If he would accept a reduced deal maybe, I just don’t think he’s good enough for the premier league. There’s both cheaper and arguably better options out there. I am genuinely enjoying the league win, particularly because I was so afraid we were going to toss it away, but I’m now anxious for the summer 🙈 I’m sure we won’t make the same mistakes again……….. because to be fair I think last pre seasons business was more like it. But I’m of the opinion that most of those out of contract should be given a fond farewell, and we look to rebuild without them, with the exception of Vardy, he stays because 15 goals to over take Owen is definitely achievable.

Unfortunately as much as I’ve enjoyed the last few days, I’m fearful that Top will get carried away in the euphoria and allow Rudkin to start “rewarding” players out of contract with ridiculous new deals which will further deepen our FFP problems. It’s a genuine fear, and the club are absolutely there to be criticised. We shouldn’t be in this position, and it’s their fault that we are, careless management of the club has seen us collapse from a healthy position to one of uncertainty. It’s all well and good criticising those fans who are still dubious about our situation, but I care about the long term future of this club. Our promotion was a necessity, not winning the league would have been a blunder considering the value of this squad in comparison to Ipswich. I’m glad we’ve won the league of course I am, and I’m happy that is as fans have something to celebrate, an 8th EFL title now makes us the most decorated club at this level, which is something to be proud of. But, there’s still and elephant in the room, and I just hope with every fibre that Top et al down get weak knees because of this season, and start giving the likes of Vesty new deals, when we’ve got a massive opportunity to trim the wage bill and get our ducks in order. Im desperate for this to be a new beginning, not a false dawn.

I think it’s a given Luton are going down. But I would take Barkley, for a season at least. He’d do better in this squad I think.

I don’t care. I wrote a letter to Rudkin when he was at santos and he clearly didn’t pay any attention. So this is his problem now…..

I think we will survive. I think Enzo’s idea will be better suited to the premier league, but we need the players to execute it. We are going to have to be savvy in the market, we’ve managed it before which gives me hope. I know I lost my head when we were wobbling, but now the season is done, and my sanity has returned, it’s clear that there’s a strong bond between the players and Enzo, they clearly big into him, and this will stand us in good stead next season.

Don’t write us off so easily. Everton have had significant deductions this season and will finish well clear of the bottom three. If we get the business right then we could be absolutely fine. There’s a lot of shit in the premier league…. I’d say we’re better now than the bottom 4 teams, so that’s a starter for ten. We just need to get the summer right, plus Forest staying up could help us the talk is they’re getting points back, which would aid both us and Everton V the Pl.

Reus and Sensi

Iborra and Inlers careers were significantly less impressive than Reus and Cambiasso. Sometimes having an older head who’s had such a good career can be massive, especially at the foot of the table. Don’t underestimate the influence Cambiasso had on the squad the season we stayed up. However, Reus has a rancid injury record, that’s what would put me off.

I thought this. And Faes both goals were disgraceful. Thankfully I think we can blame the lack of ****s and beer. But we need significant changes in that back line. Why did he not try Nelson?

I can’t help but think Top isn’t taking our situation seriously…… just watching him parade around the pitch a again as if he was one of the lads, desperate to be at the front and centre of the party. The preparation for next season is set to be our most important for a very long time. We cant afford to have him sat on his hands thinking everything is fine and dandy. A lot of work, effort and commitment is going to be needed to get us set for next season, if weee going to start up against it we need to be well prepared. I just have this feeling he’s going to be more interested in showering the team with gifts than he is focusing on next season.

Burrows looks a player. 144 appearances at 22. Not bad at all.

I haven’t purchased a shirt for years! For the reason I won’t pay over the odds for a bit of fabric! But like you say, they will still sell thousands of them!

The whole thing felt a bit flat today. Thought the atmosphere was poor… strange experience today for me.

And that’s the issue, is this a bit like Craig makail smith or whatever his name was, just a one season wonder?

The problem with this is, weee now under pressure financially. Every club of our size is, and a lucrative sponsorship deal can really host the financial position of the club. Unfortunately no club wanting to be competitive in this current climate would ever refuse a sponsor based on moral beliefs, unless the link to widespread atrocity was so obvious that the deal would cause you more harm than good. It’s the modern game, it’s corrupt to the very core.

Still don’t think I trust him to be in charge of the rebuild…… I’m very uneasy about us going into next season with him as manager.

If the price is right then yes, he’s impressed me, he’s got a bite about him that I like. Can he play the high 8 role though?

One thing is for sure, Vesty can be nowhere near this squad next season.

You won’t find many companies affiliated with football in this day and age that are morally clean. You don’t become a billion £ enterprise by constant do good-ing. King power themselves will have a closet full of skeletons. It is what it is.
