  2. 9. How clear is the Club's footballing identity? (defined by characteristics such as style of play, players and management recruitment profile, philosophy etc) Very Fcuking clear! Style of play: 4231, pass it round the back and concede a sloppy goal (preferably from a set piece). Repeat. Player recruitment profile: Anyone willing to accept an absolute packed to do fcuk all, preferable if they're an absolute c**t as well. Must be selected from the Wasserman end of season sale (at no discount). Manager recruitment profile: Literally anyone who will take it, must bring Winksy back into the fold, again.
  3. Sunday's an interesting day to go, I've been a couple of times on the Sunday and it's a weird one between splitting seeing your favourite players and watching the leaders. The good thing is that unlike on Thursday and Friday, when all of the big names are grouped together, they are a bit more spread out. My advise would be get there early, pick a couple of earlyish groups that you like the look of, and follow them for 5/6 holes at a time. The leaders don't start until quite late so you should have plenty of time to get round the whole course before they've even tee'd off. Watching the leaders shot by shot is borderline impossible, it's so busy, my advise for this would be to get a few holes in front, pick a decent spot, and watch the last 5 or 6 groups come though, and repeat. As has already been suggested, something like a par 3 where you can watch them play the whole hole is a good option, if you get a decent spot in a grandstand you can sometimes see them tee off on the next hole as well which is good. Don't know how it works around the 18th nowadays. In the past you could pile up just after the leaders had made the turn and you'd probably get a half decent view of the 18th green, which is quite cool to see, especially if it's tight, and you can watch the trophy presentation. But wouldn't surprise me if that's changed and it's now just corporate and specific tickets. Enjoy it, it's a great day out, there's not many (if any) other sports where you can get so close to the players, you can literally hear them chatting to their caddies.
  4. Whilst I'm no fan of LIV, it serves a purpose in that it means I'm only exposed to Bryson 4 times a year. For that reason, and that reason only, I hope the above is not the case.
  5. Nah, the winters in Russia are too cold and long, he wouldn't be able to golf for 6 months of the year.
  6. Honestly think his best chance is to keep hitting driver and being aggressive, I don't have the stats to back this up but it feels like when he tries to dial it back and hit 3 wood off the tee he's no better off for it. Augusta is pretty forgiving off the tee, you can't get yourself in to too much trouble as long as you play sensibly if you do get slightly out of position, and his short game is massively slept on. But I'd back him to figure something out on the range overnight and drive it much straighter today. The fact he birdied all of the par 5's yesterday and was only able to go for one of them in two bodes very well. Following up yesterday's score is big, if he can get something even just a couple under today it would be massive.
  7. Agree on BDCR, whilst he blows a bit hot and cold, I think when used correctly he's a useful squad player at this level (not in the prem though). And certainly doesn't seem to be a bad egg a la Jordan Ayew. Probably being paid on obscene whack though knowing us.
  8. Why does he look like Boris with spray tan?
  9. Whatever you do, always remember to divide the price of any golf purchase by 2 when telling your wife how much it cost. And get stuck in at the comps as soon as you get your official handicap, don’t worry about waiting until you’re ‘half decent’.
  10. If you guys ever brought out your own merch, would 100% buy a t-shirt in the sausage roll style, but with Ric alongside some spaghetti with little sausages.
  11. The rest of his game is still pretty elite, and how you manage your way round the course at Augusta is a massive factor, which he also is very good at. But his superpower has always been his iron play, particularly distance control. With his approach play being around tour average this year I'm just not sure I fancy him the way it's been going. Having said that, would not be surprised in the slightest if he wins and wins comfortably. At 7/1 I'd be seriously considering a punt.
  12. Like the chances of Cam Young, Ludvig, Fitz and Schauffele usually goes well round Augusta as well. As much as I'm not a fan of the guy, fancy P Reed to go well too. As always, a Corey Connors top 10 is the safest bet in sport. Scottie's approach play is way down this year which is usually the biggest factor at Augusta. Hopefully we get a firm, fast Augusta.
  13. I love that fact that he's chosen 7 pictures to include, and one shows him on the phone, paying no attention to his wife, while she's a good step behind. Surely that can't be one of the best 7 pictures of his trip!
  14. Have very nostalgic memories of waking up early as a youngster to watch the Malaysian GP, would love to see it again. Always enjoyed Turkey but can see why that wouldn’t work as an alternative this year. Thought Portugal was decent during the COVID seasons, think that’s back next year isn’t it? Other than that it’s a travesty there’s nothing in either France or Germany nowadays. Would think Aldi and Merc would want a German race.
  15. Need a good start from Kimi tomorrow, another dud and it will become a thing. Fully expect Hamilton to lead into turn 1, but if he can stay ahead of Russell it will do his confidence world of good.
  16. That was my thoughts exactly, will give it a watch over the weekend.
  17. Anyone watched the new Theroux documentary on Netflix? Part of me is very interested, but I also know that it will really wind me up. As someone with a very young son, all of the 'manosphere' stuff (Tate etc) absolutely terrifies me.
  18. The guy’s been absolute pony for us, and I can’t wait to see the back of him. But to be fair to him, we as fans were never ‘having him’ from the very beginning and I’m sure he picked up on that pretty early on. Unfortunately for him, he’s sort of become the poster boy for that summer under Cooper where and we now find ourselves as a club. Not that I’m defending the 5 managers now that have decided to give him significant game time, and his application, particularly recently, has been an abomination.
  19. I’m sure Ant Middleton is going round all of the beach clubs and Hyrox gyms rounding them up to fight back as we speak. (Edited to say that obviously it’s not funny when any civilian is under attack, but there’s definitely a certain irony that a good number of influencer, forex trader and general right wing grifter types that left the UK because ‘it’s on it’s ar$e’ and ‘not safe anymore’ are having to sleep in their hallways away from the windows because they’re literally coming under fire from ballistic missiles)
  20. Jordan Ayew might be the only thing I hate more than temporary greens, most of the time I'd rather not bother.
  21. The bloke just does not care, says something that the most passion we've seen out of him at any point was his response to the Palace fans at the end of the game last season.
  22. Longcliffe was closed all weekend, although is apparently open today with only 2 temps which I am surprised about given how cautious they've been so far this winter. It does normally drain pretty well to be fair. The Belfry really suffers in the wet doesn't it? It must have been really bad for them to offer you a voucher considering how much £££ they like to squeeze out of every customer there.
  23. I have had this thought, not sure it's the entire motivation but I think the idea that this plays out for a while and he can then declare an emergency would be more than just a 'happy accident'. He/they'll then point to the fact there haven't been elections in Ukraine as justification. Also, and I'm no expert in this field, but part of me thinks he's quite happy for the Straight of Hormuz to be closed as surely this pushes up the price of his Venezuelan oil?
  24. Who knew Steven Nzonzi was still a thing? Half expecting Bojan and Jonathan Walters to come on at half time.
