Bit rude to Matty James to even be compared to Winks. He schooled him last season at 34 years old even after all the injuries he has had. Winks has contributed similarly to this club with the likes of Soumare. That is the conversation he belongs in.

Whatever position he plays in will take minutes from an academy player. Which is fine if the senior player delivers but based on recent form he is likely to be another BDCR where we might as well have just played an academy player.

This is a gutting transfer from the perspective of those 3. At least one of them will struggle for playing time this season because of Chaplin coming in.

It was more understandable when Cooper, Van Nistelrooy or Cifuentes tried to make Faes work as a player as he wasn't as infamous as he is now. At this point his track record of letting managers down is so clear and obvious that it is just nonsensical for Martin to not pay it any heed and play him, let alone give him the captain's armband considering his relationship with the fans. It's just a decision that has caused needless controversy and which lacks any form of common sense.

I'm not sure if you've heard but we are not a club in the championship. Thanks to the underperformance of the likes of Winks, Vestergaard and Faes. If you can recognise why managers would choose to play these players surely you can also recognise that when these same managers have gotten more familiar with them that they fall out of favour, even getting frozen out. Even under Enzo who was the only manager to stick by them the fans were begging Faes to be dropped towards the end of the season as his constant mistakes eroded our 17 point lead on 3rd place. Under no circumstances can Faes be allowed to start in this upcoming season. You can state that most championship clubs would love to have him but the evidence would suggest that that is incorrect, based on both performances and lack of interest in the market.

Still got Faes, Okoli, BDCR, Skipp, Coulibaly, Thomas, Choudhury to offload. Probably forgetting some others as well.

That's another benefit of having so many academy players in the first team. The younger ones are going to get more opportunities going forward.

Based on how he was when he was a regular on foxestalk, it's surprising to hear Geoff Peters refer to him as a "shitweasel". He must have heard some very bad behind the scenes info about Winks.

Out of interest did you watch the game yesterday. Or for that matter have you not seen the last 4 seasons of Faes. He was all over the place against league 2 opposition, he might not even be good enough to play for us in league one. He is also in the conversation for our worst centre back ever.

Even if he is still here at the beginning of the season he simply cannot play if we want to be promoted. He got caught out multiple times by Bristol Rovers who are in league 2. I get a feeling he is going to be a bomb scare no matter how far we fall down the pyramid.

From vague memory there have been 4 or 5 games with Vestergaard in a Leicester shirt where the opponent were up at least 3 nil in the first half and could go on to score 9 but instead they stopped trying in the second half. Says it all really, Vestergaard is an ingredient in a recipe for getting battered.

We can't seriously be considering going into a new season with Wout Faes as our starter? We had this same "clean sheets" nonsense last season and it led to our relegation.

We have had games where when we went 2 goals down Faes would stop even trying to defend. Not to mention of his habit of throwing his hands up in the air and blaming everyone else when we concede. He absolutely does not care in the slightest and the day he leaves the club will benefit both on and off the pitch.

You look at someone like Coulibaly though and he would be a 3rd rate talent if he came from our academy. Someone who should be making his trade in league two or national league. Even Silko was better. Yet we spent £3mil on him when he had one year on his contract. Tommy Neale, who is probably our 4th best midfield talent behind Braybrooke, Page and Briggs outshone our £20mil midfield signing today. The recruitment at this club is just atrocious at the moment.

Thought Tommy Neale was quite good. Better than Skipp at least.

Coulibaly is good for a laugh at least.
