  1. I'm not confident about his appointment, but, then again, I thought (along with most fans and the punters) that Claudio was going to be a disaster. Football's a funny game.
  2. I saw the Pies thrash us 0-4 at Filbert St on our return to the 1st Division in 1983 🤪. Unfortunately I missed the return game at Meadow Lane as my wife was in labour and City went on to win 2-5.
  3. Pep's next on their wish list 🤣
  4. Notts are my 2nd team as I moved from Leicester to Nottingham when a teenager and I've seen a lot of Notts games over the years with my friends (Forest out of the question 🤣). Great to see them back in Division 1.
  5. Simon Jordon stated On Talk Sport that the expulsion was specifically to do with spying during the play off semi-final and that the 4 points next season is separate concerning spying before league games with Oxford and Ipswich.
  6. I din't know much about Cardiff. I see they did well with high possession stats. Let's hope we can do the same 🤞
  7. I may be wrong, but I'm not convinced the keep ball tactics would work in Division 1.
  8. Don't we need a good Div 1 manager who knows what's needed, not EPL and Championship failures who haven't experience in the clogging league?
  9. Our last 4 managers have all failed to stop this car crash. It's the lazy prima donnas on the field that are the main culprits for the demise in the past few years. We need a complete reset whichever division we're in.
  10. Another difference is they haven't got a team full of lazy prima donnas just taking their massive salaries every week without any consequences if they fail.
  11. I suspect most people answering this thread are far too young to remember Frank McLintock. I can tell you it was grim, and, in my view, he was worse than Peter Taylor.
  12. The worst scenario is we get hit next season. Whatever the punishment, we need it this season so we can start next season with a clean slate.
  13. David Pleat 1990/91 was shocking. We would have been relegated to the 3rd tier for the first time in our history if there were 3 teams going down - it was reduced to only 2 relegation places season. In the final week we were 2nd from bottom, a win at home to Oxford saved us, and West Brom went down.
  14. For the remainder of this season we need to: • Forget about promotion. • Take the PSR hit. • Get rid of the high paid prema donnas. • Save as much parachute payment as possible - just do enough to ensure we don't get relegated. That should allow us to save enough of the parachute payments to give a better chance next season, hopefully without PSR hanging over us.
  15. They haven't played for a manager since Enzo.
  16. I remember that game against Notts well. It was the first (and last time) my wife went with me to see City, and, if I remember right, we lost 0-4, with Trevor Christy getting a hat trick and Martin O'Neil the other. Just my luck I missed the return at Meadow Lane due to the imminent birth of our first child, and we beat then 2-5 when Lineker got a hat trick 😧
  17. Many Blades fans appear to want Ruben Selles gone with Cooper as his replacement 🤔. Good luck to them 🤣 https://www.s24su.com/forum/threads/cooper-or-dyche.104756/
  18. Good irony 🤣
  19. It's probably good that the pundits expectations for Leicester aren't that high as it takes the spotlight off of us, for a short time at least. It's well and truly shining on Birmingham at present - TalkSport can't praise them enough.
  20. Quite a number of the lazy prima donnas from 22/23.
  21. Not too concerned what others think about us. I just hope we've reached the bottom and are starting the climb back.
  22. Mainwaring. "They don't like it up 'em you know"
  23. One pundit (I can't recall if it was Sky Sports or Talk Sport) thought it was because the Leicester job appeared to be going nowhere, and he wanted to keep getting paid, so he plumped for returning to Wednesday.
  24. Expectations need to be curtailed. Throughout most of our history there have many lows (I've experienced many of these over 55 years) punctuated by a few highs. The seasons following promotion in 2013/14 were unprecedented, and not usual. However, the highs always seem far better when you've experienced the bad times. It would be boring to follow one of the "big" teams expecting success every year and being disappointed every time they finish below 4th place.
  25. He scored quite a number of belters during his time with us - I witnessed quite a few at Filbert Street, particularly during the tremendous Div 2 championship winning campaign of 1979/80. He must have had fantastic timing and touch as he was quite lightly built and wasn't very tall.
