  1. There's also the fact that he's been on and off the injury table for a while. His quality now probably doesnt reflect the quality he showed when playing for celtic.
  2. If edouard plays in that 15/16 team instead of vardy leicester dont win the league, similarly i dont think edouard would score 23 goals for leicester this season either. Vardy has scored 100 pl goals faster than drogba, fowler and a few other pl legends who i dont remember whilst playing for a non top 6 side, scoring 11 goals in 6 games at france u21 and 21 goals in the scottish premier league doesnt hold a candle to vardy's achievements.
  3. Better than the best version of vardy though? Vardy scored 24 goals 6 assists in 36 appearances and won the league in a side that were relegation candidates.
  4. Yh i guess youre right, i think europa league should give him the opportunity to get a run of games at a decent level level though.
  5. ****ing christ
  6. He hasnt played more than 1000 minutes in a season yet, it's hard to consistently get a run of games when youre competing with aguero and vardy for playing time.
  7. Werent they in financial trouble when we signed him and that 25 mil helped keep them afloat? It's not like we robbed them 25 mil for an injured championship player is a decent amount of money.
  8. In that case mahrez isnt algerian either, he's french.
  9. No i just want to keep iheanacho but edouard is looking good i might have been off the mark a bit.
  10. Eh you might be right tbh, he's a lot more mobile than i remember him being the game i watched.
  11. No im saying i want iheanacho, if we were to get rid of him i want someone much better/more experienced than edoaurd. He's not the massive upgrade that everyone on here thinks he is it's just a case of greener grass. Some people just watch youtube highlights and think cos they see him dribbling 2 SPL defenders then hitting the far corner he's going to be world class. I watched a few celtic games in europa and he was standing in no mans land/getting in the way of his teammates way too much for my liking, in contrast to someone like vardy who is constantly moving into space/making room for his teammates. Edouard is still young and inexperienced and may turn out to be a top striker but right now he's not worth binning our players for.
  12. I just dont think being better than moussa dembele equals world class potential. For me theyre both lacking in the most important attribute for strikers and that's off the ball movement/poachers instinct. I think an actual top quality striker who finds himself in better goalscoring positions would have no problem getting to 20+ goals with players like auoar/ndombele/fekir feeding them.
  13. Im not saying he's bad, but he's also not that good and not the yardstick to compare forwards by. Despite where lyon finished in the league theyre one of the best teams in europe imo, a top quality striker should be scoring 20+ goals for them, i wouldnt be surprised if when they sell him they actually get a better striker.
  14. I dont understand why people are comparing him to dembele and using him as the benchmark for a world class forward, dembele is in an incredibly stacked lyon side (auoar, depay etc) and only getting 15 goals in Ligue 1, he's really not very good, not worth half the hype he gets. If edouard is better than dembele that means very little. From what ive seen from edouard he's got poor off the ball movement, he's not a very good finisher, he's a good dribbler but do we really need a striker who can dribble? Iheanacho might not be world class but if we're going to get rid of him it has to be for a much better player than edouard.
  15. Unfair to perez, he's had a poor season and still gotten 8 goals, we're just not the right team for him. I think if he went to a team that played to his strengths he would be excellent.
  16. You lot have had a decent break and are one of the fittest teams in europe. With there being 1 leg per round i think youve got an ok chance of winning it.
  17. Which is why we should back iheanacho who's a known quantity, rather than some bloke in another league.
  18. Looks like a vodka ferran torres.
  19. Theyre completely different players though, perez is more of a second striker, brooks is more like a wide midfielder like barnes. For me the biggest difference is that brookes actually passes the ball from outside the box to players inside the box unlike perez who stands inside the box and links up with other people around him. Independent of brook's quality as a player just having that creativity from wide areas instead of cramming the box like we do with perez will be a gamechanger.
  20. Vardy was a lot further back in his development though, Vardy's natural ability is very high but he was unexperienced at 25 so he still had a lot of room to improve. Benrahma has 7000 minutes in the second highest division, obiviously he's still learning but i dont see him making a vardy like improvement over the next few years into a world class winger. Im not opposed to his signing but i dont see him being this massive revelation when barnes was more impressive in his stint at west brom than benrahma has been this season at brentford.
  21. Which was completley justified, Gray was really good for his age, if he'd been developed properly he would have been sent to the championship on loan where he would get more gametime and more space to make mistakes, like barnes did. Brooks has already proven he's PL quality and his 18/19 season is better than anything Gray's done.
  22. Was widely considered as one of the biggest young talents in the PL last year.
  23. Yes give me another barnes please, 22 years old and looks like he could be scoring 10+ goals a season in a few years if he fixes up that finishing.
  24. Maybe if there's all these people that rate him so highly there might actually be something to him?
  25. He is 25 at the start of next season and has 17 goals 9 assists in 43 appearances. Last year barnes had 9 goals 6 assists in 26 appearances in the championship. When mahrez was benrahma's age he had 17 goals 11 assists in the PL and was PFA player of the year. Dont get me wrong benrahma is a good winger but he's not the player to take a team who is aspiring to break into the top 6 to the next level, and with him and potentially barnes on the other wing we're going to need 10+ quality chances a game to score as neither of them can finish. For me he would do well to perform at a midtable club before he makes it at a club with our aspirations, there's a massive difference between being quality for a top 3 championship club and a top 8 PL club.
