I mean really, it'll be fitting for how far we've fallen in the Top era if, on top of our squad of failures, fake betting shirt sponsor and looming points deductions, we have a pitch that looks like the Somme for Marti to try and play passing football on. This was our pitch 8 years ago.

Premier League 2025/26 Thread

I already felt this way, but the money being thrown around at players in the Prem makes me sick to my stomach. Looking likely that even if they knock the price down, Isak is a £100 million + player. Living in this city and knowing how much squalor there is in Anfield and Everton, imagine if the football club spent even a fraction of that improving people's lives by improving housing, buying out slum landlords or providing education and charitable services for the community. Not that clubs don't do that, but when I think of Vichai finding £2 million down the back of the sofa to help LRI fund new facilities, it puts into perspective just how much potential good for the city is squandered for the sake of a few twats kicking a pigskin around. -
Unreal moment from an average player?

Yeah, ironically enough he looked good for about 14 seconds, before it became obvious he'd not kicked a ball for half a year. -

In the nicest possible sense, we failed to do the most basic due diligence. He was leaving Fulham on a free for a reason - because he was no longer good enough to even be a squad player in a mid-table premier league side. Considering he was (and still is) well-liked by Fulham's fanbase, it's telling that many couldn't believe we'd signed him. Last summer really was the most appalling transfer window we've had in 20 years. -

If Marti chooses to persist with Faes, I and many others are REALLY going to struggle with getting behind him. One foot wrong and he'll be getting Ward-type abuse. Vestergaard at least had the benefit of the doubt having barely ever featured for us prior to that season. Faes has been a key factor in two embarrassing relegations. I don't really care if he's 'good enough for' or in some fans' eyes 'above' Championship level. So are all our Centre Backs, and none of them carry his baggage or piss-poor attitude. Take any offer, cut the cord, don't let the cloud hang over us at a time when we need a fresh feel and everyone on the same page. The elephant in the room is that I doubt there's a club daft enough to make an offer our moronic board would accept.

That's interesting, I had completely the opposite impression when I went to Old Trafford. Horrid, plastic palace full of tourists and instagram drones, a few statues didn't really do their history justice. Didn't hear a single Mancunian accent until we left either. A ground I did once and that was enough for me - proper Paris Syndrome. Honestly feel for 'proper' Man Utd fans. Not only are they priced out of attending their own games, but their club is a global laughing stock on top of it. And I don't have some weird schadenfreude because they were successful in the past - we're basically going through a less publicised version of exactly the same thing right now.

To elaborate on my issue with it, it's that horrible thin trim line that appears to be present on each kit that ruins it for me. It really does just look like a template from a PS2-era game, like a low-res knock-off of the real thing. It just looks awkward and might as well not even be there, because visually it just cuts it up into chunks and looks cheap. I've not been the biggest fan of the shirts Adidas have done for us in general, think the partnership with Puma gave us some far better overall designs. But then I guess we should count our lucky stars that they're still our partner at all, because I imagine we're only still with them due to a long-term contract we probably can't get out of. I wouldn't put it past Whelan and co. to jump ship to something cheaper (Castore most likely) the moment our partnership is up for renewal. At least an Adidas shirt will last you a few wash cycles before it falls to bits.

Am I alone in thinking it looks really cheap and tacky? Not just the sponsor, the whole thing just looks like something I'd have whipped up in edit mode on PES 2008.

Amazing that I've managed to almost erase that fella from my memory only two years later. I've seen pensioners behind tractors get past their man more effectively. -
Shhh, don't let his defenders use that 10 second burst as "proof there's a player in there" Lazy bastard has also lost the ball three times in midfield in the last 20. He's gash.

Ayew will be fine at Championship level. Doesn't mean we don't need another striker if they're not giving Evans or Thomas a proper go there, because on that showing I don't even want Daka as backup, he needs to go yesterday. Anyone else only still watching now in case Abdul scores?

Bonehead can string three chords together, I'm not sure Skipp is that flexible

Harry Panayioutou vs Leeds final day of the season. He played about 5 minutes, scored the winner, then never played for us again. Must have the best goals to minutes ratio of any striker to ever play for us, Nugent for England stuff. -
Worst performance you've seen live from a Leicester player
OntarioFox replied to Jacob7839's topic in Leicester City Forum
Fullbacks have certainly been a notorious position both recently a d in years gone by. I can't pick which of Luke Thomas' performances away at Forest was the worst - at a time we needed the local lads to step up to the occasion he absolutely wilted. Twice. A fair few Justin performances to nominate last season too - thought he was particularly appalling when a terrible Man Utd team came to us and turned us over with ease. The worst I've ever seen for us though was Ryan McGivern, an absolute dud for us in an otherwise successful season under Pearson in 09-10. I remember him being particularly awful at home to Bristol City, when we were soundly beaten 3-1. Lad was a competition winner, got loans on the sole basis of being a Man City academy product, and now plies his trade in the NI Premier, which is about his level. Makes you realise just how astonishingly lucky we were to have Fuchs and Simpson in that form in that season. Ricky P is the only one to come close to those levels since. -

'You're shit ahhhh' isn't unique to us, most of the Yorkshire clubs do it. Pretty sure Sheff Utd and Leeds both do 'You shit bastard - ahhhhh'. Now larb flavoured sticks and t-shirt cannons? That's well lestah.

It desnae rhyme. It NEARLY rhymes but it desnae rhyme.

The chaotic evil in me would have had a right laugh with a timeline where we were still chasing Rohl, mind you. This place would be in absolute meltdown by now.

He's annoying, yes. But he was bang on about Enzo and his ceiling to be fair. Chelsea fans have two trophies and CL football to savour this year, despite having a similar dislike of his style to us. If Marti does half as well as Enzo with this mess of a squad (playoffs?) I'll be happy.
