  1. Here here. I’ve been trying to like him and his ideas but I’m kidding myself.
  2. Faes doing a decent impression of Thomas Daley there.
  3. Agreed. Let’s get Abdul and Riccardo on the right and balance that out. Ayew doesn’t look up for this fight.
  4. Abdul’s pressing and defensive tracking would be useful here. Ayew has done as well as I’d hoped but he isn’t Abdul in this respect.
  5. Darren England. wtf.
  6. How many times has this happened when we try to shut up shop and just invite the opposition on to us. Brain dead tackle didn’t help but he shouldn’t have been on the pitch.
  7. Mavidid gives us so much more down the left. A good solid half away from home. Same again second half.
  8. I think the palace and Everton games are our best hope for wins. If we can do that it would be massive for our season. Maybe a draw at Bournemouth as they are no longer a banker three points. If we could beat them that would be brilliant. Arsenal - I think we can do better than people think. Keep the losing margin below three.
  9. Precisely and therein lies the problem.
  10. I’m not sure that would aid the cause. 😀
  11. Mcateer started well. Put in a great cross from the left and kicked Harry Kane.
  12. He does sound a lot like Nacho and from the limited amount of times I have seen him he does have some similar traits. He definitely knows how to tuck them away like Kel could. I don’t think either are lazy he is just has that calm demeanour and stance. In fact I would say it helps to be calm when you are trying to do the most difficult thing on the pitch that is score goals. I hope he does very well and has a good time here. I don’t think Vardy has been that bad so far. . It’s still early season and there is a bit of rust there in his touch and link up play. . He still give it everything and makes good runs. Oh and he is good in the air.
  13. That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking. The clubs transfer behaviour before the end of the accounting period suggest they were aware of how close these figures were before the end of the accounting period. However it just worries me that they had the wrong target figure.
  14. I’m not sure I would. Ederson Allison and Martinez are getting on a bit and vicario and raya are no better. We do need to have a succession plan in place though as the vultures will be circling in January I suspect.
  15. I think we all agree one has to be dropped. We need more creativity and to play people in their best positions.
  16. I agree with this. Especially the bit about Ayew. His strength and abilities to hold the ball versatility etc are useful and offer something different. I’m not sure I’d describe Fatawu as maverick. Yes he has the inconsistency that comes with his age but he is a rare talent. Once he settles into this division he will be the fire.
  17. Or skipp. Has to be one of the three defensive midfielders (Skipp Winks or Ndidi to clarify)
  18. Yep. To be fair they were very decent. Onana is a real handful as was mcginn. Tielemans. Well we know what he brings. Showed his class a few times. He looked trim and up for it.
  19. Agreed but we just don’t have time to spare unfortunately. He needs to get mavs back in on the LW and bring in some creativity to midfield. Either BN or BEK depending on how the latter settles this week. Ayew and skip worked hard and showed up yesterday but decisions have to be made to get the balance right. Riccardo not playing is baffling. I hope there is a good reason as to why. Interesting to see how he introduces edouard. I think cooper is just trying to stay tight and aggressive first half of games and then bring on more creative players later on. Previous managers have tried the reverse. I think he just needs to find the middle ground with a balanced selection and get the team to gel and work for each other. There are some promising signs on the teamwork side which bodes well. Can’t fault the team much for effort yesterday.
  20. I’m shocked. RIP big man.
  21. You know honestly I was quite impressed with that game. Tranmere weren’t that bad given their standing and they had one or two decent players. But yes he played with more confidence and presence then. Good he carried that on today.
  22. He has to get the right balance in the team. Likewise substitutions to correct in play and inbalance and effect tactical change as needed. Seems everyone was saying the same in the crowd today. Frustrating. on the plus side. Players gave it all today. Mavididi for example came on today with a point to prove and really went for it. Fair play. That spirit will be hard to keep up unless we get the balance right and start getting some wins.
  23. I haven’t been his biggest fan but he played with a lot of determination today and got forward quite well. He can be loose with some of his passing and can be turned too easily at times but he was better today. He doesn’t have blistering recovery pace but he showed again a willingness to fight and keep going which should earn him time to improve in these areas. I like his first time low crosses. Something others could try sometimes.
  24. I thought this was his best game for us today. He seems to be much more at ease with the pace of the game and more in tune with his team mates. Something that will continue to improve with time together. He looked assured and powerful.
