  1. Monga is going to be a superstar.
  2. Cifuentes will learn more from this game than anything else this preseason. This is prime RvN atm. It would seem any team that presses with bit more quality and athleticism we revert to type. Seen little of Cifuentes style of play so far this afternoon. Definitely work in progress.
  3. The Koln FC YT feed much clearer than LCFC’s. Can you someone with the technical know how explain why our feeds are subpar?
  4. Stiffy 🤣
  5. He came up against their captain, an accomplished left back. He looked frustrated at times and tried very hard, probably too hard. but he’s still very young and will learn a great deal from this experience.
  6. Karpaty Liv stream on Youtube much higher quality if you can bare to watch without the LCFC commentary 😹
  7. Cifuentes will learn more about the players from a match like this. We can see the players are trying to play to his system which is a positive.
  8. Spent time in Cambodia, stayed in Siem Reap to visit the amazing Angkor Wat Temples. Siem Reap literally translates as Siam Defeated. They’ve got a long history of conflict.
  9. We may just have stumbled on a very good manager. My optimism is however tempered by his comment about trimming the squad. Recent history shows the club aren’t capable of clearing the deadwood. I’d loved to be proved wrong.
  10. We defo need a striker. Daka has been such a disappointment.
  11. Huge credit to King and the conditioning and fitness team, the lads looked sharper and fitter than the Zalaegerszegi who start their season next week.
  12. Nice kit, let’s not have a betting sponsor logo on it shall we.
  13. Our starting line up against Sheffield Wednesday may look very different. He doesn’t want to start off by alienating many of the senior squad. Let’s give the guy a chance.
  14. Witness the Maresca masterclass against the best team in the world and contrast this to where LCFC are now. Wow 😳
  15. Ayew could be useful this season, the other two… meh 🫤
  16. Clever - Aiyawatt + Rudkin = Zero 🤣
  17. The level of ignorance in our FB fanbase is shocking and worrying. He’s not an unknown we’ve plucked from Serie C but even if we had it would have demonstrated the club has done their research rather pluck for a big name or lazy merry go round choice. If the so called fans had got off their arses and did a bit of google research they’d learn that Cifuentes is very much aligned to the club’s preferred playing style. He did a good job with a limited squad at QPR. He’s an exciting and interesting appointment, it’s a 👍’s up here.
  18. I think this appointment is a risk worth taking but the club and more specifically Aiyawatt has left the club on a precipice. The club spent an eye watering £80m on signings last summer and January windows including Fatawu’s permanent move from Sporting, plus big earners including Skipp, Ayew, El Khannouss and BDCR as well as Okoli, Coulibaly and Golding. It’s a lot of money spent for little return. If we are able to shift some players before the start of the new season, which is a big if, we have got to have an almost perfect transfer window 🤞
  19. You’re probably right but in truth no one knows but I imagine dealing with either Chansiri or Ayiwatt and our DoF would make any deal more complicated!
  20. Yeah, I wonder if they’re business rivals and don’t get on. I think we all assume because they’re both Thai that it would be straight forward, perhaps because they’re both Thai it’s the absolute opposite. Who knows?
  21. Great points. I am sure that football contracts are different from standard employment contract and probably much more complex. His ‘mutual consent’ agreement could have included some additional compensation payment, but I am not sure I would advise anyone to sign an agreement that requires re-payment of a compensation payment on termination in circumstances that prevent that employee from taking up new employment. It might be simply a recoverable tax payment. Under Post-Employment Notice Pay (PENP), this is the UK tax rules relating to when an employee leaves their job and receives a termination or severance payment.
  22. I don’t get this reference to ‘paying his own compensation clause’. He is and has been on garden leave. This is a term used in UK employment contracts to describe a situation where an employee leaving a job—usually after resigning or being given notice—is instructed not to work during their notice period, but remains on the payroll. If he is still under his garden leave notice period, like in almost every garden leave contract I have drafted, he is simply forgoing the balance of his notice pay because he ending his employment while serving notice. A garden leave clause enables an employer to either stop the employee from joining a competitor immediately on resigning or (more likely in this case) pay the balance of his contract termination notice over the period of his notice.
  23. FT is like a dangerous addictive drug atm. I keep checking in (taking it) anticipating and hoping it will give me a feeling of euphoria and joy, but all I get is the sense of unrelenting misery 😹
  24. Do you know if it was a TV or radio interview or news article. I’d like to see that as it is an incredible thing for a manager to say.
