  1. He at least will occupy the defenders, and press. He is limited, but he will help us offensively more than Ayew.
  2. It would help if Marti just tried for once dropping Ayew and Soumare, and playing James as the other CM, and a proper striker. Might actually start scoring goals. Marti, is typical of a person with his ideology. He wants “footballers” all over the pitch, and that’s why Ayew continues to play, because he can hold a ball up, but he can’t even do that well. If we played a striker that was able to run in behind, he might have a bit more of a threat.
  3. Potter needs to either go to Scotland or drop down a level to rebuild himself. Lads done.
  4. Both Wrexham and Derby are shit.
  5. You’re not wrong. What I meant is, he occasionally has a decent touch and the odd dribble past someone (down a blind alley)… But, he has absolutely no positive impact on our attack, so why the **** does he play? He has to come out of the starting 11 to improve us, he won’t though, so ideally we need him to get injured. Half the battle in the championship is occupying defenders, he doesn’t even do that. Daka might be severely limited as a footballer, but with his pace and movement he will trouble defenders. This then opens up space for your attacking midfielders and wingers… Thus making you more dangerous. Ayew does none of those things, all he does is hold onto the ball, and this is a major red flag regarding Marti, that he values that more than the ability to trouble defenders.
  6. If Faes could make a mistake like that yesterday and still play, Ben Nelson surely can be considered?
  7. Still think he’s doing okay. Some issues with his handling and distribution, but he does pull off some good saves.
  8. He doesn’t suit us at all. He doesn’t bring anything positive to the attack. He’s not a bad footballer he just doesn’t do anything for us.
  9. He comes into his own in the penalty area. We don’t get enough balls into the penalty that he can deal with. All of our crosses yesterday were shit, either floated in to the back posts or intercepted. I think he will finish most of those 50/50’s in the area, we’ve just got to get the ball to him. And, we’ve got to stop playing Ayew, our attack will instantly become more dangerous.
  10. I think they care, and they’re trying. If you looked at it as a neutral, you’d probably say we were the better footballing side, but clearly lack a cutting edge at the top of the pitch. But that’s the frustration, at the moment it’s hard to defend Marti when he’s continually playing a player in the 9 who isn’t a goal scorer, and a midfielder who offers as much as a car with no engine. I understand that he wants to make us more solid, which you could argue he has done, he’s got to try something different at the top end of the pitch, when he makes the changes they’re wrong, James coming off was just ridiculous, he would have complemented Carranza by running beyond the ten, but Ayew stays on and just continue to hamper our attack. We need to leave Ayew out all together and just see what happens. I’d rather see Page in the ten than Ayew.
  11. Also, can anyone actually explain what made West Brom look good? I thought they were awful.
  12. One of the biggest frustrations is we should be winning these games. The last two games Marti has made decisions that have cost us the three points. The goal conceded aside (which is obviously out of his hands)…. The selection decisions are becoming puzzling. Marti even said he sees James as an 8, yet, continues to play Soumare….. why? He brings nothing to the team other than a physical presence, and even that is wasted on him. Ayew continues to stunt our attack, we can’t fall into the trap of his effort means quality, it doesn’t……. His endless scrapping for the ball instead of passing it, his reluctance in general to pass a football, his lack of ability to run in behind, his consistent running down blind alley…….. and his zero goal threat to boot. But I fear the more get gets out of jail with late goals and defeats turned into losses, the more he will continue to play Ayew and Soumare.
  13. Wrexham are dog shit, simply have to be blowing these away.
  14. He’s making some piss poor calls at the moment. The decision to hook James and not Ayew is one of the worst calls I’ve seen. Persisting with Soumare when he brings nothing but backwards passing stats. Not trying Aluko when Thomas stinks the gaff out every week. And not at least giving Daka a try from the off. A lot a red flags are starting to appear with Marti now, the more “senior” players that return seem to be displacing the academy lads, these same “senior” players relegated us twice. I initially thought it was good management, becoming more diplomatic after the Preston loss, but now it’s just becoming counterproductive. We’re getting away with it because of a bit of quality, but that will only carry us so far. First time tonight I’ve been genuinely annoyed by him, k think this is the second game in a row he’s tossed with poor decisions. I thought West Brom were poor, a nothing team, that again with some better calls we could have won the game. Need to buck your ideas up Marti, this isn’t good enough at the moment.
  15. Oxford is the only situation where’s he is any good. So that largely makes his useless. He doesn’t complement our team or way of playing.
  16. Begovic Ricardo Faes Vestergaard Thomas Winks James Fatawu Page Monga Daka
  17. West Brom were dreadful in my opinion.
  18. You’d need to write a thesis to analyse that. In short….. Persisting with Ayew is killing our attack. Poor decision to sub James, completely removed any of our drive through the middle of the pitch. Carranza looks like Argentinas answer to Tom cannon. Daka probably has to start now or at least be given a chance. James has to start as part of the double pivot. Marti needs to sit down and have a long think about things. Again, we get away with it….Some poor decisions from him again today, it’s getting a bit annoying now. We were the better team in terms of our passing game, but it was largely ineffective for most of the game. Finally, Bobby Reid is god.
  19. Disagree. We’ve not been bad, we’ve just not been able to score.
