  1. On any given day a match between two unfancied teams can be more of a spectacle than two of the giants. Agree the system has made the league unhealthy
  2. Under your criteria rather than break the cartel only clubs with previous honours or famous ex players should be in the top division. Palace have never won anything but could possibly win the cup.
  3. We had won precious little up to 1997
  4. What if Huddersfield got back in? Won the title 3 years running in the 20s or is that too historical?
  5. Be interesting to see how a big club like Leeds do next season. I wouldn't say a Bournemouth or Brentford would be immune to relegation on merit. What would be a surprise is if an Everton or Spurs went down. I can remember when Spurs and Man U went down from the old first division. What the big clubs don't like is when a Wimbledon or Wigan bloody their noses and actually win honours
  6. This ignores the beauty of the league pyramid that just about survives. So called bigger clubs don't have the divine right to be in the top division and fans should embrace the clubs that break in.
  7. I agree that PSR helps the cartel. Can't agree with Bournemouth Brentford comment. There are football snobs out there that feel the same way about clubs like Leicester. People should broaden their horizons otherwise it increases the obsession with the usual suspects. Bit like that Spurs fan when we were going for the title. " Leicester are nobodies"
  8. Anybody is a risk of course no matter their CV. Dyche will as you say bring a disciplinary attitude. Results over style is the priority. Can work on a budget too.
  9. This match reminds me of the recent final against Selby. Higgins makes a mistake but has the luck not to leave anything
  10. Yep. Kasper our most capped player. Andy King got 50 odd for Wales. John O'Neill did hold the record for years with 39 caps after passing 37 for Gordon while at Leicester
  11. Spurs are crap yet quite possibly will end their 17 year trophy drought
  12. They got relegated and we won the old division 2
  13. Have to go back to 1980
  14. Non league player at Inverness when we got him. I suppose like a lot of English clubs we picked up quite a lot of talented Irish and Scottish players back then.
  15. Sorry of course Kevin.
  16. Remember John as a calm central defender. Paul was a whole hearted midfielder or full back. Recall a famous match where he scored twice I think in a 4-3 win over Leeds
  17. No, that was Scot Ian Macdonald.
  18. If RvN had of turned the season around with results and performances he would rightly expected the plaudits. Unfortunately the opposite happened with everything ending in dismal failure. It's not as though we were desperately unlucky in losing most of the matches by the odd goal etc. Of course the hierarchy is also guilty but there is little to suggest the current manager can galvanise the squad for next season.
  19. As my wife said obviously thinking of comfort. Refs on their feet more than the players
  20. All this reminds me of David Unsworth back in the day. He wanted to move from West Ham back to Everton because his wife was missing the area. Saw an interview with Kasey Keller who just scoffed. He had moved 6000 miles to play in England.
  21. Certainly shouldn't deflect that RvN has to go
  22. But why feel the need to post pictures. Does he think he is the only new father out there
