So, this decision benefitted us, and I think the foul on Raya was clear and obvious. But Trossard is fouling WH number 25, just as obviously, and this is the first offence. Ref should either ignore all of it, or worst case call it back for a WH penalty. -
we definitely rode our Luck v Porto, I can’t deny that 😂

We aren’t beating Villa over 2 legs unfortunately - especially when we’ll have played at Chelsea on the Monday. We’d have had a chance in a one-off game

My honest views: - 30 players in the 2022 transfer windows - totally necessary as we were promoted with a tiny squad with little PL quality. I do think we’ve overspent and cluttered up the squad this summer however. - PSR, Lyon etc - don’t like it but I don’t think Forest are exceptional here. You had your loophole win with Nick de Marco, Chelsea had their hotels, Man City appear to sail close to the wind etc etc. Forest, Leicester and similar clubs probably have to do what’s necessary to compete. - Clattenberg - made us look stupid and paranoid. As did the Luton tweet. I’m with Cloughie - we should let refs do their job - email to CAS - not convinced CAS are frightened of an East Midlands football team so I can’t see how a letter made any difference. Suspect another club would have done similar but who knows. - Other: - hated the Marinakis/Nuno confrontation after our match v you. - Banning Gary Neville - very funny! -

Agree, EM has loads of credit in the bank, deservedly so. Whilst he has sometimes done controversial things, he usually got the big calls right - until he sacked Nuno IMO. Most fans would be very happy with mid table and 50ish points - we know last year was exceptional. Nuno would have comfortably got that 50 in my view, and even if he’s drifted a few points below that the fans would have stuck with him. But we’ve swapped him for someone who’s now lost 30 of 49 PL games, and that’s the issue for most people - not just the 7 games with Forest. Most fans have just seen it as a massive downgrade since his name was first mentioned. Agree on the stability point, and most fans see this as a load of disruption for no gain. we’ll see what happens. Going against my previous post, it’s feeling like EM will stick with him for now. -

Yes, some truth in that albeit removing him after strengthening the squad and a OKish start to the season was premature at best. Most of all, there’s simply no excuse for recruiting Ange. He was never going to be anything other than a massive downgrade on Nuno. -

Would genuinely go for Sean Dyche. Only priority is to stay up. That won’t happen with Ange, and a coach from abroad is too risky with what’s at stake. -

We’re already a laughing stock for appointing him, but I agree 3 managers is farcical. Has to be done now though. The Sky presenters have been saying we’re fickle but we’ve been absolutely consistent. We didn’t want Nuno to go. When Ange was mentioned we said ‘don’t you dare’. When he was appointed we said ‘you shouldn’t have done that’. And now we’re saying ‘get him out’. -
Dunno about this. I’d say 90pc were against sacking Nuno and 99.5pc against appointing Ange. Albeit you’re right people said ‘let’s get behind him’ once he was appointed. But you’re right. It’s Marinakis’ fault and it’s a catastrophic, incomprehensible misjudgment by him. Fans were singing Nuno’s name and gesticulating at EM at the ground on Thursday, asking him WTF he’s done.

On balance yes, I think Ange will be sacked before our next game. The atmosphere on 18th October will be toxic if he doesn’t. It’s not tenable. But Marinakis has a big problem, as the ludicrous decisions to oust Nuno and - even worse - appoint Ange have really put his judgement into doubt. I accept you’ll say he’s done lots of strange things before, but he’s generally got the big calls right, with most managers being a steady improvement on the previous one. The Ange appointment was seemingly made with no due process or serious assessment of his capabilities. It’s a catastrophic misjudgment, and 99pc of us said this from the start. I think saving our PL status is where we already are. -

It’s just been pointed out to me that if we’d put one of you lot, or a Derby fan, in charge of Forest for 2 weeks from late August and said ‘do your worst’, you’d have likely sacked Nuno and appointed Ange instead. Absolute implosion which we all saw coming as soon as Ange was mooted. Like I said 3-4 weeks again, it’s absolutely plausible we get relegated. -

he looked solid albeit we didn’t do much to bother him! Over half of the division could go down this year and if we’ve got performances like that in us, we’re one of them. -
That looks like it’s exactly the plan, with the contract extension only one year. Forest have been talking to City about McAtee and Lewis obviously, and a lot of us think MGW to City next summer might be part of the conversation.

Don’t know much about this lad although he seems highly rated. Is he as good as Gibbs-White? -
Victor Kristiansen (an option for Forest, Percy.)

Reading the above he sounds awful. Would be surprised if there’s anything in this but who knows -
City have suddenly started buying players again and given Haaland a massive contract. Meanwhile no PSR charges to any club this week. It does seem that City are very confident. I’m sure they’ve got nothing to worry about. They’ll get some mild criticism over their procedures and lack of cooperation, a strongly worded letter and a small fine. I wouldn’t be surprised if the fine is smaller than Forest got for the tweet.
-
I wouldn’t worry, we’re obviously not winning it. At the start of the season we’d all have seen about 14th as very good progress. Now we’ve had a good start, it would be great to be top half. Any more than that would be a massive and unexpected bonus. Our fans were probably 50-60pc positive / 40pc negative when you won the league. The local aspect was outweighed by the fact that you were disrupters and we still hate Tottenham after they cheated us in 1991.
-
After quarter of a century being useless I’d rather we win ugly than lose pretty. But I don’t find our football - defence to scoring a goal in 12 seconds - ugly. I’m obviously biased, but I find it exciting to watch. I suppose the PL as a whole is more exciting if there’s a variety of styles.
-
yes, and a club our size only needs to mess up a couple of transfer windows and everything falls apart At the moment I think the club knows where we are in the food chain and the recruitment strategy seems to be mainly: - young Latin Americans who will use us as a stepping stone to a bigger club - players with some experience who aren’t getting minutes at a big club (Elanga, CHO, Wood) Maybe this will evolve. The fans would be happy with being an established mid table PL club like in the 80s. Marinakis wants us in Europe every year in my opinion, and that will drive what the club does.
-
Yes, even if we do well, selling well will continue to be important - to balance out wage rises and transfer fees. Murillo will go in the summer I’d have thought, as we have Morata and Carmel (currently at Oly) as good replacements. Sangare hasn’t worked out too well, so he could leave too. But we’ll need to buy a back-up/replacement for Wood and replace any other leavers. Whilst we get mocked for supposedly being scattergun with transfers, I think the club’s network here is phenomenal. With some high profile exceptions (particularly in our first year back) I think they’ve been exceptional at finding players who can be sold on for a profit. The big worry is if we lose MGW - he’s so important to us he’s almost irreplaceable.
-
It’s a simple thing, but one thing Nuno has changed is we don’t piss about at the back anymore. That was a problem under Cooper and through most of last season, and it cost us goals. Sels and the central defenders usually launch it. Like someone was saying here yesterday, better to risk losing it in the opponents half than your own penalty area.

If nothing else it’s an opportunity for TAA to experience a different lifestyle and culture. Liverpool fans need to stop being such babies about it. Merseyside isn’t the only place on earth, and Real are the biggest club in the world.
