FA Cup: Chelsea (A) 4-2 Post-Match Thread
Philkeavo replied to lnkstern's topic in Leicester City Forum
I hope yesterday’s performance is not informative of how we’ll fair if we get promoted. Looked good between the lines, Winks, KDH and Nididi all resembled Premier League players but honestly we were hopeless in defence and toothless in attack. That is exactly how Burnley look now. We’ll need a major squad rebuild which FFP is likely to scupper. -

Brilliant episode with Guillem Balague. Thank you guys really enjoyed listening to it driving to Watford this morning 👏 -
I hope the decision makers at LCFC are reading this. Loved reading the stories of young children attending their first game. It’s what’s supporting your club is all about. I remember my first game v Villa in 1976. Sat in the East Stand and I was in awe at the size of the stand and stadium 🤣 A lot the club’s fan pacification policies in the last few years have been baffling (lack of general sales) and have sowed the seeds we are seeing now with the subdued atmosphere. All clubs need new fans coming to watch their teams otherwise the support base can become stale which I think is one of our problems.

This exactly. Most of his passing was fine. People have short memories as Mads has made some poor passes during league games in the season with first teamers in front of him. What impressed me the most was that some of the shots were low down close to his body and for a big guy he gets down well. Very impressive imo.

Well said sir!

Coventry Away (13th January Saturday 3pm KO)

Hi, any ideas on where away fans can park? Sorry if mentioned earlier in the thread. -
Jakub kept us in the game yesterday with a couple of early solid saves. His distribution was more than decent given the personnel in front of him. Very solid display and I’d have to say we’ve definitely upgraded our keepers with young Mads and young Jakub.

Sit in West Stand block B. Always has been and probably always will be a bit more passive and sedate to the Kop end. The atmosphere though was much better especially in the second half yesterday. Fans stayed later than the Millwall game but as said by others still a mass exodus on 90. Can’t really understand why people don’t stay til the end and clap the players off. They deserve it for the season we’re having.

The club have to take a massive share of the blame. Their fan pacification policies over the past few years have led us to this point. It’s at the point now where so called fans stare in bemusement at other real fans that show any emotion. Depressing.

This. It’s like they are preprogrammed to leave 5 minutes from the end in the vain hope they’ll avoid the traffic just to get home and watch Newsnight wtf 🤬
-
I think this is developing into a real problem. The amount of fans who got up and left on 85 minutes was ridiculous. It was like there was a fire drill in a library. I am frankly embarrassed by some of our so called supporters. I wonder if everyone stayed to the end, cheering on this team that is breaking records, generating energy from the stands would have helped the players stay sharp and not concede the late goal. I think it’s telling the players and manager make a point of going to the Union FS supporters at the end the game. The same supporters the club tried hard to restrict creating a singing area. What the heck is going on?

The author of the advert needs a lesson in plain English - https://www.plainenglish.co.uk/,. What a load of doublespeak gobbledygook, bit like the job really, meaningless.

I believe in Enzo and the process. My observations are the passing is sometimes too slow and predictable. We have not looked like breaking teams down in the first hour and only when teams get tired in the last 20 minutes do we look really dangerous. We are still (and have been all season) vulnerable to the transition. Teams that are well set up and hold their shape find it relatively comfortable to play against us. For me, it is not the system it is the players. It is no coincidence that our performances and results have dropped a level without the option of Nididi and as each game goes by I feel we are missing Callum Doyle more and more. Justin has done okay mind but he is stop gap on the left side. You need technically gifted players to play Enzoball with pace and purpose. We are still in the driving seat so hope recent result are a blip.

I hope this just a dip. Too slow, it’s a limp anaemic performance so far. Need to step up if we’re to get something here.
-
Limp and lifeless performance. Enzo gave the players an extra couple of days off after OPR game I guess because he thought they were fatigued. I am not sure it’s that. I hate to sound like Brendan Fraud but we lack aggression and intensity. Hope it’s a blip.

Wrong thread bud, try here

Got the win but Sunderland run us close phew.
-
Don’t bring him 😂
-
Yes, it will be with the current squad. Should we win promotion 🤞we will need to invest heavily in players capable of playing Enzoball. Burnley are trying to play that way with a squad of players not able to make that step up. Nice problem to ponder…
-
Some finish that, a proper scorcher!
-
Perhaps we will go straight back up. To play this badly and still be winning by two clear goals bodes well.
-
This ref is an absolute disgrace how could he show a yellow card to Hamza for a perfectly timed tackle. Unbelievable.
-
It’s hard enough playing against 11 players let alone 12 with this ref.
-
I see what you’ve done there. If that was deliberate much respection to you too 😂
