It was easy for Southgate to leave him out. Just imagine if he had come on for the last 20 mins and played outstanding. People would be clammering for him to play from the start which would have given him a real headache with Southgate's favourites to appease. Easier to leave him out totally.

All the stats say he is better than Foden and Co but he won't get a game. At least he'll come back injury free.

There seems to be a lack of leadership and communication. With the first goal last night the defence should have pushed up but Kane was left to nod in from very close in. Ndidi was at fault but where was the shout that he was bring pressed. Ward has no where near the presence that Schmeichel had which makes the backline more nervous. Lots of things going wrong and players confidence is rock bottom.

I said last season that he would be given 10 games. He has 3 games to turn this around. The display tonight showed me that the players haven't thrown in the towel it's just bad mistakes costing us. Schmeichel has been a massive loss. Ward just not upto it. Lack of communication, rubbish distribution, basic errors. This all perpets itself through the whole team and they be come anxious on the ball and mistakes happen. The keeper can see the whole pitch and should be constantly communicating with team mates.

We've gambled on paying high salaries for players. Tried to move them on but they won't go due to salaries they are on. We've been hit by FFP and past losses which mean club have to tighten their belts. Not really much we can do but ride it out. Can't see how changing the manager will help.
