Mercer's wife panicking that her cushy job is about to disappear and they'll both be unemployed soon. A classic case of the Streisand Effect as a little protest is now going viral. Then the police turn up, have no problem and don't really know why they've been called in another video.

Worth noting this Survation guy says these are the ranges it could be for each party. So it might not be as close. Of course, it could be closer.

D.B Cooper. Highjacked a passenger plane on the way to Seattle, USA in 1971. Got them to give him $200,000 dollars and a parachute when he let the pilot land to let the passengers off. Told the pilot to take off and he escaped with the parachute and the money and never got caught

I read some interesting theories as to the real reason America pumped the breaks on Israel and it was nothing to do with WCK killings. Not sure if it's scaremongering, truth, or fantasy. Basically they said. Biden has received millions of dollars over his career from Israel through AIPAC. That was enough to buy his friendship - and to look the other way during the mass starvation of an occupied people. But, not enough to get into direct conflict with Iran and a regional war. When Israel blew up Iran's embassy in Syria they expected an immediate reaction. Coming from Hezbollah. Now Hamas is crippled, they wanted to do the same to Hezbollah, whilst the US is on board. Also prolonging the war so Netanyahu can stay in power. But the problem was Iran didn't immediately react. Instead through diplomatic back channels they went to the US and said: Look, we know you didn't authorise this. We both know there are unwritten rules and this is so far over the line there will be consequences. We advise you to not get in the way. Then nothing happened, it started to worry the Americans and something spooked them. Because what they did know was: Iran had started deploying its missile systems; it has hypersonic missiles that can overwhelm Israel's Iron Dome defences. And that hundreds of thousands of Houthi rebels have told Iran they will join them if there is war. Now Iran are just sitting back enjoying the power of the unknown. Some people still think they'll do something; others expect millions of dollars of sanctions relief for Iran in the coming weeks and a ceasefire in Gaza soon. But they all agree Biden has put himself in a terrible position and is now being played from both sides. At home he's alienated his entire muslim voter base. They had to cancel the annual Itfar Ramadan meal at the White House because all the muslim leaders pulled out and refused to eat with him. That might cost him the battle ground state of Michigan. Lots of other left leaning voters are deeply unhappy and thinking about not voting. On the right there's a growing isolationist movement who just want to pull out of any foreign conflicts - especially when their ally openly defies them, mugs them off and risks drawing them into a regional war. So now he's had no choice but to act and a lot of people around him are not happy.

I've got close family members who are American so I guess I always pay more attention to their coverage of stuff than most people would. I've never seen anyone grill an Israeli government minister like this on US tv. The government minister doesn't seem to know what to do and is taken aback by the anger and facts. This interviewer isn't some left wing democrat. He was a Republican politician (independent now) and is a strong supporter of Israel. This WCK killing does seem to have changed things over there. Especially their view of Netanyahu - he may have pushed his luck too far. People are even starting to question the influence of AIPAC.

Oh s**t! This game's been so good.

I wrote in an other thread I've worked in two toxic organisations. What's happening here has all the hallmarks of there. Over promoted untalented senior managers - and CEO's who were too nice, buried their heads in the sand and were too frightened to make big decisions.. Where I worked the senior managers knew they were out of their depth. Their only real skills were taking credit for other peoples achievements and arse covering/kissing. They were quite good at employing other people who's work they could take credit for. But sooner or later they employed someone who wasn't as good as they thought. Then they were in the position of actually having to do their own jobs. And they couldn't. They'd also made it so toxic that anyone with any talent or skill who they now needed had left the organisation. When s**t finally hit the fan they made reckless decisions based mostly on self preservation. They cared nothing about the long term future of the organisations. All they cared about was kicking the can down the road because they didn't want to be exposed and they hoped for a miracle. And this is what happens: it reaches a point where the dam breaks. Our transfers strategy is so chaotic it's clear our DOF has no strategy. He also blocks any promotion for the likes of Walsh and Macia. Who it's clear now deserve the credit for our old well run club reputation (along with people like Pearson and maybe even Puel). We even had old recruitment staff and data analysts leave under Rodgers because they said they were being ignored. It makes no sense to ignore the people who helped you reach where you are. Unless you're incompetent. Why on earth knowing the finances are like this and after relegation are we spending the money we are on the likes of Coady and Cannon. It's clearly blind panic. Just like offering Harrison £100k a week in the January relegation season. They're so cowardly/incompetent they let Rodgers bang on about having a s**t squad for months and only told him on the first week of pre-season there was no money. I have serious reservations about PSR and it needs looking at. Yes, it gives too much protection to the big six. But, it's partly in place for when people like this are running your club. Just imagine running at this big of a loss and your owner dies with no other family member/person willing to fund the club. Then suddenly there's no one footing the bill anymore and you're losing £90 million a year.

Rodgers could change things: like in the Cup Final season. He would go 3-5-2. But in his last season he clearly didn't care and was praying to be sacked (which is why I'll never forgive the clown). Enzo just seems clueless now his masterplan isn't working. Even Pep will change things like putting 2 up top sometimes. Enzo doesn't even seem able to make tactical subs.
-
I also said something very similar under Rodgers. The board seem to want to play a certain technical way; but this is the issue with it. It's very hard to recruit the right mentality. With PSR I don't think we have the finances to play/recruit this way anymore. We need to be more pragmatic or at least have a plan b. And it seems Enzo is far too stubborn for that.
-
His in game management has lost me today. People are right to question the players. But I think this is the big problem with his system. When you rely on technical players and try to fill your team with just them. You're relying on players who've always been the most skilled in their teams ever since they were a kid. It's never been their job to dig in, fight and battle (even defenders); they've always relied on teammates to do that. It's really rare to find a player like that. It's why Rodri is so important to Man City. It's a big flaw in Enzo's system. Especially at this level.
-
We've been worked out and have no plan B. We also have a lot of mentally weak players.
-
The most frustrating game I can remember watching possibly ever. I can't be doing with any whataboutery today trying to shift blame today. They're all responsible. Lack of desire from everyone, missed absolute sitters. And waited far too long to make subs. Even if we were winning we were looking tired and should have made subs. But we can't even say that; they were all round honking and we had a strong bench. With regards to Enzo: I don't really care how we play as long as we get results. But his in game management borders on amateur at times. I am starting to worry teams have figured us out; then players on the pitch don't know how to adjust.
-
I think this might be the most frustrated I've ever been watching us play. The lack of drive and the missed chances are on the players. But waiting so long to make subs is on Enzo. It's indefensible considering how they've played. Really do start to question him at times like now.

Pretty sure if you get sent to federal prison there is no parole anymore (was abolished for new inmates around 1987). I think the earliest you can get out is 80-85% of your sentence. It's around 54 days per year for good behaviour. There are other rules regarding terminal illnesses, old age and presidential pardon.
-
I watched that too. That guys videos are great when he goes on his challenges. The big problem is with all things like this: everyone admits it's a problem, but when it comes to paying for it everyone is like: you pay for it; no you pay for it; no you pay for it. So people just do short term fixes which never solve the issue. Governments know it's such a big long term project they kick it down the road and they'd rather budget for something else. And they know if they told everyone their water bill was going up £200 a year for the next 20 years to fund it, it won't go down well. As others have said, water companies should never have been privatised. The cost and logistics of digging up the UK's entire sewage system and changing it from a 1 pipe to a 2 pipe system are massive. But it'll have to be done one day.
-
I used to be outraged by the sewage in the rivers till I found out how much it costs to fix; now I sort of understand why it never gets fixed. Don't agree with it, but understand. It's £100 to 200 billion minimum. Some estimate it would be around £660 billion (others say that's far too high). I think Rory Stewart on the Rest is Politics said when he was an environment minister it was around a £300 billion estimate (could be wrong, was a while ago). I'm sure that's why when the news cover it they rarely actually go into how much it would cost to fix. It's all because it's an old, outdated system where rainwater uses the same system as our waste/sewage. But something needs to be done as it's increasing at an alarming rate. Yet dividends are still going out to shareholders instead of being saved up to fix it. Privatisation hasn't worked and people's water bills will in part have to be used to fund the fix. Which is why I think it always gets kicked down the road.

It might not be human error. You can see on the longer video all the lights on the ship go out a couple of times before it hits. They must have been having power issues. No power = no steering. Which means it goes where the current and wind takes it. Even if the steering/power does come back, you can't just turn those things immediately. Surprising that a 1.6 mile bridge over a river collapses so quickly when hit by a boat. Edit: 29 seconds in all the lights go out.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
Guesty replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yeah it is. It might be we have no mitigation, so f**k it, roll the dice. The fact that EFL and EPL have different rules and punishments doesn't help - and they don't seem to have fully thought through what happens to relegated teams. They don't seem to communicate well with each other and in some cases seem to make it up as they go along (which when lawyers get involved can be a real issue). For all we know, maybe there is some technicality (we can dream). Maybe we were worried they might slap us with a big deduction now to disrupt our season (knowing full well we can successfully appeal it) just cause they're pi**ed off at us. So we've tried to avoid it. Just me personally and I'm sure this is looking through some blue tinted specs. But I do think if you get relegated it should be factored in to any punishment. -
Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
Guesty replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Don't know. But Everton appealed and said no punishment should be worst than -9 (which is administration) and the appeal board agreed and reduced their suspension. Forest still got hit with -6 (reduced to 4) and I thought they had quite a good point/mitigation as to why they waited to sell Johnson. I could see more clubs going down this route. If it's only an extra 2/3 points fine. I mean Nick De Marco was Forest's lawyer so he's been through it with them. Whatever happened there looks like he's advised us to go down this route. It's quite clear when they originally gave Everton -10 they hadn't thought these rules/punishments through properly. They haven't really left themselves anywhere to go if teams really fight it or try to wriggle out on technicalities. I imagine we're just trying to make sure any deduction happens next season. -
I've worked in two toxic organisations. Both had a leader who was a nice person, but totally incapable of the job. Failed to make tough decisions; would just accept what the managers directly underneath them said without questioning or investigating themselves. Just seemed to cross their fingers and hope everything would be alright. The problem was: underneath them were a lot of unethical/untalented managers who would lie - or at the very least, not tell the full story. And the problem with unethical/untalented people is: they attract more unethical/untalented people. Unethical/untalented managers have two main skills. Very good at arse covering and they're very good at taking credit for other peoples work. Which means they have an uncanny ability to hire people who are talented; and like parasites, they ride the wave of successes. In each organisation though the problem came when talented people disagreed with their superiors or wanted a promotion. Unethical/untalented managers never want to be shown up or threatened (and they rarely leave because they might be found out elsewhere). So the talented people would always be forced out sooner or later - or they'd leave for a promotion somewhere else. Then more and more unethical/untalented people would rise within each organisation. And then sooner or later unethical/untalented managers would make wrong appointments. The person/people they'd employed weren't as talented as they'd hoped. Then they'd be in the position of actually having to do their own job and fix mistakes with no help. But they weren't capable. And they made terrible decisions. Both organisations imploded, very quickly, very fast. I obviously have no idea if LCFC is like those organisations, but the more I look at us, the more we're starting to resemble them. It really is a worry.

If we don't get promoted I'm not sure who will want him. First job sacked after a few months; then couldn't get one of the best Championship squads ever promoted. If we do get promoted he might leave if he gets a better offer. He plays a very specific way which he has gone on record saying requires lots of time to learn. Most clubs don't have that time. They want someone who can make an immediate impact or work with what they've got. Plus, he wants very specific players to fit his system which means alienating good players who you might need if he leaves (Soutter, Kristensen, etc). He doesn't want left backs. If he leaves at the first sign of trouble after assembling a squad in such a way other clubs will be wary about to appointing him (especially with PSR now so important). Look what happened to Marco Silva years ago when his stock was quite high. Joined Watford, downed tools and binned them off after only a few months to move to Everton. When he got sacked there he found no other Premier League clubs would appoint him; they viewed him as a mercenary who would leave at the first opportunity. He had to go back to the Championship after over a year unemployed. If Enzo binned us off at the first sign of trouble he might find himself in a similar position - especially when he wants a very specific squad and players.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
Guesty replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
I doubt any points deduction will be worse than -9. Part of Everton's successful appeal to get a reduction from -10 was PSR is to stop clubs going into administration (which is the worst case). The deduction for administration in the Premier League is -9 (-10 in EFL). Therefore any PSR breach should be lower than the worst case. The appeal board agreed. -
I think that's exactly it. On the news they said they'd waited till today because it's half term so their kids won't have to deal with it at school.
-
I've not really been keeping up with this. But I thought she might have had a hysterectomy. Not something you'd want people to know/talk about. Can really effect some people mentally. And can be taken out through abdominal surgery. But who knows. Like others have said that photo is massive own goal. Photography is one of Kate's big hobbies I think. She probably put all the settings in and just told William to press the button. But whoever edited it needs firing. No one cares where the kids arm is.

The way Red Bull have handled all this is so bad. If you're a sponser, you can't be happy with this. Today you've got Horner saying we need to draw a line under this and move on. Then they do this. Why on earth do you suspend a woman who has accused her boss of harassment the day before International Women's Day and at the start of a race weekend. The only way this makes sense to me is if she's decided to take legal action against Red Bull and her lawyers have waited till right now to tell Red Bull. Which would be quite clever. Cause I think then they'd probably have to suspend her on full pay.
