After International Break - Clueless as ever?
Collymore replied to Collymore's topic in Leicester City Forum
A joke right? -
Anyone else noticed the pattern of looking like we've done absolutely nothing to address the issues on the pitch after an international break? You'd think the club would be working around the clock to address our frailties, but we often look even more inept than before! Hope I'm wrong this time and Rowett has devised a cunning plan?
-
Yeah but would make me feel better!
-
Destroyed by spelling as always with these!
-
He needs to turn on the players and become a massive bad cop IMO. Managers have protected these players for years now and look where it's got us! They need a taste of reality and to be called out after each poor performance, lack of effort and individual mistake. Could have an even worse effect? Maybe. But I'm sick of this treading on eggshell way we've got. Call all the ***** out one by in the pressers!
-
A bit like Madders miss that got us relegated you get single moments like this that you could point to and say "that's when we were relegated" 2 point are absolutely massive and I wouldn't be surprised at all at the end of the season they'll come into play as what tip us over the edge. Can't believe we haven't planned for this and why Rowett would think "you know what, give a penalty to our worst striker in history who's got no confidence and is technically woeful... - especially if the scores 0-0 in a tight game where it's likely to win the game" Come on - we all knew the penalty was missed before it was taken didn't we? You really hope you've got someone that's willing to put their foot through the ball, firstly get it on target and soak up the pressure of the moment and if we haven't got that, Daka should be well down the list in that circumstance. James, Mavadidi, Fatawu, Winks, Skipp or even Lacelles should have been picked before "2 goals in 2 years" Patson. Pathetic planning. All seems very much "ah well - there's always next game" very much like the BR relegation season where we wrote off those two home games with Sadler! We deserve to get relegated with this pathetic club from the top echelons down to the tea lady. Bin them all.
-
...yeah but also he's got to read the room and not sprout utter nonsense to the press either ...
-
Just watched his presser. Not sure what Rowett's been smoking but he sounds in complete denial. If I was him I'd be laying into all of them and trying to get a reaction that way. Disgusting some of the praise he's giving them!

Connections - A Daily Word Game Based on Only Connect
Collymore replied to Sampson's topic in General Chat
Sometimes I get lucky. Choose 4 and get them correct but for completely the wrong reason! I'm seeing patterns elsewhere that must still be connected, so that's why it's a 4 but it's not to do with the meaning of the words or why the reveal reason had said! -
Nothing worse when both club channels on the firestick are set to Leicester so forced to listen.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
Collymore replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
As time passes I really do think that Ruud was properly shafted by us. To be fair he's been the only one who has really tried to focus on discipline and was willing to stick by his values. No wonder we seemed to suck the life out of him as only now do we realise the scale of the problem. That horrendous run we went on not scoring at home looks a little different now when you consider that actually we've been a L1 squad/club in all areas of setup for a while now. -
This is what I don't get. It was the same when we got relegated from the Prem under Rodgers - sleepwalking into it just letting games wash over us. Games around now should be like cup finals where you lay everything on the line and it's 'brothers in arms' Opposition should sense the occasion and know they're going to have to fight so hard to get anything from the game. Instead we roll over and get our bellies tickled. This is what you get with no leaders on the pitch. There's no way this would have ever happened under Pesrson - not only would he not accept it, he'd have formed a squad of mentally strong players and leaders. We're fundamentally screwed. Can't wait for the day we can get rid of this hideous squad and just mark it down as a chapter as being one of the worst pathetic squads in the clubs history and move on.

Thought Nelson got tripped?

Fooking play me you cooonts.

It's the environment not him. I'd be swimming away from this club like it's Alcatraz!

It's not helped that Monga, Page and Evans have had Cooper, RVN, Marti, King and now Rowett to work with in their short careers. Each manager has come in firefighting and thrown them in at some point but it all seems a little sink or swim - not sure that's called "blooding in" I'd prefer that than not being selected at all mind... as you hope you that you do find an absolute diamond that has the natural resilience to soak it all up and perform. Maybe Page has shown it a bit to be fair. -

I wouldn't class Choudhury as a good captain, a good role model or a well rounded individual personally and probably highlights the fact he didn't have good role models when he was coming through - "Tell you what Hamza, let's go and have a party during lockdown....okay" players like Madders his role model at the time... Maybe I'm being a little harsh on reflection, it's just young players that make it elsewhere seem to have more mental resilience and personality than most of ours but maybe it's only the top top talent that have that and it helps if they're being introduced to a well balanced squad with excellent role models - not Hamza Choudhury and Harry Winks. I just feel like getting hold of some of the youngsters and giving them a good shake and saying "you realise how lucky you are to be playing for the first team - savour it, fight tooth and nail for your place and show the world how much this means to you" -

Well that's the point. So you have a framework to build them into confident young men. -

Seems to me we are very good at spotting telent at a young age and have the facilities and know how to bring it through. We're great at nurturing that physical talent.... but there's something massively lacking with the mental/personality side in my opinion. Can't remember the last big resilient character who's been a leader that has come through? Monga and Evans seem very quiet and reserved - I'd love to see some personally and confidence coming through. I wonder if this is to do with a lack of role models bringing them through and letting them express themselves maybe? Seems to be a theme with alot of our youth really... Heskey - possibly one of the most shy youngsters ever. Monga - seemed to express himself with his ability but now that's been coached out of him there's not much to connect with. Evans - didn't seem to grab his chance at the start of the season seemed to let things wash over him. Barnes - Rodgers called him out for being a bit mentally weak. Chilwell - Wouldn't take a throw in at Millwall! Nelson - Hope he can be potential leader in the future but seems very quiet and introverted at the moment. Thomas - No comment. Think we need some work on the mental side. Top clubs have world-class players that probably understand this automatically but with our cretins promoting youth must be a nightmare in that toxic climate. -

Need to get him a loan and see how he does with real football. -
I like his style and aura so far... He's more to the point and is calling things out more than any manager in the last few years. Still a bit party-line for my liking though... He needs to work on calling out players and the board at times but hopefully that will come.... Pearson only told fans they've got 'delusions of grandeur' after settling down.. Then obviously personally picking fans off to FOAD after bedding himself in to be fair.
