  1. As much as the narrative is we are playing awful, two chances that 8 times out of 10, Vardy bangs in.
  2. Not terrible but very disjointed. Way too many 50/50 balls played into space when we should be playing far safer and keeping the ball. Wilf looks leggy
  3. We don't keep the ball anywhere near as well as we did earlier in the season. Yes at times it was overly cautious but it allowed us to create space and drag the opponent around. Now we are playing risky passes and our 8s and wingers dont seem anywhere near as connected as they did
  4. Probably will be Gibbs-White if the market is there for him. Maybe Murillo if not, signed for £12m on a 5 year deal, so around £20m for him could work for them.
  5. Think he's handled the FFP/Embargo question as well as you can there.
  6. Probably highly optimistic, but Samuel Iling Junior wants to leave Juventus and would be absolutely perfect for us.
  7. I agree, and in short I suppose that's almost the plan, to reduce transfer fees and stunt the growth of wages. It will create quite a stagnant pool of the larger clubs having more spending power, but should at least be easier to track and follow as a fan. Personally I'd advocate a fixed squad wage cap based on the leagues TV deal revenue, and any extra spending should be fully backed by money set aside by owners in a fixed pot held by the relevant authorities. Annoyingly, this is a massive case of fixing the stable after the horse has bolted and I don't see a remedy that fixes the issues already in place. Bigger clubs will always have an advantage, and in reality they should do. The tricky bit is ensuring safety of a clubs future without stunting ambition.
  8. https://www.footballbenchmark.com/library/overview_of_the_new_uefa_financial_fair_play_regulations I'm presuming this is still accurate, but in short it's 70% of revenue (tv money, prize money and player profits) can be spent on player costs (wages, transfers etc.). In my mind better than FFP as doesn't keep to a fixed amount of £105m in 3 year period, it will however, naturally favour bigger clubs.
  9. Clubs definitely have shifted mindset to realising this is a proactive way to boost their FFP position. I'd love to see a benefit given based on academy products playing time to counteract this.
  10. Watched Jordan James pretty closely last night for Wales. He still has improvement to make but feel he would really suit us as the wilf style 8. His positional discipline was better than I thought it would be.
  11. You maybe correct, however if I remember rightly, Chelsea could sign Kovacic during their embargo as he was loaned to them the previous year and therefore was registered pre-embargo. The main issue will be, we are likely only unde embargo for next summer if we remain in championship, and if that's the case I doubt we spend £15m+ on one player.
  12. Congrats!! Main advice, is continue to do what you love and take them along for the ride. Be fully prepared that it won't be the same as when you travelled as just the two of you though. (Not saying better or worse, but obviously provisions have to be made, and those provisions are greater the younger they are). We waited until our first was 18 months, but no reason for you to wait any longer than you want to. Flights the obvious annoyance but not as bad as most make out.
  13. Depends on our points deductions really doesn't it, if it's a 10+ deal, we will be best off going for young Championship talent with the hope of dominating to promotion the following year. Jordan James, Ronnie Edwards etc.
  14. Or Mark Robins. Both would be top of my list
  15. Because he can blame it on all the noise around the club at end of season and point to his opening 6 months. If he blows it this year, I struggle to see him putting that right next year.
  16. Fiorentina when Italiano goes to Napoli in the summer.
  17. Anybody else just really looking forward to seeing us play football?
  18. I think he walks, would be a fool to stay in all honesty.
  19. Happy birthday Brenda Nout vibes
  20. I think he's excellent, and any top tier side wanting a ball playing keeper should be all over him, but I just don't think he's built that reputation outside of our fan base yet
  21. I agree, and that's why I think Coady, Winks, Souttar and VK would stay. The others, I think we would probably get close enough to amortised price to get them out.
  22. You may well mean the same thing, but we are desperate for profit and cost cutting, not cash. Hermansen will be on pretty modest wages compared to the rest of the squad. As much as he's highly rated here, I feel he's not been as noticed around the country and won't be on too many people's list yet. Not enough for someone to drop the 15-20m it would likely take.
  23. Ironically. We probably have a stronger squad after an embargo than if we don't. If we don't go up and can freely move players I think Ward, Iversen, Faes, Justin, Thomas, KDH, Soumare, Ricardo, Albrighton, Daka and Vardy are all off. Question marks over Coady and Winks, Hermansen stays either way for me.
  24. I like Enzo, still think his style is really interesting and he's done a great job coaching it to our players. I agree he's a little inflexible though. I do see him walking in the summer regardless of what happens, can imagine he feels very let down by what's going on, and there's not many ways he benefits from being around next season.
  25. But, at no point are you paying the cost of amortising the cost of those players, as they never cost a transfer fee. Agree that something could be in place to encourage more youth production, maybe a sliding scale of overhead costs taken into account based on academy minutes given in the season. (For example, 0.1% reduced from your costs for every 90 minutes and academy product plays would really benefit good academies, and also make those players more important to the clubs, giving them way more leverage in contract negotiations than they currently have)
