

Imagine if we pulled the plug at the last minute. Would’ve screwed Everton out of £8m pure profit as well! -
Now looking at this in terms of the minimum we can get away with next season and still stand a chance of staying up. As others have said likely to require a number of loans and frees, and academy players stepping up. May also need to resign some players to save on transfer fees for new players. Although this will need to be on reasonable/ vastly reduced in Vardy’s case, wages. Ultimately I see it as 3 x new signings / frees? And 2 x loans? GK - Hermansen/ Stolarczyk/ Ward RB - Ricardo / Hamza CB - Faes / Nelson CB - Vestergaard (re-sign) / Coady LB - Justin / Doyle (re-loan?) CDM - Winks / (Sensi - free?) / Braybrooke CM - Ndidi (re-sign) / New Signing CM - KDH / New signing RW - Fatawu / New signing (loan?) ST - Daka / Cannon / Vardy (re-sign) LW - Mavididi / Alves / Wanya

Good point forgot Hall was an obligation to buy for this summer. As you say Broja and Gallagher likely to leave as well, so they will probably look to hold onto the likes of Colwill and Reece James as other academy players -

Will be interesting what happens in the first month of the transfer window. Lots of clubs will be looking to shift players by the end of June to count in the 23/24 financial period. Chelsea supposedly need to generate £100m in sales in June alone to not fall foul of the rules. So Gallagher, Colwill and Chalobah could all leave as home grown players. But the issue is going to be almost all clubs will be doing this in June, so who’s going to buy the players? From ourside KDH is the obvious one where we could get £30m of pure profit maybe? Other than that Thomas and Iversen could generate a couple of million again as academy players, or Hamza perhaps? No one else would generate any significant revenue. Especially the ones we would ideally shift due to their amortised value Soumaré, Kristiansen, Souttar -
Leicester City vs. Southampton Sky Bet Championship Tuesday 23 April (7:45pm kick-off) Rearranged due to FA Cup. Not sure if this will be on TV or not. 3rd last game of the season, before Preston (A) and Blackburn (H)

Does it work how it is intended to in the Prem this season? Ie. Breaches are punished in the year they occurred, so could we get a points deduction this season. If we are found to have breached the rules for this year? or does it work differently in the Champ? aprreciate this report is to do with last March’s findings. But what about this years submission?

Love the bloke. Everything he does oozes class. Cannot be stated enough how impressive he’s been this season week in week out, in a new position. My POTY I think. Our captain.

Coady and Nelson to get game time in preparation for one of them starting the next 2 league games. Stolarczyk Nelson - Coady - Doyle Hamza - Winks Fatawu - Praet - Yunus - Albrighton Cannon

Would have him ahead of both. Much higher ceiling than McAteer, and Yunus won’t be here next season. -
Wonder if we’ll stick with KP as the shirt sponsor again next season? Or will we have a new sponsor again?
-
Still can’t believe we’ve not signed this lad yet. Should be reasonably affordable you’d have thought and could cover the 6 and 8 positions.
-
Hermansen Faes - Vestergaard - Doyle Ricardo - Winks Fatawu - Yunus - KDH - Mavididi Cannon Stolarczyk / Nelson / Coady / Hamza / Praet / Alves / McAteer / Daka / Vardy Thinking we could see a couple of changes from the weekend. Bit of rest and rotation.

Wonder if Seville or Bologna are likely to trigger the option to buy clauses for either Bouba or Kristiansen respectively. Both seem to be regulars and appear to have performed okay… I know they likely won’t or will at least try to renegotiate with us (insert joke about Torino offering 20p & pizza for Dennis here). However, looking online the option to buy for Soumaré is €15m. So if he has a remaining book value of €12m to us, that would still represent a small profit? And theoretically, could that happen before the end of June to be counted in this years accounts or not?

According to Fabrizio it’s only £4m if he doesn’t start 10 games and manage x amount of minutes. If he does it suggests there isn’t a loan fee. Fulham also appear to have loaned out Carlos Vinicius to Gala. So not a bad deal all told for Fulham, presuming Broja goes straight into their XI.

Agreed now the Sensi move has fallen through, Sammy is probably our next best alternative to Winks in that DCM position. Hopefully he can get fit and get some minutes towards the back end of the season. Would be good to hear an update either way… Not forgetting pre-injury he has captained the England u18 & u19 teams, so the talent is there. Winks (Braybrooke) Ndidi (Praet) KDH (Yunus)
-
Carlos Alcaraz is leaving Saints for Juve. Would’ve thought that would weaken them quite a bit, but having looked he’s not played too many full 90’s for them, seems to have rotated quite a bit so maybe not…
-
Hermansen Faes - Vestergaard - Justin Ricardo - Winks Yunus - Praet - KDH - Mavididi Cannon Stolarczyk / Coady / Nelson / Doyle / Hamza / Albrighton / McAteer / Daka / Vardy Decent looking bench. Use it!

Hopefully a permanent move, and we can get £5m or so and a sell on clause
