He was that bad I completely forgot about him. But you’re right, he was ****ing dogshit.

You are a troubled person.

Extremely frustrating game today. Overall, I thought they were there for the taking. I thought we were comfortable, and looked sharp in possession and there were some passages of nice play. They barely laid a glove on us other than a couple of half chances. The biggest issue up until the changes was Ayew, he simply can’t play in these kind of games, especially not as a striker. No one was occupying those Coventry defenders today, they were allowed to just strike the ball around nonchalantly without any pressure. Ayew was dropping far too deep, and we had nothing to work with through the middle other than James, who I thought was excellent today, and exactly what we’ve been missing… Then came the clanger, Marti’s subs. They were diabolical, completely killed any forward momentum. At that point Coventry were at their most vulnerable for me, we were getting balls in behind, and we were starting to break through their midfield. He then takes off James, who has been the best player on the pitch for me, and doesn’t bring on Daka? When you’re starting to really stretch that back line. It completely handed the game to Coventry, and it became very comfortably for them. We took away any of the energy in the middle of the pitch and then just had Ayew slowing the game down again as usual and there was no momentum at all towards the final ten minutes or so. Having said all of that, the performance was more together. The defence was much better and looked fairly untroubled bar one or two half chances. Today came down to poor decisions from Marti, it’s the first time I have thought that he got it wrong, because in my opinion they were there for the taking, I wasn’t impressed with them at all and some better calls from Marti, we would have won that game. He’s got to play James and Winks together, and he’s got to drop Ayew and try something else, even if it’s Bobby in that position or as part of a midfield three. And look to play Daka from the off so we can occupy defenders more. You’re never ever going to score goals when you’ve got Ayew stood in his own half scrapping for balls. So overall, not happy with today, not because we were poor, more because we should have won that if it wasn’t for some poor decisions from the manager. Edit for @Dahnsouff Mavididi was ****ing disgusting.

Faes is our best defender, regardless of the opinions of him.
-
I’m okay with this. I like the fact we’ve got options from the bench. I’m pleased that Faes starting and Ricardo and Winks. Not so happy about Soumare, but my main concern is Ayew and James together, they might get in each others way… but I’m not to disappointed by this.
-
Surely Winks has to start? At some point we’re going to need some quality in that midfield.
-
Don’t do it to yourself. It’s going to be Skipp and Soumare.

Like ants at a picnic.

I’m nervous now, not going to lie. This is the best chance they’ve got of beating us at home. We’re vulnerable, and they’re capable…… so I’m concerned. Id be less concerned if we could all sit here and say Ricardo, Faes, Winks, James and Carranza will all start… however, we all know deep down, the team will be exactly the same as it was V Oxford, with the only change being Ayew playing in the ten, and potentially Carranza up front. I think Marti is going to go completely reserved until he is 100% satisfied that he’s got control of this team. We will likely sit deep and let Cov try to break us down and hit them on the break. I’m going to go with 2-2 draw. Cov will end up 2-0 up and once Marti brings on the likes of Ricardo, Winks, James and Carranza we will turn it around. I’ve just got a feeling that Marti will be more pragmatic than we probably want him to be.

Just ****ing turn up, turn up, want it, win it.
-
There’s probably no one better than Winks at this level, and James isn’t bad either. So those pair together should be decent.
-
Getting a bit nervous now, I think this is as good a chance as they’ve ever had to beat us at home……. Just ****ing hope we’re up for it.
-
Marti is a pragmatist, which is evident from the early games. After Preston he’s definitely dropped us 5 yards deeper, so it actually wouldn’t surprise me if we see a similar set up for Birmingham. It wouldn’t surprise me if we do actually sit in and let you have the ball, and look to counter where we can. The biggest thing for us, is Winks has to start, we’re a different team with Winks in it, if Soumare and Skipp start you’ll have full control of the game and the ball. Its a real sliding doors moment in the season for both teams, you’ve slowed a little in the last two games, and we’ve been unconvincing but are picking up points. It’s either going to be a boring game, or one of us might blow the other away. Neither team can really defend, but both have capable attacks. I do however fear Wright, every time I’ve seen him play, he is an animal.
-
Our defence concerns me. I’m starting to worry that Okoli and Vestergaard are going to be exposed in games like this. Cov have bags of pace, and this is one of those games where Okoli’s wayward passing may cause us some problems.

Chuffed to bits with that performance. I’ve got a feeling Seahawks are going to be good or indifferent this season.

Loving Zabel’s work today…. He’s a great draft.
-
Wrexham will ultimately end up the whipping boys. The team they’ve built is hideous. Even the early season adrenaline has done them no good….

It’s been the start I expected. I think Marti has done a great job so far. He’s been managing the players perfectly, keeping those who want out on the periphery, and integrating youth. He’s come in late, had a far from ideal pre season, and has had to pick a club up that probably been in the worst state it’s been in for years, off the back of the one of the most humiliating seasons we’ve had to date. He’s had a restricted transfer window, and still has uncertainly hanging over his head now concerning FFP charges. Considering all of that he’s tried create a gritty team that’s hard to beat, whilst working on his ideology. Now the window has shut, he can look to reintegrate those players on the periphery and start to put his preferred 11 together. It’s been a positive start, and the bonus to me was yesterday, the second half was much better, and with 10 men we were comfortably better, and probably should could have won it. It’s clear now who should be starting, and I’m convinced V Cov we will see the likes of Winks, James and Ricardo start. The league is as shit as always, horrific standard of football, which is good for us, once we sort ourselves out, we will comfortably be one of the better teams.

He allegedly turned us down, as he didn’t think he would be a first choice. So, is that pathetic?
-
He did, but the game was ideal for him. He slowed the pace down and kept hold of the ball. He’s perfect in situations like that.
-
He’s been here for one game….. how exactly have you come to that conclusion already?
-
I personally didn’t see anything wrong with the challenge. It was a foul, but that’s all it was, a yellow card at most. Anyone deciding to write him off after today, take your head and wobble it….. he’s a good player and he will eventually be an important one for us. He showed little flashes of some lovely touches, given a proper run he will be good. Today, I think it was just down to him trying too hard, he’s tried to win the ball, just got it a bit wrong.
-
This lad today was about as useful as a shit in a sink today.
-
I didn’t think he actually played that badly today…… I think some fans at the moment are that desperate for us to fail, that any poor performance just gets met with a raging overreaction of “I told you so”…. I’ve got no grumbles so far, I just have one wish, to see James and Winks start from now.
