Lookman it’s a no brainer if less than £15 million. He adds a lot of versatility to our attacking options Right wing I’d love to see raphina cutting in on his left and then Bissouma bossing the midfield. One can dream.

Personally I really hope that youri decides to stay. A few weeks back arsenal were all over Renato Sanchez amongst others. I have been impressed with arsenal this season but they still have a way to go to be considered real contenders for the title. Their track record with bringing in and developing rising stars has not been great so I still think we offer the equivalent for youri in terms of development and growth. Arsenal will eventually move on but I’d like to see us do everything we can to convince youri to sign. If he does go we dont need to buy an exact like for like. I’m a fan of yves Bissouma I think he is one of the most underrated CM with a proven PL track record. He may not score the goals that youri does but he is probably better defensively, more athletic, can drive the team forwards and has a bit of steel about him. Would be a great acquisition IMO.

Can’t wait for this but sadly I’ll be in ireland so can’t make it. I know a pub that’s showing it though so the guiness will be flowing. COYB.

You know is great having another team to support with absolutely no need for any guilty feelings. 😀

Agreed. Need to keep progressing but right direction definitely.

Well done ladies. Great result. It feels like that was significant.

This saga has been a shame for all sides. Time to move on and wish benkovic all the best in his future career.

With more time for players to recuperate and return from injury plus time to work at the training ground I am hopeful that we can have a better second half of the season. This stop start farce can’t be influenced by us but I personally have missed the games badly and can’t wait for the games to come thick and fast. COYB

I was going to mention this but thought I’d get slaughtered on here. I thought he looked like a promising talent a few years back but hasn’t kicked on for various reasons. Might be worth a punt if we could get him cheap enough or ideally on loan.

Tiny Dic? I thought we weren’t allowed to talk about Dennis Wise any more.

All these plus Brunt and Co gagging for it no doubt . Doubt it will be called off from our side -
Strange one. I thought he looked decent in that Wigan game and after the praise he received at Celtic. If it was for personal reasons I don’t know why we didn’t follow this course of action sooner. Likewise if he wanted to be close to home then I don’t see how the Celtic loan would have helped things. We are all speculating but it is odd and disappointing for all sides. The players side of the story are normally revealed in a few months time in a tabloid somewhere. Brace yourselves though as they are usually not complimentary to the club in some way.

Historically there is no precedent to what we did that year but they were warriors. Forest in the dark ages magnificent as it was is not quite the same. Championship winning teams have largely struggled in the premiership. Most of that team were unknowns or journey men. Huth had history and we had some winning experience at lower levels but as the program explained we were all but down the previous season until March when we went on the winning streak that became the great escape. We suddenly found a formula that worked in the premiership. Even then we brought in some new faces and a new manager for the title winning season. What the team did then, the way they all maintained top form, worked together in the counter attack system they did and stayed relatively injury free is the stuff of legend. Where is that feature film!

Yes I think you are right. You only have to see how one week Maddison is a passenger or Brendan out of ideas and the next week they are the new messi and the greatest tactician ever. Over time you’d expect the levels to be about right as they average out. I sound like I’m defending VAR or referees now!! 😀

I was just looking at Kaspers average match ratings for this year (as you do on a coffee break) and I was shocked to see him down as an average 5.9. For me 2021 goes down as one of his best seasons. Maybe I’m watching a different game but does anyone know how many points he has saved us this season compared to other keepers?. That documentary stirred my emotions I know but he is deservedly an absolute legend of the club and a top bloke too. I hope when they are choosing a statue to mark the opening of the redevelopment of the ground he will be included in some way. Actually that would make a great new thread. What/who would you like to see?

Five years ago.

He is from Groby!!. Flipping heck. Certain England starter by the time he is grown up. Go on lad. Made of granite.
-
He’s a different player to Perez. He is more a light footed dribbler who can ghost past players. Not in the form he was two years ago but if we could turn that round then that is where the value is. Could be useful but having seen that celebration I dunno.
-
Spence had a great game. His dribbling out was very riccardoesque. Outran tierney and martinelli. Defensively sound and progressive going forward. Will only improve and increase in value. That’s if Boro are willing to sell of course. Johnson makes sense too in that it’s CB where the urgent need is.

That was exactly what I thought. His positional awareness and footballing brain is excellent. Especially for his age. You can’t really teach some of that -just improve on it. The way he held his position first half and had the discipline not to go diving after tackles or chasing the ball was very good. I winced when Brendan swapped him to left back but if anything those skills can even more to the fore in that role. He came inside to cover the centre backs when the unit moved across and he looked strong on the ball and in the air. Lovely trick and run too. We have unearthed another talent here for sure.

As a primary school kid at the time when forest won the first division I remember with horror when certain kids started parading round the school playground singing forest songs. This was in Groby mind. I remember a few black eyes resulting and broken friendships. I’ll always think of them as rivals.

Let’s not get on to Boris Johnson again.
