Like you mentioned, you’re going to have to build a defense around him to mask his huge weaknesses in the PL. You shouldn’t sign a 30+ year old to a new contract taking all that into consideration. BTW, I think he’s been very good in the Championship and if (when) we get promoted, he might even have been worth his transfer fee and contract but he’s just not a PL player, and that’s okay.
