  1. A couple of things there though. #1 We had never won the League. FA Cup and won a few games in European competitions. So we had gone much higher than we had previously. So returning to "where we were" is more significant. And no it doesn't mean we should have repeated those feats many times over. #2 The owners set the expectations, built world class training facilities and put in plans for stadium expansion. They clearly weren't expecting to be back "where we were".
  2. Leicester City's enterprise value was estimated by Forbes at $781 million (approximately £630 million) in May 2023.
  3. People slag off American sports but in a way that is how it should be - if you want meritocracy and a level playing field. On the other hand the vast majority of football fans know their clubs can never win the Prem anytime soon, so if that really mattered to them they just wouldn't go. In some ways winning the Prem League killed it for Leicester fans because now we can't have that mindset. Caveat: It didn't kill anything to me, quite the opposite. Winning the League and the FA Cup just once was enough. I never thought I'd see it (and my first game was 1973). I actually don't give a toss anymore. Whatever will be will be.
  4. Is he the only one though? We should be looking at why he (and others) don't want to play for Leicester.
  5. People should have the option to sit - however that is managed.
  6. A few of glaring errors in the statement. "Backing the lads" would make sense if it looked like all of the lads really wanted to be there on the pitch. Some clearly do not. It doesn't mention "backing the owner" or "backing the DoF" which is where the root of the problem and most of the discontent lies. "We all want the same thing" seems to me to not be true. "Leicester City supporters are among the best in the land" again appears not to be true but regardless most fans get on the owners, managers, players backs when things aren't going well. I think the only question is where it is directed and how it is done. Nothing will change until the owner/DoF change.
  7. Nonsense. No Leicester fan I know thought we would be regular title contenders even after we won it.
  8. The other day I hired a bike to the station, got a train to an event, gained access to the event and paid for everything at the event and did the same in reverse to get home - all using just my phone. The only downside to the whole thing is that if my phone died, I lost it or someone took it I would be fckd. But then again I suppose you could say the same for a real wallet - as opposed to the virtual one.
  9. To be fair I thought we would implode after the last relegation and somehow we managed to pull it out of the bag with the appointment of Maresca, bringing Winks in, who was pivotal for me, among others, etc. However, I'm even less optimistic this time and lightening rarely strikes twice. But I guess you never know....
  10. That is an interesting take. First of Ranieri, Shakey and Puel were appointed by Vichai so they can be scrubbed, the issue is what has happened under Top. Rodgers was a good appointment but it went stale after a couple of seasons and I think it's legitimate to say Top allowed a bad situation to fester to long. We then had Dean Smith who couldn't prevented us getting relegated. Maresca, another good appointment but they pee'd him off and/or he knew too much of the financials and we couldn't keep him. And then we had Cooper/RvM - which, whichever way you look at it has been a disaster. It's not just about a good appointment it's about recognising when they have reached their limits and/or keeping them happy.
  11. Do people know we've been relegated and don't have money to burn.
  12. He's not the first young player to have been caught driving over the limit or making a few suspect tweets. Not condoning it but he's no Joey Barton.
  13. Nothing to be said or to discuss is there. Top either needs to have a lightbulb moment - and either gets in the right people or sells. Or we carry on bumbling along. Note: It's quite possible that he gets in a half decent manager, we sign a couple of decent players and get promoted - without Top doing the aforementioned. But it will be followed by more dross. Our problems are basic/core - this is not a tinker, small strategic shift, stuff.
  14. Definitely this.

    Daka

    Err, no.

    Daka

Whilst I am not a full on Daka basher this is a fair point/comparison. Both Nacho and Daka are frustrating players.
  17. Don't care if we sack him or not. It will make no odds either way if Rudkin remains in situ.
  18. But he isn't available.
  19. That is a low bar.
  20. Depends why you go in the first place. That is to say people go for the social aspect or because it's a part of their lives. I'm an armchair supporter and to some extent a frivolous one. I will try to watch most games but would definitely make less of an effort once relegated. For the same reasons I never watch friendlies either. I have a mate who is a Hearts STH and goes to every Scotland game. He even goes to Hearts pre-season friendlies abroad.
  21. Don't wish to continue the negativity but here is Reading's story of protest: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/feb/11/reading-dai-yongge-fan-protests-ownership-regulator
  22. #1 - They have thought it out. That's why there is scant detail apart from the date. #2 - If you are too lazy to get there at 11 rather than 12 then my bet is you just aren't interested in protesting. #3 - I get the logic of the after the game thing but there is a downside too - a surprise result dampens the idea, people want to get off (yeah see #2), non-protestors won't see it, etc.
  23. Who said it was an excuse. It was more a statement of fact/culture.
  24. It's a Leicester thing - we're just mardy bastards but we don't do owt.
