  1. Faes is the biggest liability for me. Liking the look of Okoli. Vesty and Coady I have less of a problem with.
  2. Hard to say it was accident given "can be traced back to fundamental design errors and the failure to mitigate known risks."
  3. I was thinking the same as the OP after the full set of weekend games. Equally I understand why people don't want to go there. And of course, there is the thing, that if we do escape, it's possible/probable that nothing will change. Perhaps what you would term a "lose lose situation". Let me just go turn the gas oven on.....
  4. He said ""There's been a lot of impressive players at the club.`" - so he's definitely smoking something.
  5. A couple of thoughts: #1 We have very little power to affect/change ownership. Doesn't mean we don't discuss their performance (same as DoF, Manager, players, etc) but unless we are going to organise protests and campaign to try to force them out it's just that - a sharing of opinion. And, I am not sure many would be comfortable going after Top in this way. #2 If we do get new owners it's a coin toss (at best) if we get a good one or not. Liverpool fans have had issues with their owners in the past but it all went a bit quieter under Klopp and now with their push for the title. Man U, Chelsea, Newcastle have all had new owners. Would be a big debate on how that is working out. Bear in mind I am still scarred us getting rid of Bloomfield and appointing McLintock as manager
  6. If you think about West Ham need to ask some questions if they had 30 shots but less clear cut chances and only 1 goal. Perhaps they should have done more to create rather than taking pot shots.
  7. Question is what is down to "modern life", what is down football in general and what is specific to LCFC. I am guessing if you are a Brighton, Brentford or Forest fan right now, life is mint. However, there are definitely broader issues, ticket management, match day vibe, etc. that have a general impact.
  8. The first piece of evidence is his lack of game time. Being made captain against Walsall tells us nothing. It could even be regarded as an insult. Being preferred to start is one thing. Not being used at all is another. The bloke is 31. Vardy is 37. And as I say if he really his finished then why have him on the bench at all, why play him against Walsall.
  9. If his legs are gone he wouldn't be on the bench or played against Walsall. Is there any evidence at all that this isn't purely the manager having had a fall out with the player.
  10. When did a ref ever change their mind after being surrounded by half a dozen gesticulating wide eyes with anger players.
  11. IIRC the mood was very negative going into the first game, including from me, so let's just hope the season works out like the last in terms of us performing above expectation (generally speaking). Spurs weren't great second half of last season and, not for any logical reason. there is some pressure on them. And they will be expected to win this one and us to lose. So hopefully that works in our favour in terms of the mentality of the two teams.
  12. Couple of thoughts. 1) Tigers ST's up something like broadly 28% increase in price for 14% less games (3 teams have gone bankrupt last couple of years). 2) Have you seen the cost of concert tickets recently. 3) Sounds like we are mid-table in the Prem which is probably about right. 4) Proof will be in the pudding - let's see how those first few games go. I am not saying it's right or wrong - who really knows.
  13. Can't find any interviews/statements from Rudkin or Top
  14. This is the last interview I can find from Whelan https://www.business-live.co.uk/regional-development/leicester-city-ceo-susan-whelan-23565185
  15. Two points: 1) Can we clarify who the "hierarchy" refers to - Top is owner, Rudkin - Director of Football, Whelan - Chief Executive. As a collective I would say I have my doubts but not sure what %age of blame they get each. 2) I assume we must "trust" as in are they doing or can they do a good job going forward - rather than any question about their motivation or character. Also: Is there any forum at which any of these people set out the plan, how they see things? It does feel like it's a bit of a silent wall and maybe that is part of the problem.
  16. I think you are right that match goers would be skewed more to dislike. Fairer just means more decisions are correct. Which is statistically proven - quite logically. But as you say there is a question of whether there is a downside in atmo and enjoyment. If I thought that coaches, players and fans would accept officials decisions without much complaint I would be much more relaxed about it.
  17. From last summer: https://www.statista.com/chart/30699/public-opinion-of-var/#:~:text=According to survey data from, has made the game fairer. So the question should be why UK is so low compared to others. Statistically it makes for better decisions - but there are definite improvements to be made - especially in the UK it seems. Would be bonkers to remove technology totally IMO.
  18. Count me in as mental. I'm not ruling it out. Too many questions for that. But some people are being excessively negative IMO.

    New Kit

In regard of the above: https://investor.pttor.com/en/document/viewer/63675/clarification-on-investment-news-in-myanmar https://www.bangkokpost.com/business/general/2467232/ptt-sets-out-stance-on-myanmar-after-fund-exit Is there anything else?

Yeah, I'd like to know too.
  21. Priority should be on recruitment and to give Enzo all the tools he needs. Also for Top to get the support he needs in the back office. I don't know if Rudkin is a problem or not. But it seems to me all has not been great. The finances, cases against the club, etc need to be dealt with. Personally, I see stadium expansion as important over the 2-3 year horizon. I don't agree with having any particular target league and cup wise. There are too many variables, too many ifs and buts. Put the building blocks in place, see where it takes you.
  22. Not picking on this particular poster but it's funny to look back
  23. I don't buy this narrative that we had/have a great squad capable of smashing the League and breaking records. This is a bonkers assessment. The squad is a good one but not exceptional. By all means question the manager but don't hype the squad.
  24. Interesting stuff that. Must admit logically we are going to struggle. Out of form strikers. Lot of pressure. An inexperienced manager.
  25. I know an Everton STH, lifelong supporter. Commutes 170 miles to home games. I asked him last season if he would renew if they got relegated. And he said, yes because it's about meeting mates for a beer and all that surrounds it. I also know a big Carlisle fan - part of London branch of the supporters club. When they went non-League he loved going to all the new grounds. He's scathing of the Prem League/CL, even though he watches it. These guys tell me that is what it's all about - not being "a plastic".
