Everyone said the same about Birmingham, and we won that…. Also, the mighty Cov drew to Oxford too, with 11 men. Marti has started well, one thing we need to forget is the last time we were in this league. It was a completely different situation, we’ve just come off the back of our worst season ever in premier league history. Last season was nothing short of an embarrassment… he’s had to somehow pick it up, with a limited pre season, a shackled transfer window and only being able to get payers in on the final day. Marti deserves credit after he altered things against Preston, he is buying time for the lads to develop, whilst picking up points. The second half offers a lot of encouragement we were miles better with ten men, and may have even won it. Marti will see after today’s game that he has to play Winks and James, which I think he will do. Also think Ricardo will start going forward too. Im not getting on his back, I think he is doing a good job, considering the situation he’s been in, which I don’t think some fans realised it is as dire as it is. He’s grinding points out which at this stage is good. And I think we will beat Coventry.

But to play devils advocate we could have lost it too? Martin did the right thing today. I’d much rather we walk away with a point than risk losing it. Take the point move on.

Let’s just take a breath shall we…… First half was an abomination, however, I maintain it wasn’t a red card, and that arguably ruined the game. We weren’t brilliant before that, but we were by no means dreadful. Second half, a hell of a lot better…. What is clear is Winks and James need to be the midfield two going forward. Even Mardy Winks is too good for this league. Given the circumstances this isn’t a bad result, I’m bitterly disappointed we couldn’t beat them, because they’re by far the worst team we’ve played so far this season. It’s now time to sort the line up out, I can understand why he stuck with Skipp and Soumare, because Oxford are a physical team, but, it is clear that they’re not good enough to be starting games. Overall pissed off, because it’s a game we should be easily winning….. however, given the fact we were down to ten men, I’ll take the point. Second half much better, and that needs to be a core of our starting 11 going forward. The beauty of games like today, is you can see where we are weak and where we are strong, and the two halves even down to ten men were light and day. Weaknesses are good, because it offers the opportunity to improve, and we’re definitely better than this.

Get Skipp off and James on.
-
I’d get Faes on and shut up shop, on 70. Try and see it out for a point and maybe try and nick one in the break.

Ayew has been very good today.

Worst ref ever.

Completely disagree. 11v11 we were comfortable. Plus we don’t stand a chance, the ref is giving us absolutely nothing. Shocking decision to send off Ramsey, it was a foul but never a red, and ever since, he’s given everything to Oxford. These are my new most hated club, disgusting.
-
What a revolting team Oxford are.
-
The ref has ben horrific. The worst so far this season.
-
A really ****ing disappointing game this. Oxford are as bad as they come, even with ten men we should be winning. Winks, and James have to come on. Probably drop to a back three and look to counter.
-
Don’t be silly, they look ****ing garbage. It’s just been the typical slow start from us.
-
These commentators are a couple of bellends too.
-
The idiot was the ref. It was never ever a red card. It wasn’t reckless or dangerous, it was just a firm tackle. Yes it was a foul, but a yellow card at best.
-
The ref has been a ****ing disgrace.
-
Never in a month of Sundays is that a ****ing red card. Yellow at best, for **** sake.
-
Why is that a red card?
-
The midfield two again. No control whatsoever on that part of the pitch.

This team more or less battled well against Charlton, I’m expecting similar today. So I’m not unhappy with this team. There’s also options on the bench to turn the screw when needed.
