Bournemouth (H) 1 - 0 -- Post-Match Thread (5 Oct 24)
Tom12345 replied to lnkstern's topic in Leicester City Forum
Happy with 3 points. But I am almost there with calls for Cooper out - not sure how much longer I like to keep my patience with Cooper. Cooper was saved by a moment of brilliance and the post/bar a few times today. Otherwise, we played like we are away from home playing a team division higher. We posed no threat whatsoever in the second half. We turned the ball over almost always instantly with no outlet to bring the ball upfield. The worst offenders were VK and Ndidi - not surprising with Ndidi. Any moment we had in any build up was destroyed as soon as the ball got to VK (with Ndidi missing). So so poor. We could not even keep the ball for more than 20 seconds. We had no clue. If not for the post/bar and Bournemouth failing to capitalise on the numerous chances they had, we would have dropped points once again, at home. Great to get three points, but so disappointed to see how we play. Second half was the worst this season. Totally dominated by Bournemouth at home. We have a decent squad but we lack any plan and team selection is poor. Cooper (almost) out. -
Geeze. This is like training for the opposition. We pose no threat whatsoever. So poor in our play. Exactly as I predicted. With Ndidi in the middle, we can only hoof it up randomly or try from the side. Need to shake things up Cooper. Use you subs!! Bilal for Ndidi. Fatawu for Ayew.
-
I hope Bilal can come on for a bit for Ndidi and Also Fatawu a bit for Ayew. We attack.
-
Cooper has lost it for me. Ndidi back to the DCM role??? Good luck with us getting any up the pitch other than hoofing it up or predictably going to through the sides. Ayew instead of Bilal or Fatawu??? No Ricardo again.
-
Even with crappy tactics (I still don’t know what our attacking strategy is) and team selection, our results have always been just there or thereabouts. But not good enough. Our team is so much better than this. We got to 2-2 at 90 mins with many of our attacking talents still on the bench and playing mostly pump it up and hope for the best League Two tactics. Imagine what our players can do with a better manager. Geeze, even if it is boring, Enzo would have us do much better. Why do we have Vardy chasing shadows all day when we can have Bilal, Eduoard and even Ayew also supporting. The biggest problem for me is our build up. We just lack any plan. Kristiansen’s just constant pumping the ball randomly up field is just too disruptive. We give the ball cheaply too often. Come on, Cooper sort it out. Start with the right team selection please! Drop Kristiansen, get Ricardo back on (even as LB at least we won’t lose the ball cheaply with Ricardo) first of all.

Mads would have got the ball if Justin didn’t kick it on. -

Geeze. Make a sub Cooper. Time to throw Bilal in for Ndidi. We need another player who can keep the ball up front. -

We really need to get an attacker on. Put pressure on. Get Fatawu or El for Ndidi. -

Get another creative attacker on, in place with Ndidi. Ndidi is a bit lost, and his touch is too heavy. Go for it. -

El on for Ndidi -
So long as he doesn’t play Ndidi in any DM role, I will give him more time. He has been inconsistent in this regard, but it is a positive light that he has played Ndidi higher up on occasions so far. Anyone who plays Ndidi in a DM role is so out of touch with modern football that should not be coaching at this level. There is a reason why no club came in for Ndidi even though he was on a free transfer. He is a different proposition at AM, but we also have other options.
-
Quite possibly Cooper will have 9 defensive players out there if he can.
-
Not sure why we are only comparing Ricardo and Justin when we can do a comparison between Justin and Kristiansen as well. Justin can play LB too. Question is is Kristiansen better than the other two?

Leicester City versus Everton Tactical Analysis
Tom12345 replied to StriderHiryu's topic in Leicester City Forum
Great work as always, but I like to point out that BEK being somewhat ineffective as you said and him having to drop deep is actually a symptom of what we have been discussing previously. Ndidi. Ndidi is simply not a good build up player - Skipp is so much better in this regard. As a result the left mid often has a hole to fill which is why BEK felt he needed to drop back. But it means he is not higher up as he should be. Despite Ndidi playing ok, this weakness of his cannot be overstated. He makes Winks and the left side of midfield much less effective, but it is easy to focus on Winks, BEK and those around Ndidi. His weakness has already been well said and demonstrated in the past so there is no need to repeat here. Ndidi, if he is to be used, can only be used as an AM.
