I like the thought behind this and it is well balanced. Souttar deserves another go as does Ciady. Vesty is in the best form since he has been with us and he doesn’t run around at break neck speed but if he needs a rest like Riccardo and Faes then this is the one to do it ideally we would rest Justin too but he seems up to speed now and we don’t have too many choices on that side. I wouldn’t mind cannon starting this one and see how he gets on. We should have enough firepower either way.

I agree on all points but we have been more laboured in other games and we didn’t give away many chances today. Mavidid looked brighter though I’d like to see him really take the defence on for pace and try and get a cross in. Same on the right too. Wasn’t a great game but we did create and were tight in defence albeit against inferior opponents than the last two games. We did miss winks in midfield though.

Yes you could see the whole tempo of the team turn up a notch. Lesser player would have let their heads drop after those misses but if anything he just tried harder to get in those positions. I think if we were a few goals ahead it might have been cannon who replaced Kel but when we need him he can still make the difference.

Strong team and bench. I thought we would miss winks big time but looking at that team on paper I feel confident. You could also swap at least two or three starters for those on the bench and still feel the team wasn’t significantly weakened. I’d like to see cannon get some time at some point in the second half if possible. Come on Leicester 2-0 home win. 💙🦊

Yes he seems very mature, grounded and importantly still hungry for success. That will definitely help him get back to where he should and can be. As a Groby lad myself I’m especially keen to see him succeed and fulfil his massive potential.

I like this. Hamza will be up for it. One yellow card though and I’d bring fatawu on and drop younus more central. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Mavidi benched and fatawu or mcateer start. Looked apathetic last two games. I’d like to see cannon get some time second half and . Alves for a cameo role too. Oh and I’d start Faes instead of coady based on form.

My thoughts exactly. Winks has become an integral part of the team. I think we will get a win and hopefully the break will have allowed us to refresh and refocus the players. I’d be very happy with a 2-0 win.

Very true. That’s the problem with our recent results. Too many players have dropped their form and effort. We do miss Wilf but let’s be honest we really miss Maddison. His ability to transistion between midfield and attack and his creativity around the box, plus goals, would have made a massive difference to this team. Still we have to move on.

Agreed. I wish we had managed to get Tommy Doyle in the summer on loan. He could have been a great back up to winks but also cover that more advanced I believe. Maresca must have had talks with his man city contacts. I still hope Cesare can come good though.

I agree but ultimately it is up to the lad whether he carries on putting performances like Saturday and becomes the next Soumare or he knuckles down and becomes the player we believe he can be. He has shown that he has it in him.

A theme of our season so far has been scoring late goals through improving our intensity and the directness of our play. Yesterday we did show periods of this during both halves. The learning points for me are that we need to be able to keep up the dominance and intensity for longer periods of the game and secondly to be more clinical when those chances arrive. Breaking it down it’s a simple game and we need to be better in those decisive moments and also create more of them. We are going through a dip in form in these respects partly due to injuries but maybe also through fatigue and/or complacency. Certainly in some players more than others and maybe we aren’t using the squad as effectively or have the ability to do this through those injuries. The last ten minutes in particular we didn’t show the urgency of a team desperate for success.

I don’t think it was just nacho today. Our wingers were ooor. At least fatawu had a go at beating his man when he came on and showed a bit of direct wing play. We hardly got any balls across the back line all game. Midfield was not so bad. I thought we missed Ndidi more against Leeds to be honest. Winks and Ricky were decent and kdh was good in midfield but wasteful in attack particularly with his shots. Defensively again we were a bit meh but our attacking play let us down today and we seem to have lost our way a bit in this respect over the last few games.

Our wingers have been poor today. I’d have them practising the art of crossing first thing Monday. Followed by how to beat a man. get the ball in the box.

I hope so. I don’t get why fantasy is not playing today. Him and winks were our best players against Leeds. I do like mcateer but fatawu would do well against this team.

What was kasey thinking there. I’d like to see Fatawu on at half time and a bit of a rocket up them. We should do better here.
