We are certainly not rivals of Chelsea. I would say any of the top 6 teams would now be happy to sell to us with no really threat. Especially for players not in their plans.

Yes they had this problem 18 months ago and have now sorted it. So will we I expect by this time next year.

From where we are now, squad size, wage ratio, confidence in manger, if we got that I think it would be a dream window from this point.

Everyone talking about what chelsea are doing with their centre backs. Makes no difference to us. We will not be in for colwill at all. He will probably go to palace or some other team who have not screwed up the whole structure over the last 18 months. Some real bargains to be had this year, prices are down and we are not to be seen. I think our squad will be ok to finish top half still this year. However, we could have done with getting some more assets in for the future.

Hopefully for the likes of vestergard he would take a lower wage at a lower level team to ensure a place in the World Cup squad

Sometimes he isn’t that bad and think he probably gets more flack than he deserves. I think if he was cheaper or anywhere near his market value he wouldn’t have it so bad. A lot of people mention his hat trick against Southampton but let’s face it we didn’t need his goals then, we need them when its 0-0 and it doesn’t come. How many times I have watched him come on and frustrate me with his touch and decisions about 5 times in first 5 mins. Would love to say see ya but doubt he will be gone.

Doubt we will get any fee for him, will go on loan just to get rid of wages. The market seems good value this year, prices have dropped and that would impact this transfer. We would do well to get any fee at all or get rid of 100% of his wages.

No chance we get any money for him. Especially if he is linked to Turkish teams. They will want a loan with us playing lot of his wages. Any way to get him out of the squad is good for us at this stage although the whole situation is not ideal.

We won’t even get his wages off the books if he goes on loan, no doubt we will pay a percentage of them anyway, doubt there will even be a loan fee. This deal will be nothing more than damage limitation.

I agree with it somewhat but Bertrand was not that player. The reaction from Southampton fans could tell you just that. They couldn’t believe he has managed to get a contract at Leicester, said his legs were gone and they couldn’t have been more right. I agree we could have done with a player of that ilk but I think a lot of people could see at the time Bertrand wasn’t the answer. Shame Leicester could not see that. He in some good money as well.

We won’t be in for him now, we can’t shift anyone on at the moment. It would sting if he ends up at leeds, genuinely the best we can hope for now I think is he just doesn’t end up in the prem or he does and flops. 😂

He is going no where, collect his massive pay check and just sit on bench or treatment table. One of the worst free signings in our history. Got this very very wrong, paying for it now.

It’s a shame, whether the signings are Rodgers or not, we have got the majority of them wrong in the last couple of years and it caught up with us a little. No have average players on top wages. Shouldn’t be in a position after 2 European campaigns and a top 10 finish in the prem to not have any money whatsoever.

If someone offered us 10 mill for Perez and we don’t have to pay any of his wages that would be a dream. Personally don’t think that will ever happen.

Yeah maybe your right im not sure why I perceived it, I think the academy players coming through maybe give that impression. I just like the model of buying very young player from the championship. Palace have bought 3 teenagers from there daily recently at good prices that are all pretty exciting. Rodgers has only even signed 1 teenager for the first team I believe In forfana and it has worked perfectly. So shame we don’t do it more.
