Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

Me too mate, just said Lenny would shake them up and make them runabout a bit! -
The great Martin O’Neill used to say football is about those who pay and those who play.

Ben Dawson and Danny Alcock - Left the club

Yeah alright, I was there as well, must’ve nodded off, but generally better than under Rogers? -

Definitely right about attacking, but I think we’ve massively improved defending them, Arsenal being a case in point? Under Brendan, corner = Goal. Mind you all these so called coaches/ managers we’ve had and only Ranieri left a couple up to make the opposition leave three back (occasionally).Does my head in every week, every season. -
How does this team do in the Championship?
ceebeefox replied to hejammy's topic in Leicester City Forum
We need to drop the style we play currently, though it may get us back up the sub standard players can’t play that way in this league. I’ve seen Orient, Plymouth, and even Tamworth put up a better fight against prem teams. Brentford reminded me of our O’Neill era, three big lumps at the back saying come on cross it and we’ll eat it up. Aggression and fight . -
Bobby De Cordova-Reid joins permanently - Official

I agree he gives us nothing, but you need to have been watching them since the sixties like me to know far from one of the worst. -
To ask him to run his nuts off at 38 for the full games is absolutely criminal, and a sackable offence on it’s own, he will get injured very soon if RVN continues with this. Give him a rest for gods sake we’re down anyway. Let Daka have a run round for 60 mins.

As Tommy Docherty once said,………The Bar!!
-
That’s harsh, he ran the show in most games last season, and that’s where we’re headed. Him Mads and BEK are our only sellable players I think. He’s been poor in a very poor team this year but far from the worst.

Agreed, pace from the championship was the way forward, not oldies and not unknowns from poor foreign leagues. -

Agree with all this, other than apart from Daka we have no genuine pace at the club to match Florist’s full backs and wingers sadly. Until Fatawu comes back, and maybe Alves on the other side? I’m not having Mavadidi. -
Vardy’s the only one who may have stepped in on our behalf. On the game, Everton were everything we’re not, passion, drive, and an old school 4-4-1-1 with a rejuvenated big man up top that you’re premier league centre halves can’t deal with these days. I loved it!!
-
Get someone to man mark Odegaard follow him even to the toilet at halftime. Why don’t teams do that anymore?, remember Kamark on Janinio in the cup final way back? Excuse the spelling.
-
Agreed, and in spite of my comment he’d be my first pick centre half wise due to pace and strength. I remember Brian Clough talking to one of his centre halves, “ you’re a centre half son, your job is to head it and kick it, anything else is a bonus!” Whilst I don’t fully agree with that, it is a good start, Vesty for instance is 6’5” and jumps 5’6”!!
-
Young for a centre half, they generally mature later.
-
Yes, and I can go back to our 1969 cup final and relegation year and we’re nowhere near the worst top flight City team, pretty poor though, toothless. Strange how football has changed though, our manager Frank O’Farrell took us down but then became United manager! Imagine that today.

Facundo Buonanotte joins on loan - Official
ceebeefox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
If he’s the best you’ve got you play him, we’ve scarce few players who can create. I’ve got no problem with a player trying something and losing the ball in the opponents half. Beats the sterile crap of keeping the ball, which in our “stats” gives Vesty and Faes 65% possession! -
Yes agreed, but also the reason we bounce back up again.

Season Ticket / Membership renewals for 25/26
ceebeefox replied to skinnydipper's topic in Leicester City Forum
As I’ve said before, I only watch blue and white and don’t care if it’s Liverpool or Grimsby Town. If we can compete in the top league, upset the Apple cart now and then, all well and good, if we can’t let’s go down into a league we can do well in. We should have a team mid table premier, and due to poor management squandering NFP’s fantastic organisation we’re not. I do however support the team of my City and will renew my season ticket. -
Is relegation a price worth paying for avoiding a PSR breach?
ceebeefox replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
No complacency quite right, but Luton big dogs? No way would their squad or fans think that after where they had come from. -
And he may pop up with the odd goal too, we’re rubbish on corners.

All the coaches are brainwashed with the new fads! Only Florist buck the trend! -
Not read all this but I remember being in the play off area when we went up to Newcastle and we’re pumped 7! A young Andy Cole rampant. We had centre halves that couldn’t run that day too!
-
For not changing anything today at half time he should go.
