Our style doesn't really help him, particularly recent years, we haven't got the ball forward much full stop and when we have he has been lacking confidence. We were so slow at getting the ball forward of into the box. Its not much use for any striker. I feel a more direct style might help him.

Think thats come about thanks to the way that football has kind of eaten itself. Football clubs have actively tried to alienate and replace loyal working class supporters, who wanted to stand on old terraces, with a bunch of wealth day trippers. That combined with the cost of a ticket and the amounts that players are paid, there a disconnect. Its an entertainment business and if fans are paying top notch they expect to be entertained. Its not the old era where fans would be connected with the club and back players who would give their all. In my opinion football is in trouble as the product the executives and tv companies want and the product the real fans want are 2 different things, football without real fans is a much degraded product.

Im sure I will be disappointed but I am actually looking forward to a game for the first time in about 2 seasons, even though it is a 12:30 kick off. To be honest the EPL and EFL have almost been as incompetent as our board in this matter, yes we have broke some rules somewhere but it seems due to the pure ineptitude of whoever wrote the rules is difficult to determine where and when for a team that's been up and down divisions. If there is no consistency in rules how can clubs have any hope of knowing what rules they should comply by. We are scoring goals from a lot of other places though to be honest. Our Strikers have been terrible, they style of play we have insisted on has been pretty awful too, as bar the odd worldy we haven't created many chances.
