The West Ham squad is good. Bowen, Alvarez, Kudos, Paqueta is a solid spine that a good manager could get a strong run of results out of.

To think we were obsessed with signing Potter for years... Awful awful manager.

We've crumbled as a club so quickly that you're delayed by about 4 years. We're no longer bottling champions league places, we currently can't score a goal at this level. It's not about being able to compete with the big boys any more, we can no longer compete with Nottingham Forest, Brentford, Brighton, Wolves, Bournemouth, Fulham etc. despite our wage bill being as high or in some cases even higher than theirs. Many of those clubs are historically smaller than us and typically sit in the championship or lower. The list of clubs that we are not going to be able to compete on the pitch with is growing every season, Ipswich, Burnley and Sheffield United are all run more competently than we are and are at a similar level, soon they will have outgrown us. I think if anyone needs to be realistic it's yourself, even the mention of top four and 15/16 reeks of delusion. That era is gone now, PL midtable mediocrity is now a dream that is unattainable for us for the foreseeable future. You might even go a step further and say that the club's position in the football pyramid is irrelevant as the club is going to be struggling to keep its head above water financially over the next few years and might go back into administration.

What tactical set up can you possibly employ with this squad of players? Can't play possession because we don't have enough quality, can't press because our midfielders/forwards don't have the energy, can't sit deep because all our centre backs are prone to error, can't counter attack because we only have one fast forward in Mavididi. We have a nightmare squad, even with tactical genius Enzo we would struggle based on our games against Leeds and Ipswich last season.

Why does it matter if Ruud was justified in freezing Winks out for not staying 1 day a week? Winks needs to be shifted even if he lived 1 minute away from Seagrave, he's a mediocre player on ridiculous wages which we cannot afford. I support him getting frozen out for that reason alone.
-
Liam Delap's overrated because he looks nice carrying the ball. He only has 2 more goals from open play than Vardy and 1 less assist. I'd bet on even this version of Vardy to get more over the rest of the season, sadly his finishing has been wank which is the only reason he hasn't had more up to now.

It goes hand in hand really. Football is a competitive sports where margins matter, the players need to be fully committed in order for us to compete. Sadly a lot of these players don't give their all, they drift off in games, lose their heads when they concede etc. We need a team that has something to prove and are ready to put everything they've got on the line. We need to build around our academy and stop buying washed PL players who's careers are trending downwards.

Good news, now do Faes, Kristiansen, Skipp, Coady, Soumare, Reid and Ayew. The clear out needs to start now.
-
I would invest our entire summer budget in paying off the losses to get these players out of the door.
-
We have taken out large loans from a predatory bank against the next 10 years of Premier League income, which we will not be competing in regularly. He also hasn't 'covered off our losses' he has written off some of our debts owed to King Power (i.e. himself) and converted it into equity i.e. the club is now worth more due to less debt so his ownership of the club is worth more should he be looking to sell. It's not unlikely that we sell Seagrave in the next few seasons and potentially have to go into administration due to being crippled by the loans and the dodgy sponsor going bust and not paying out.
-
We lose our best players all the time and replace them with worse but more experienced players! It's literally a staple of this crappy ownership that every time something goes wrong it's because the squad is too young, lacks leadership etc and they go out and buy experienced 'leaders' who had to take the step down because they're not good enough. I can definitely see us going for 'championship ready' players in the summer.

Our fans are referencing Sheffield United but what about Luton?

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
honeybradger replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
The thing is that if he showed some intention to clear out the muck, then no matter the results I would back him fully. What happened to the manager that benched Faes on his first game? We need a manager who treats these players like the dogmuck they are rather than giving them unwavering support whilst they put in record breaking poor performances. -
He averaged less than a point a game with Aberdeen most recently who are one of the better clubs in Scotland. He'd get nothing out of this mess.
-
What squad? Even Pep, Klopp, Emery, Iraola, Arne Slot wouldnt stay up with this squad. Fans, Vestergaard, Okoli, Coady as centre back options is unmanageable.
-
We will struggle to sell Hermansen in the summer. Decent shot stopper but can't command a box for the life of him.

"We were in league one" is the perfect slogan for KPFC.

No Game time for Monga / Rudd stands by contract if relegated.

Imagine being Monga and getting asked to train with a Premier league first team as a 15 year old then comjng up against the players in person and realising they're all shit. -
The clear out for the Championship push!
honeybradger replied to Sly's topic in Leicester City Forum
Winks is a championship player on PL wages. He also lost his form in the latter end of last season, who knows if we will get the same performance level out of him again. If there's a market for him we should get rid at the earliest opportunity. -
The clear out for the Championship push!

Would rather give Cartwright or Baybrooke a starting role next season, or choudhury if he's still around, or whoever's in our u18 side. Similar to Danny Ward there's no point using him if he's not at the level required, when he leaves us he will be off to a lower championship/league one side. -
The clear out for the Championship push!
honeybradger replied to Sly's topic in Leicester City Forum
Why are people so confident that Skipp will boss the championship? He's not the same player he was at Norwich, he had a major injury since then at Spurs that he never recovered from. If you compare his performances for us in the PL to Dewsbury Hall, Dewsbury Hall was a far better player for us (albeit not outstanding) which translated into him being one of the best in the championship. Skipp on the other hand I can see struggling to make an impact, he's currently a worse player than Choudhury who is doing well in the championship but not among the best. I rather play someone from the academy. -

Will Alves - loaned to Cardiff City
honeybradger replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
It's a DoF's job to plan the future of the squad and communicate with the players how they fit into those plans. That should involve discussions with the manager at that time of what the player's role in the squad is and what they see the future of that player being, especially when the player is looking to sign a new contract. If, for example, Cooper had said that Will would have a role this season and then didn't carry it through in practice then it would be Rudkin's job to communicate with the player and the player's family and give them assurances that there is still a revised plan for him. From the sounds of it they were left in the dark with lot of uncertainty of how Alves would take the next step in his career. -
Will Alves - loaned to Cardiff City
honeybradger replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
There were offers but not from teams the club considered at a high enough level. Still better than being left on standby in the first team yet never getting on the bench so no game time at senior or youth level. -
Will Alves - loaned to Cardiff City
honeybradger replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
It might be the fact that the club didn't allow him to go on loan in the summer, made a big deal of promoting him to the first team, gave him guarantees for him to sign a 4 year contract and then barely gave him any minutes, not even in the league cup against opposition lower in the pyramid than he is playing against now. We, or more specifically Rudkin, messed Alves around a lot in the last year.
