Personally I'll be totally amazed if we survive, I'm expecting this season will be like watching a once world class athlete being humiliated in the qualifying rounds by people he would once have nailed to the floor... Factually there is always a chance l guess, but based on unbiased common sense we are 99.99% already gone. I am expecting swift and decisive action by the board though... Maybe with as many as 6 games left before they sack Cooper!

For me the surprising thing is not that a thoughtful and ambitious young player rejected a move here, but rather that any player with even a modicum of talent would want to jump onto a clearly sinking ship! A club in our position both in terms of financial leadership and team leadership needs to sell itself to any player worth having, we achieved this in the past, but now sadly we look like what we are, a badly run basket case heading down. Like most people I've been a staunch supporter of our owner, but his crazy refusal to replace Rudkin and the rest of the useless dead weights really makes me think now that the only way we will ever get back to being the club we were ten years ago is for new owners to come in. This prospect also fills me with trepidation.

For a club like us with the clear talent deficit we have (with little sign of that changing anytime soon), we would need a tactical genius as a manager to get us to the dizzy heights of 17th. However good or bad Cooper is, he is no tactical genius. We are up creek de merde sans le paddle. Imao he will do well to get us to 19th. Personally I've given up hope of anything good with our club and its useless board atm. 😒

Is it conceivable that the owners have accepted we are already down and are saving their money? The way they mismanage our club, I'd put nothing past them. 😕

Well, let's see, they "deserve" it but, well, their owner is mega rich, a member of a royal/ruling family and well connected (to oil and banking). The laws and rules we all try to follow don't apply to such people and they never get what they deserve in my experience.. I wont be holding my breath.

Not so much fixated as limited I'd suggest, l really don't think he has any other ideas and his constant proclamation of "my way" is just a cover for his obvious limitations. But but but, this is a win win win for Enzo, sack him (heavy odds on) and he walks away with another fortune, journos will say typical Chelsea and sympathise, and if pep, Arne, Mikel and a half dozen other managers develop sudden chronic brain freeze and he wins the title (heavy odds off) he is a genius! For a man who is a billionaire, Choosing Maresca is rather like buying a truck load of Bitcoin when its at its ATH!

FA criteria for selecting the next England boss. 1.Make a list if all the managers who have won something. 2. List all managers who have exceeded expectations /over achieved. 3. List all managers who have a mind of their own. 4. Select for interview only people who are not on lists 1,2 or 3. Preferably an unsuccessful former player.

I strongly believe its the latter, the press build these players up and knock others down. Morata a case in point, considered not good enough for the prem whereas Kane is only just short of a combination of Greaves, Lineker and Shearer at their best! The reality at international level has proven entirely the opposite in Germany. They have built these expectations for years. Unfortunately the FA are so timid in their managerial appointments preferring a man who talks a good game and wont rock the boat to a proven winner who could pick and play a TEAM not a group of players loved by journos. Honestly l dont think l will see the City win the prem again, l doubt I'll see us win the FA cup again, but l absolutely know l wont see England win a major trophy.
