  1. Scoring in a winter Vardy land.
  2. You f…king beauty. Well played soumare.
  3. Thanks. It was a tough day and I was a bit embarrassed after I shared that. He played alongside Colin Appleton in Scarborough and got to play football in the army during national service. Training in the African sun on the beaches has left him with a lot of skin problems in later life. Difficult to keep on top of treatment during covid times and having late stage dementia whilst in a care home doesn’t help. Still a fighter though and keeps smiling.
  4. LFTs I think I read somewhere.
  5. Who knows what is going to happen in the coming weeks. This is a great opportunity. I hope we put our best team out. I haven’t been excited about this until today but must admit can’t concentrate on anything else now. COYB 🦊
  6. We don’t want to leave it too late again and be forced into making rash decisions or ones at inflated prices. Love evans but he isn’t getting any younger. Likewise fofana but he is so good and such potential that we will struggle to hold on to him. If Botman is as good as people have suggested I hope we try our best to get him in.
  7. Yes I quite agree that’s why I called it a sweep tackle. I loved that tackle when I played but every so often a ref will pull you up and even more so nowadays and difficult against speedsters. I haven’t seen enough of him. Have you seen what his all round game is like?. The trouble is we all want a combination of many things but that sort of player is rare and very expensive.
  8. Totally. It’s not a rebuild just fixing a glaring problem that is not going away. Looks like he has the right temperament and stature but bit concerned that those sweeping tackles may draw attention from English refs with the pace of our game but that could be addressed.
  9. Christmas is such an emotive time. Had to take my dad from his care home to Glenfield hospital for an urgent check on something yesterday. On the way back I took a quick detour round king power and welford road. He doesn’t recognise Leicester at all and still doesn’t believe we were in league 1 despite being a season ticket holder at the time. He can’t comprehend the recent events and responds with wide eyes and disbelief. His last game was in 15/16 and I had to practically had to carry him up the stairs to our seats much to the amusement of those sat nearby, My brother had made a tactical diversion to the bar. He can still fondly remember the 60s cup finals, the Bloomfield era and maybe odd game like the spurs semi final. My mum won’t let me play the bochelli stream though as his reaction is too painful to watch. Football is much more than just a game.
  10. Great team and very much integrated with local supporters. Steve kembers kid went to our school and my brother went out with geoff blockleys daughter. Maybe they weren’t such celebrities on mega salaries.
  11. Me too. He seemed to go in forever but then I was only a little kid. I can still remember the starting 11 from those formative days. Great goalkeeper.
  12. Collectively the club has to take responsibility for signings from the top and retrospective analysis is only useful to the extent that we learn from it and improve. I wouldnt compare Albrighton with Bertrand other than that they were both on a free transfer. Albrighton was younger with his best years ahead. I was pleased at the time and he has exceeded expectations in every way. As you say Bertrand on a free suited a purpose albeit short term.
  13. Hamilton should be on the list. Through no fault of his own he was denied an eight world championship bloody referees again.
  14. Come on Adama. Prove them wrong. This is tight.
  15. Dendoncker should have scored there.
  16. I too agree with the sentiment here but the legislation is specific and showing proof of vaccination is not the same as say a national identity card. They shouldn’t use the term covid passport. Take each game one by one.
  17. I wonder where the main covid vaccines fare by now in a league table of most scrutinised by medical and scientific experts (not Facebook or WhatsApp cranks). Pretty high I’d reckon. No treatment is entirely safe or without side effects as detailed in the disclaimers but most legitimate reports are that they are minimal in the groups that are targeted. Any claims of negligence are likely to be in their application not their authorisation I would imagine.
  18. Hi Bert sorry I forgot to tick the quote box. Yes I’m the same. My partner has MS with monthly transfusions and my parents both vulnerable. I am all for personal freedoms but there is a trade off with society and community protection. I think there is a lot of misunderstanding around this subject exacerbated in this world of misinformation. back to football I’m a bit worried that the arse seem to be getting their sh.t together.
  19. I would t mind that so much as long as the Liverpool match on the 28th goes ahead. Mrs Gray and myself are flying back for that one.
  20. A qn for you. Why did you get triple vaccinated if that’s not to personal. Might help answer your own qns?
  21. Yeah like who should tell me how many pints I can have before driving home.
  22. It will benefit them both directly through protection against severe illness and indirectly by protecting others. Loved ones and the rest of the community. It will help bring a swifter end to this pandemic and the mental physical and economic damage it continues to inflict. football analogy - manure. You can have all the stars you want but it doesn’t guarantee silverware. It’s a team game.
  23. I would think the majority of fans are not happy about the take up of vaccinations by players but they are not mandatory and we are respectful of peoples freedoms.
  24. Can you get a jab for pneumonia??
  25. Hopefully the vaccines will keep hospitalisations and deaths relatively low but they lag cases by on average two weeks. As the omicron cases have only just started to ramp up it is too early to make judgements just yet.
