I think cooper doesn’t yet know the players well enough to understand their capabilities and errs on the conservative side which turns out to be the opposite. Everyone reacts differently under pressure and the mind could be cluttered. His assistants need to stand up too.

Very disappointing to lose in that manner in extra time but some real positives there. It shows we can cut it in the premier league most notably. But for some poor substitutions and dodgy refereeing antics again we could have done better.

That second goal looked like we had dropped our heads in defence. All the players just followed their runners when they cut it back to tossard. I thought we had done ok at times but there is a gulf between the two teams. Still never give up.

A key part in Saturday is going to be defending their aerial threat from set pieces and in particular corners. Gabriel to be fair is excellent in this respect and they are well trained in creating blocks on the keeper and those trying to prevent runners. if we can nullify that then I think we can compete especially if we can show more togetherness and spirit. Although to be fair I don’t think we have been too bad in this respect. I’d like to see Ricardo come in at RB and Justin up against saka on the right as he has done well in that in the past. In position Ricky to play his inverted role in midfield he does so well. I like skipp but I’d play Ndidi in midfield for added physicality and aerial prowess along with winks and goodnight as the Number 10. fatawu and mads on the wing and Vardy up top if fit. Utilise the relationships built up last season. . I think Faes will get the nod though to start alongside okoli at CB although there is a case for vesty given their aerial threat. I reckon that’s about right. Our biggest loss of the season still but I feel our team has more in them than Cooper is delivering.

This is really poor. The players have to share a bit of blame as it’s been lacklustre but we know they are better than this and cooper is just not working. The players look inhibited and no clear system or structure that is effective.

Goodnight is quality but we knew that already. Likewise fatawu and Riccardo. Well cooper doesn’t seem to know that. I’d have liked him to give vesty a run out too. That all being said the players are putting the effort in and hopefully cooper learns a bit or catches up at least.

That makes sense. More communication would be helpful. Can’t see that keeping that quiet would be beneficial.

The concerning thing for me is that I have actually been quite impressed with the effort and attitude shown by the majority of the players. But if we continue to underperform largely due in my view to odd team selections and tactics that confidence and willingness will drop. If and when that happens then all hope for the season will be gone. Surely he has studied videos of players in the last few seasons. What works and what hasn’t. Keeping some talented players on the sidelines reminds me of the worst aspects of Roger’s. The board need to thrash it out with Cooper tomorrow as to what is going on and what is he thinking. I don’t think we are that far off making it work but issues need to be addressed now. Come on Steve sort it out.

Honestly I’ve been trying so hard to give him the benefit of the doubt. I’m losing the will now.
