Ndidi and Reid have been very poor.
-
With Maddison alone, we should not have been relegated. How did we? Great pass from him.
-
Need Mav and Ricardo on the pitch. We need Alves on the bench. Ndidi has been very poor.
-
At least with Maresca we keep the ball and do nothing. Now we don’t have the ball and can’t do anything.
-
Seriously. Ward should be no where near the team. We have so many keepers but yet. Very worrying with Cooper.
-
Danny Ward is still in the squad???
-
We definitely had a much better squad. It was really embarrassing any team can go down that squad. Think about the squad we have now. If we think our most valuable player is say Winks, and who else, what about then: - Barnes: Top EPL player now at Newcastle - Maddison: Absolutely top class and now at Tottenham - Evans: 2 years on and he is still at a top top club, Man Utd - Tielemans: At Villa - Mendy: I was a fan and he is in a top French club - Soyuncu: Would not we want him back now? He would still be better than anyone we have now at CB - We still had Vardy, Ndidi, Nacho - We had excesses with Soumare, Thomas, Kristensen, etc All we needed was a winger back then (not exercising option to buy Lookman was a mistake by the Board) How the hell did we get relegated??! Two words: Brendan and Ward.
-
For those who thought Mendy is crap … He is laughing at us
-
Kane still does not have a trophy. I sensed before the game that could be an omen.
-
Agree. The format and usability of this forum is really much better than many other clubs’.
-
Definitely better than Faes.

I would have loved for him to stay with us for one more season and to help us with keeping the Leicester City spirit alive as more of our long term club players are leaving, Albrighton in particular. We need guys who are here because they love the club, not just to earn a wage. All the best KDH.
-
Yep, extend for double the wages which more than makes up the extra year or two in the first place. We have the most bargaining power when they are young and at the beginning. Just ask Tielemans. Also, if as a football club we don’t have good enough recruitment people to work out whether he is supposed to be shit or not, then they may as well appoint one of us fans to head their recruitment.
-
Only 4 years for a talent who is only 18? Rudkin at it again. Just like Tielemans, 4 years is perfect to give away him for free in a few years’ time. With relatively low wages it is often worth the small risk to sign them for 5 or even 6 years.

If we really want to have a sustainable football league, instead of having rules to try to govern how clubs like to run their businesses (or whether owners can lose however much money they like), they should really consider American style salary cap arrangements. It is really the runaway transfer fees and salaries that are not just keeping away smaller clubs from competing but also ruining the finances for everyone as the clubs go down a downward spiral of trying to outbid each other for top players.

I have a suspicion that Maresca will steer clear from current Leicester players given the circumstances of his departure. There may also have been some gentlemen’s agreement not to buy from us.
-
To be honest, I sense he will do well at Chelsea with technically better players.
-
If he does get the sack at Chelsea he would be due a huge sum that he would never have to put out cones or hand out water bottles for him.
-
Ok … I admit I don’t watch them regularly. So you are saying their previous good form is more down to Potter?
-
De Zebri. He is Italian and seems to play the style of football Maresca plays (so hopefully all the coaching last season doesn’t go completely to waste), except that De Zebri is more attacking minded. I just feel it would be a pity if someone new comes in and undo the good work that was done last season. We just needed to be more attacking and develop more alternative plans, but not a completely different plan.
-
Hope he stays.

This gives the wrong impression of Pep. Firstly, Maresca only worked under Pep for one year. Not a long time understudy. Secondly, he was not “the” number two. Thirdly, Pep has more than one way. His tactics have not only evolved over time they change depending on the players he has. He said it as much. He adjusts based on who he has and also the general trend of other teams. Pep is simply at God-like level. To compare Maresca to Pep is actually quite disrespectful to Pep. Having said that, Maresca has a lot of potential. He is a young coach who has only one decent managerial experience, in the second tier, with us. He will learn and develop his style more. The key to how far he can go depends on his mentality. We will see. Personally, given the above, for him, he is much better off staying with us instead of going to Chelsea. He has not earned enough credit to entice another owner to give him a go except for Chelsea, but he won’t last for more than half a year with them, so his credit will only come from this one year with us. Not enough to show for.
-
Yeah, that is twisted and reinventing of history.
-
Yes well documented but if you imply that we didn’t sign him because he was not rated by Rodgers or the fans, that is not quite true. It is well documented that fans wanted him. The club for whatever reason decided to not splash the cash on him for FFP reasons (12m was a bargain even based on the circumstances at the time). They then splashed out more cash on other players later anyway. Simply poor decision. Rudkin maybe.
