The thing should not be called The Champions League. Champions and Others League?

Jamie Vardy: A Legend's Final Home Appearance
Foxdiamond replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
Before any still living Leicester fan I would think. Top overall scorer for the club but the game was very different in the 20s and 30s -
Knee before hand so not that controversial
-
Always be grateful for that sloppy pass that Perez blocked in the cup final
-
Always the exception I suppose but seems odd that so many players refuse or can't learn to work on such a basic weakness and tie themselves in knots trying to get the ball on their strong foot. So many times you see players that should cross or shoot that waste a situation for their team. .

I don't think I would like to see an increase in political views expressed by lots of entertainment and sports stars that work at the BBC.
-
I suppose a difference might be that we are anonymous here. I regard Lineker as a Leicester and England great but I think his opinion is largely amplified because of his job at the BBC and this is a problem.
-
Cross and John Sjoberg mainstays of the Leicester side when I started following football

Grim news about the fire in Bicester
-
Adam Black DCM. Not to be sniffed at either
-
Certainly u23 caps
-
No wonder the club decides to not be open and upfront if this the reaction when it does
-
My daughter's other half is a smashing bloke but not a sports fan(could be worse and be married to a Spurs or Forest fan etc) When she was watching the final apparently she was shouting at the tv and very animated. He said to her " well that's a side of you not seen before" then understood what it meant.

I think you are digging yourself into a hole and feel the need to defend. As I said Vardy could have just feigned injury for the last match and we would all have just shrugged our shoulders. We go into the Bournemouth game knowing he won't be with us next season. Gives Daka a chance to prove he can provide something or not without an absolute need for the points

Jamie Vardy: A Legend's Final Home Appearance

Yes. I believe the duck meant his test average was just a tiny bit below 100. Amazing to think of an average of 99 4 or whatever. -
It really doesn't bother me. Simply an honest announcement. As for wages cut him a bit of slack after 500 games where he kept himself fit and never hid.
-
There is a part if our fanbase that appears to delight in looking for the worst and most cynical aspect. OK Vardy wants to finish with a home match. He could have said nothing and cried off the Bournemouth match and nobody would be any the wiser if he claimed injury or illness
-
Mexico brilliant but painful (Gerd Muller etc) 66 for me. Downhill since
-
I suppose we all want the perfect numbers at the end of his Leicester career but either way amazing achievements
-
As others have said. Much better to finish with a home match rather than away with vast majority of fans supporting rather than abuse.
-
Rogers did invite more pressure after we scored. Got away with it.

Yep agreed. 1963 for me so Leicester were a top division side in the middle of their longest run in the top division. Fulham is an interesting one for me. Prime London location but won nowt and overshadowed by Chelsea etc. I know they are known to have a few celebrity fans but their rank and file support deserves a bit of credit. Perhaps the lustre of Johnny Haynes and George Cohen is still a factor.

Love this thread. I was at home watching with my wife. Incredible nerves. Winning the league was fantastic but like a lot of Leicester fans the FA Cup was the monkey on our back. I remember the finals in 63 and 69 and every year getting knocked out. That goal was the most euphoric moment. Then the nerves got even worse. "Don't lose it now lads" Wife was genuinely worried about my heart rate at this stage. The sinking feeling as Chelsea appear to score. Look again offside! The final whistle tears, joy and relief. My daughter calls (she was 6 months pregnant) "Dad Dad we've won" Kasper collects the cup and the lid flies off. How I love Maroon. The goal was a thing of beauty to rank with the best cup final goals. Did anyone who did go see yourself on the tv later? Great scenes young and old.

Remember episode of Porridge. Fletcher taking about Pans People. "There's one beautiful babs-I don't know what her name is" Babs of course married to actor Robert Powell.
