To be fair, there has been less of it this season as there has been more focus on sticking with the on field decision. This has actually led to the problem in reverse where a number of times i've felt a decision should have been overruled but hasn't as they have kept with the refs call. At the time these were painful but in reality i would sooner that happened. And we actually got that amazing moment when Vardy's goal vs West Ham was given. Lino put the flag up immediately so no one celebrated at the time. I support VAR but actually only want it used for 'absolute' decisions quickly. I'm less interested in challenges being slowed down and reviewed from every angle and really just want the automated offsides and goal line tech. I never want to see the theatre of the 'lines being drawn' ever again. I would happily support retrospective punishments for onfield decisions missed (how about a 1 game ban for Ugarte - he wouldn't be doing that again if that happened).

Play the youngsters, they can't be much worse. And if they are, i can slate them even more because they are kids from the Academy!

I thought Thomas was ok against Man u actually. Viktor is more physical, but i don't think there is a massive gulf between them both.

The first thing people say when the youngsters don't perform is 'i don't know what manager xxx is seeing in player yyy'. Even Jakub was getting pelters after his first few PL games (wrongly IMHO). Nyoni today didnt look any good against a bottom of the championship team, so there is nothing to suggest if he stayed with us he would be ripping it up in the PL. Alves had a nice cameo yesterday but again nothing to suggest he is ready for start after start in the PL. They are developing and may never hit the big time.

I said blindsided - not obstructed. Magure was deeper so i presume he was focussed on the other players ahead of him. Personally don't think it was corruption - jus incompetence.

Loan best thing for him. Let’s hope he gets lots of minutes.

BTG youtube vids hinting that there are issues behind the scenes with Stephi. Shame as he is the only one with any pace up top and i felt earlier in the season he changed some games (including Brighton under Ruud).

I thought towards the end he ran into no mans land a few times and lost the ball. Like anyone new, he will need a bit of time, but i thought he looked ok and i think it silly to start calling him crap.

Not a great advert for playing academy players. Its not about now, its about where they are when they hit their prime. Nyoni may go on and be phenomenal, it still might not be in a Liverpool shirt.

They played the offside trap perfectly. re Wilf, his legs had gone. I noticed a few mins before he couldn’t track back. 90 mins was always tough for him when fully fit. I wouldnt expect 90 mins from him anytime soon.

Why cant certain players not take responsibility for themselves all of a sudden? Both have pretty obvious flaws, and it's up to them raise their level. Winks was pretty poor under Cooper and has struggled all season. Facundo started well but we were warned by Brighton fans what his flaws were. Neither are Ruuds fault. Both need to work hard and sort themselves out.

So Mads is no longer a 'competent keeper'? Heard it all now. He isn't fully match fit for sure, and i think he made the wrong call but i felt the flight of the ball was a bit unusual and he's made a call that in the end shouldn't have even mattered. 100% on the officials that, not Mads.

Results are bad, but i think there are improvements. When you are struggling, it can be 1 step forward 2 steps back. I'm really buoyant with Ndidi returning and we looked so much better with him. I still feel with this setup and Ruud its achievable to stay it. Its a stretch for sure, and i don't think changing the manager is the right thing to do.

The 'issue' is that the rules state you are only in an offside position is you interfere with play, so only Maguire was offside at the point he heads the ball. The only excuse I can make for the lino is that he was blindsided by the 3 other players in offside positions who weren't technically offside and he missed Maguire who was deeper. Still shocking officiating whatever excuse you make. Understand why the rule was brought in, but for set pieces like this i think 'interfering with play' becomes subjective. All 4 players are trying to pull the defense deeper but we stick to our high line. By doing this, the 4 players are effectively interfering with play. Furthermore if the 3 other players have distracted the lino and he's missed Maguire, then again they are interfering with the decision making and thus interfering with play. I'd like to see the rule scrapped, or maybe reintroduced for set pieces as i hate seeing the attacking team all standing in offside positions.

Last nights problem wasn’t because there was no VAR. it’s because the lino was incompetent. Lino should have been dealt with after making earlier howlers.

Ndidi makes a HUGE difference. He and Boubs are first choice from here on. Im not really going to criticise much as on the whole I felt there was a plan and taking into consideration our limitations we did ok. I think there is positivity to take onwards for sure. Disgusting officiating at the end - complete incompetence. We defended that properly and im not going to blame our defence for that. Maybe Mads comes out, but the offside trap worked. BEK is a class above everyone. Ayew is, well just Ayew. Disappointed in Winks as i felt he had space to work with. We are missing some pace and zip, but i think we are playing within ourselves to stop being so exposed on the counter. If we keep Ndidi fit and he carries on like that, i think we will actually see some significant improvement.

Yeah! You're right. I will elaborate. I don't use one. My son takes his and gives it to a mate at school who cant go to games. My wife has issues with her hands to she actually uses it. I don't have the hate for them others do. But i also wouldn't lose any sleep if they weren't there.
