  1. BBC RL confirmed a deal was negotiated with West Ham but they changed their mind. So the rumour was true, West Ham were looking to sign Faes.
  2. He's been edgy since he got injured last season, was superb at the start of it. His performances in goal, alongside Fatawu's wonder goals plus James' finishing were keeping us going in the top half. And then all 3 of those pillars fell apart for different reasons (James through injury).
  3. Owynn from RL reporting that he has confirmed it! Just waiting for clearance.
  4. Know where you're coming from but we just need to drain the swamp and remove the stench of the past few seasons of players who allowed the last couple of seasons to happen. The culture needs resetting, hoping Thomas, Faes, Mavididi and Skipp follow soon.
  5. I'd say January 2023 was our worst window. Things were still salvageable, but wildly, instead of going for a goalkeeper, we focused on trying to spend over £20m on Harrison because Rodgers thought we needed another creative player! Yep, Ward had a decent run before the international break but was woeful again after the league resumed. Not only that, all 3 signings we made - Tete, Kristiansen and Souttar - were failures. The fact we had such high wages, and were expecting a European spot started the spiral. Bournemouth had similar challenges and they signed Zabarnyi, Dango, Vina and Semenyo, while Forest went all in to get Navas from Real Madrid - both sides finished above us. I'd say Summer 2024 was our 2nd worst, we're still paying the price now but at least we got Bilal who was decent signing, albeit not particularly loyal! And then the Summer 2016, when we spunked the opportunity to build on our PL winning season, and wouldn't get to competing at the top for another 3 years. Summer 2022 was pretty bad too - all the signings failed - which meant we failed to get European football, and screwed us when it came to PSR, leading to a lack of activity in Summer 2023, and an alienated Rodgers. Actually, think that's worse than Summer 2016 as at least we recovered from it within a few years. So overall: 1. January 2023 2. Summer 2024 3. Summer 2022 4. Summer 2016
  6. The basics are you have a strong goalkeeper and reliable forward, building from there. It’s incredible we haven’t invested in those positions yet again, relying on only having Bristic as a recognised striker is a huge risk. Instead, they’ve prioritised lots of ‘8’s - we have at least six players who can play that position.
  7. Don't like Storey's stuff usually - he seemed to take pleasure in speculating about our potential points penalties - but this article is spot on. Nicely written and reflects how we feel as a fan base.
  8. I think what’s being suggested here is that Red Bull have a relatively small shareholding in Leeds so easier for them to sell it if there is any truth in the rumour.
  9. Not rumours, been reported as below 10% as they have to publish more transparency if they have a higher shareholding. https://www.cityam.com/red-bull-diluted-energy-drink-giant-reduces-stake-in-leeds-united/
  10. Didn't Wilder say another bid had gone in at the weekend? Would be surprised if this impacted them going ahead with the deal as they would have known it was a likely scenario but Souttar may be more attracted to Wrexham if they're still in for him.
  11. Percy confirmed that Jordan James is going to Wolves. Good luck to him, hopefully one day he'll return.
  12. Hey @Ric Flair. Thought it was a really good pod this week. Had stopped listening after last season's comments about wanting to see the club drop to League One, but gave it another go and enjoyed it. Thought Watts was a great guest - love the MoN days, especially as it came during my teenage years. Wish the defenders now had the same passion for the shirt! Felt it was more balanced as well, and the right negatives were called out. In fact, think you could have been harsher on Souttar for their goal, it was unacceptable what he did. PS. Managed to get the Who Are You before anyone, which was a nice surprise!
  13. Agree. A combination perhaps of how the club treats them and their families, the amazing facilities and the fact we do have a clear pathway for them if they do want to move to a bigger club, like Monga, or get them into our first team squad (which is improving but more to do).
  14. McCarron can sell him the dream as well - they might have worked together at Man City.
  15. Agree with most of this but arguably makes sense to divide their time in charge between Khun Vichai's leadership and Top's. The former I will remember very happily, they gave us the best days of our football supporting lives. But the period under Top have been unforgivable - just a handful of sensible decisions and things could be so different now.
  16. It's ridiculous that if we've signed a decent keeper in 22-23, none of this happens. So negligent it's unreal.
  17. Jadel Katongo is available, just been released - ball-playing CB and formerly Man City
  18. Agree, I think that was BS from the manager but for good reason to protect the player. Otherwise, it alienates Page more knowing he can't make the full squad, it would be poor man management.
  19. Interesting. Doesn't seem the wealthiest but looks like he'd head up the consortium/be the public face. Surprised he's gone public, although could well be an ulterior motive. The Indian link is a no-brainer, it was a massive lost opportunity when we won the PL to market us in SE Asia and spread our popularity further but the club weren't equipped and fumbled it, perhaps focusing too much on Thailand.
  20. Few clubs in the mix according to this: https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/leicester-city-faes-transfer-exit-11112490
  21. Maguire said that we've introduced these clauses so they should be on less but depends on when the contracts were signed.
  22. It makes too much sense and fits the brand well, given we're such an extreme club! And Leipzig/Leicester works from a brand view. But the Leeds shareholding is an issue, albeit they have less than 10% so not a major shareholder - selling their holding wouldn't be too much of an issue you'd think.
  23. It's from this article: https://www.footballinsider247.com/leicester-city/leicester-city-in-serious-danger-of-administration-player-wages-are-killing-them The article is clickbait, doesn't make sense given the club is turning down bids if there was a firesale (and they would have surely wanted to get as much money earlier in the window). They've looked to get a new angle on the story about the club's sale so gone sensationalist. I expect rumours like this are going round so other clubs try to low-ball us. But there's no doubt the owners have got serious business troubles and we need to get promoted this season.
