Salah is one of the best players in Premier League history and he had Bradley, Szosboslai, Macallister creating chances for him. When youre partnered with Wout Faes and Soumare it's impossible to keep track of him at all times whilst also covering any tricky runs from the other Liverpool players down the flank. Yes salah did find space a few times and should have scored but Thomas won the majority of their head to head duels which is about as much as you can expect from someone in his position.

Mavididi not playing for most of the season is criminal, one of our only players who is a threat going forward.

Some teams fight to get a shot on goal, we fight to work the ball back to the centre backs only for them to lose it off a long ball.

Why is Ruud playing Reid instead of giving Monga a chance. If an academy player had the season Reid has had he would be sent back to the youth teams or on loan.

Celebrating the last time we will play a club of Liverpool's calibre for a while.

Yh lookman was a huge miss but I also don't think Rodgers would get the best out of him like Gasperini has.

He was never as good as he was made out to be at the time. His movement and finishing isn't good enough for the PL, he just got a lot of the ball due to playing for a dominant Celtic side. It's similar to how most of our players looked class in the championship and poor in the PL, it's easy to look good when playing at a lower level.

Liverpool (H) - Pre-Match Thread (20th April)

What else is he supposed to say? -
It would have just delayed it. We would have just used the money to bring in more players that don't fit the squad and given players even more absurd contracts. For example in the summer of 2020 our main target that we missed out on was Odsonne Edouard. It's not like if we had the money we would have made good investments.

His success with Brighton makes more sense when you look at the team at his disposal. Macallister, Gross, Caicedo, Trossard, Lallana getting 8th with these players is really the bare minimum.

Will Alves - loaned to Cardiff City
honeybradger replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Alves is technically not a Seagrave product. He was 15 when it was built. The first Seagrave generation of talent is undeniably better than what came before it, it may be because of quality the training facilities or because Leicester could attract better talent following recent success. The question is how has this £100mil investment benefited the club, the first team has collapsed in performance and quality since it was built and it doesnt matter if we produce elite level talents if they just get poached by Liverpool and Man City anyway. If the likes of Monga, Evans, Page etc make it to the first team and perform at the level we hope they will then that will be a positive for Rudkin, just because he is overall a bad influence at the club does not mean some of his decisions won't pay off. -

Would he have been any worse than Ayew or Reid? I'm not so sure, at least alves has the ability to run at players and take them on. -

Dewsbury Hall didn't stand out much in the lower age groups but he was very good for the U21s in the year before he went out on loan. -

You would think people like Guy would rethink the way they see the game considering our strategy of bringing in 'PL experienced' players in the summer was an abject failure. Sadly he is a reflection of the state of the club at the moment where they all consider themselves experts of the game who shouldn't be questioned by the average fan. Yet somehow they keep evaluating players incorrectly and make poor transfers whilst the fanbase at large predicted the Ayew, Reid, Skipp, Okoli transfers to go wrong when they happened. -
Monga busy with GCSEs?
-
To be fair I would also be feeling down due the fact that he was completely unwanted by the fans here and has barely played. Just such an awful transfer that made no sense at the time and has negatively impacted both the player and the club.
-
He's very strong for his age and runs with power. You can see in this clip how he isn't phased at all by the stoke defender trying to contest with him physically while he is running with the ball.

Same height as Aguero already tbf. Not all strikers need to be good in the air if they can shoot well and create chances for themselves.

I'd still rather have Ruud. If we keep Cooper then he pushes for that 'goalkeeper to challenge Hermansen' in the winter transfer window that he was allegedly so desperate for, leaving Stolarczyk in the wilderness. We would be going down either way, I couldn't have handled any more pointless Cooper-led signings. -
He was lined up to make a 60 mil move to PSG in the 2020 summer before his injury happened.

It's pretty normal for the some of the best strikers to start out as wingers. Van Persie, Henry, Lewandowski all started as wingers, im sure there's more. His skillset is more valuable as a striker in my opinion, it's harder to find a striker who can drive with the ball and run in behind than a clinical winger.

Steve Cooper did one worse and opted to play Choudhury at CAM in pre season instead of giving Alves a chance. That man actively did not want Alves to succeed in order to force the club to bring in new signings. Cooper will always be one of our worst ever in my mind no matter the revision around him.- 713 replies

He's playing well against championship opposition despite looking raw, which is good to see as it means that there is still room for improvement. -
The key difference is that Leicester were in the championship last year. Faes was still the same player making boneheaded decisions under Maresca, we just weren't punished by championship sides for those mistakes because most of the forwards in that league couldnt hit a barn door. Look at our game against QPR this season for example, both teams at full strength and we blew them away. Last year Leicester struggled in both games. Even with Maresca we brought in Coady, Winks and Cannon for far too high transfer fees and in Coady and Winks case far too high wages. The pile on of dead wood at this club will continue until Rudkin is gone.
