  1. This won’t happen because they’ll go for Donnarumma, but… Are you saying that if Man City were to sell Ederson for 40m and then offer us 40m for Mads, you would say no? As stated before that would put him up there with most expensive keepers.
  2. Unless it’s all part of the play and we end up with big Tam.
  3. Yes, but that’s just one. I’m interested to know how many times it’s happened.
  4. We may well be signing him as a regular starter.
  5. 100% Tielemans, Maddison, Vardy, Barnes… We should have never been in the bottom half with the side we had, let alone the relegation zone. Id be intrigued to know how many sides in europes top leagues have been relegated in the same time frame as us after winning the league (excluding relegations for fraud, fixing etc)
  6. I think you are right, so why would we be looking at him as backup? That was exactly my point. He would only come here if he was the first name in the team sheet, and even that would be a push.
  7. I’d sell for anything upwards of 30m. We could replace him for much cheaper, and potentially better. Depends if Cooper feels we need a midfielder in goal or not.
  8. Sensible offer. Maybe if clubs keep offering these types of fees and the player wants out he will kick up a stink, ensuring a move happens late window. I would really like him here, I’ve been saying it from the off, but for no more than £10m absolute max. 8m would be reasonable.
  9. Arthur is not coming here to be a backup though.
  10. If Soule doesn’t want to be here he won’t sign. It’s that simple. Wish people would stop getting carried away. We literally know nothing apart from some crap the Italian journos are pumping out to get likes, sell papers etc.
  11. We need to get used to it, we are hardly in a position to compete in terms of luring players right now.
  12. Roma are massive though. Your point would be bang on if he was choosing Sampdoria etc. Soule preferring Roma over Leicester isn’t showing us as unattractive. Roma are one of the biggest clubs in Italy, in the capital, with a massive history and an exciting project under a club legend. I dare that he would still prefer the Roma move even if we were the club we were a few years ago.
  13. Sticking to my original stance that under 10m is an absolute steal and would be a very good player for us this season. Let’s see what happens late in the window. Can’t see anyone paying 20m or even close.
  14. This is one of those deals that if he were free and on reasonable wages I would be up for. Unfortunately, I can imagine Juventus wanting a tidy sum, and the player being on silly money. Arthur has been one of those wasted talents really. And his options are drastically different to what they would have been a few years ago. Not unrealistic for him to come here to try and resurrect his career with 5 or so years left of it. Tidy player on his day, just been plagued with injury and been at big clubs full of stars. He might be suited to being a big fish in a small pond. managed to stay fit last season only missing a few games, scored a few goals. Wages and fee will limit his options.
  15. Exactly this. All those years we struggled without a mahrez replacement, we could well end up with two in the same squad😂
  16. I think most of us are generally happy with second choice in most stuff. That’s the reality of life init. Not going to Roma but ending up at Leicester is hardly missing out on Man Utd and ending up at Accrington Stanley.
  17. Maybe that’s the look we are going for, proper gritty hard working midfield that win everything, but have absolutely nothing going forward😂
  18. Soule soule, soule soule. threads getting hot hot hot.
  19. Just us lot!
  20. Very good signing for them.
  21. Fulham are in talks, no mention of us. https://thehardtackle.com/transfer-news/2024/07/19/palmeiras-want-e21-million-to-sell-richard-rios-amid-fulham-links/
  22. They were a lower league side for the whole of their history. They have only been a top tier side since the takeover. So I would say that have improved under king power. It would be unrealistic to expect them to be mixing it with the top teams.
  23. Pretty sure they were a second division club at that point. So you could argue that they’ve done pretty well.
  24. Agree with your sentiment completely. But we don’t know that Saelemaekers hasn’t been identified as the one either. Just because he isn’t within your bracket doesn’t mean that he hasn’t been scouted. Having said that, I too would preferred we went a bit further afield and spent less on young players showing promise. Unfortunately it’s not that easy and straightforward. But I find it really frustrating that we don’t look at South America - Brighton have shown it can be done, who are at a similar level to us in terms of stature.
  25. We will struggle to find those players for 10m
