  1. Shows how much power Rodgers had by this time, he'd been given full control. It's been reported that they weren't getting on - doubt Top or Rudkin would have let him go if it was their call, despite the FFP pressures.
  2. I think there is something about the fact he was at his best for us a) in a two up top b) without fans in the stadium. We'll never know if he'd have taken that chance vs Spurs for 3-1 if the fans weren't there. He's such a confidence player - his stats at one point for goals and assists compared with Messi - but the current system doesn't lend itself to helping the central striker as they move into midfield regularly with the midfielders often more advanced. Even when you take all that into account, he has been disappointing this season. The talent is there, just don't think he's going to be a reliable player for us.
  3. Exactly this - the PL will have wanted to delay this as much as possible and this is the least worst time for Everton to get this punishment.
  4. Yeah, don’t get that - it was four at most yesterday but the general point is sound. Some of our fans have become so jaded. This was going to take time - Klopp, Guardiola took time to implement their vision. And when you think about our player turnover, it’s incredible to have done so well so quickly. I enjoy watching our play and the best should still be to come when the players get better with more practice.
  5. Posted in another thread but relevant here:
  6. Some perspective:
  7. Not clear, maybe January? But it’s highlighted we don’t have left-footed cover. Think he sees Justin as better suited to cover Ricardo.
  8. Yeah, I think a LB/LCB will come as a priority, plus potentially another striker and midfielder if sales happen.
  9. Doesn’t say much here!
  10. The official website article is clearer - Yunus did train but felt something in his muscle so they didn't want to risk him for this match. Ndidi definitely out till after the international break.
  11. Disagree, Wright has been vocal about how much he likes Leicester - just look at what he said in our FA Cup win. Without the context of Soumare's mental health issues combined with Rodgers' mismanagement, you can see why people would make similar comments.
  12. The PL is so weak this year - you've got nine clubs that are clearly above the rest, and relatively poor sides being promoted. If they do get a 12-point hit, annoyingly their chances would be a lot higher of staying up this season compared to the previous one.
  13. We know he had it in his locker (e.g. the standout performances vs Wolves, away at Spartak, Liverpool in the league cup, Man Utd at home etc.), but mentally he wasn't strong enough and would check out too often. Hopefully he gets that consistency.
  14. Enjoyed that given the how the referee was so favourable to Liverpool earlier in the week.
  15. Not excusing those fans but didn’t most of them back Suarez over racist comments to Evra? It’s the sheer hypocrisy that is most annoying about Liverpool - for a supposedly worthier than thou club, they backed the super league and quick to try to fire employees during lockdown.
  16. Get in! Brilliant win
  17. I suspect so, he lives at Seagrave! I think it's not really taken on board how involved he is in the club and how dedicated he is.
  18. Excellent video, let's hope they pick up that momentum again. There's always something special about seeing homegrown players excel in the team.
