Gambling with the club’s future. Do it again?
Pliskin replied to An Away Move's topic in Leicester City Forum
What did you see out there today then? A team fighting for their manager? Or one that’s lost all belief? -
This is in a nutshell it. And he hasn’t got the experience to get us out of it. He’s probably in his office asking Willy why it isn’t working anymore. At the moment, we’re the easiest team in the league to play against.
-
It’s destined to be Coventry who do us. 100% they will the team to dump us out of the playoffs.
-
I know that you’re right. But for me it’s just the fact this relationship is clearly over, and given the fact that for the sake of the club we have to go up, and now we’re in this ridiculous situation. It’s a nightmare.
-
It’s alright getting behind the manager, but the whole thing has gone. He clearly has lost it, the performance today was completely lifeless, and the body language of the players at the end of the game suggested they lost all faith in the project themselves. Problem is, our situation is unprecedented….. there’s a major decision to be made, do we just accept that we’re not going to go up, and just accept that next season will likely end in relegation. Or do we do something drastic? Id argue we’re already a laughing stock, we’ve tossed away an 18 point lead over Ipswich, who will be in the top two later on this evening anyway, so we won’t be in the automatic spots, and then it’s as good as out of our hands. In usual circumstances I’d completely agree with you, but the situation is becoming desperate, and with Enzo we’re completely ill equipped to take it on. The fans won’t give the club a kick up the arse until it’s given something to shout about, and we can be criticised until the cows come home, but the whole club is just on its arse, there’s misdemeanours ongoing on the women’s team, mismanagement at board level and a manager who’s lost the plot. It’s probably got to the stage of being unsalvageable anyway, so we may as well just let it ride out .
-
What’s the answer? He’s lost it? We’re just going to go into every game doing the same thing, and get nowhere….. we may not even win again, such is the state of the belief in that squad. Enzo’s managerial inexperience is costing us dearly. The lads look lost, there is no fight or belief in that side at all. If things remain as they are, I don’t even think we will muster as much as a couple of points between now and the end of the season.

Gambling with the club’s future. Do it again?

It will only be a financial disaster if we don’t go up. And if we don’t go up, we’re ****ed anyway. Enzo has lost the dressing room, there’s. No way that he is getting it back, once that’s happened it’s game over. We’re a shambles and unless something is done, gos knows how this season could pan out. -
Leeds’s title to lose now after today, and Ipswich’s form is relentless, top two is now comfortably theirs.
-
The club is rotten from the core. This is another horrendous mistake to add to the long list of horrendous mistakes.
-
You’ve got to ask what you want though. 1- Keep Enzo and just slide away into nothing. 2-Sack Enzo and just try something else, even if it results in the same fate. He’s gone either way in the summer, I just think it’s now approaching desperate times. The body language at the game says everything, those lads are leaderless, and from now on it’s going to be like serving up lambs to the slaughter.
-
“Jamie, do you want my boots”
-
This isn’t a bad patch, it’s a self implosion!
-
It shouldn’t matter. The facts are there for all to see, Enzo has lost the lads, they’re not playing within his vision. They’re lost and playing with fear and a complete lack of belief. The problem is we’re in an impossible situation, because if we carry on like this we won’t go up, and if we don’t go up that’s it… well, let’s just say the future will become extremely bleak. The fact is, Enzo wont change, and we need change, desperately, it might be the only way to salvage what’s left of this disastrous season.
-
Joking aside, 1970’s was apparently the last time we won on Good Friday?
-
We played like a team whose players and manager are divided. Theres no cohesion with the project and the performance. The players have lost belief.
-
“It’s a bigger game for Leeds than us”.
-
Whereas players shoulder some responsibility, it’s up to the manager to set them up. The players can only implement what the manager gets them to, and he getting them to play a turgid brand of football. It’s likely the players are losing faith in his philosophy, because he’s banging the drum to a different beat. There’s two experienced players sat on the bench, there’s the most expensive squad in championship history, we were 18 points clear of Ipswich at Christmas and we will likely be below them tonight. With everything going on off the pitch, we need a stronger character on the dig out. Not someone who’s so hell bent on their “idea” that it’s to the detriment of the team. We’re Enzo’s project, and we can’t afford to be. He’s lost it, he’s lost the players and he’s lost the plot frankly… Today was as low as it’s been for years, and there’s still games left, if he stays, we’re just going to sink into nothing.
-
Come tea time we could (will) be third. The ownership may have their hand forced. We simply HAVE to go up this season, otherwise next season won’t be worth thinking about. It’s about time this club got ruthless, and it may have to be a drastic decision like this to even give us a chance. Enzo is done here, this performance just proved it.
-
Exactly this.
-
Norwich will ease it, 0-3.
-
It’s the fact nothing will change. It will be the same style V Norwich, and then Birmingham and then the rest of them. Slow, lifeless football, no intensity, no pace, no creativity, and when we get a chance we snatch at it. We’re also far too open at the back, if we concede possession in a dangerous area we’re ****ed. The club are leaving its future in the hands of a novice, the reason it won’t change is because he won’t change. He refuses to change and adapt. He refuses to play to the strengths of the team. And ever since the pressure was turned up we’ve crumbled. We’re balancing on the edge of a knife, and by tea time we could be out (will be out) of the top two. We’re displaying no signs of turning it around, no fight, no desire….. the players are leaderless and there’s two sat on the bench, it’s clear he’s losing the faith of some of the players, KDH couldn’t have looked more disinterested today, and he’s a local lad…. There’s no way on this planet Enzo will get us up, no way at all, he’s lost control of the situation, what we need on this situation is a manager with a bit of experience, Enzo isn’t the man I’m afraid. My choice would be sack him, and give Cooper a short term contract with the view of a longer one if we go up. We have to change something, because Enzo won’t.
-
He’s putting his plan before the team, and that won’t change. Might not even win another game under him, he’s lost it, the team set up is turgid, the style ****ing disgusting and it’s clear the lads aren’t playing with belief. There zero chance we go up with him in charge, this side has **** all fight about it.
-
Enzo out
-
Wouldn’t ****ing bother, there more productive things to be doing.
