If we get Carvalho and Fofana we can hope. But we also need a spine. So he needs to decide who his soldiers are and fire them up. If its Hermansen, Justin, Ricardo, Coady, Faes, Ndidi, Vardy Mavi, Fatawu then they need to play 90% of games and properly lay down their lives for the cause. Personally there is more fight in Mavi and Fatawu than 90% of the squad so I'd use that if I were Cooper and put them where they can do the most box to box work they can. They are both good defensively from the front and so if he tucks them in to protect us being done down the middle too often then so be it.

We are desperado. If he's a number 10 with some go forward then I think get him in... Hatate looked like a world bester yesterday I noticed.....

If he were magically swapped for Hatate or this lad from France that has been mentioned then no. But if it's the choice of him or nothing then he can sit on the bench.

GK: Hermansen, Stola (inj), Iversen, Ward FB: Kristansen, Justin, Ricardo, Thomas, Cover CB: Coady, Faes, Vestergaard, Okoli, Souttar, Nelson CDM: Ndidi, Winks, Choudhury, Soumare, Braybrooke ACM; Golding, Alves Wingers: Decordova-Reid, Fatawu, Mavididi Strikers: Vardy, Cannon, Daka Currently we are 1 quality player short in every position. It's because we are stringing out the punishment process with legal challenge to points deduction and it's hamstringing (let's call it Seagraving) our potential to sign players. I'd like Ward, Souttar, Thomas, Choudhury, Daka - OUT I'd like Sara, Nelson, a full back and striker - IN

i mean, if we can avoid signing someone who has been sacked for cajoling lads into tossing off in toilets then, all things considered, i'd say we should.

we should know by now what points deduction will be. the delay in meting out the punishment is another punishment in itself as it restricts our ability to plan and trade.

If anyone wants to resell tickets i'm after 2, having just got tickets to the game...

I think we are now short: Striker - where we are reportedly looking at Adebayo (sic) and Weghorst so we are clearly going for Plan B strikers to add to what we have. Left Back - where no one has been mentioned so he must be giving Kristiansen a chance. Attacking midfield - where Soule, Reiss Nelson, O'Riley and Saelemaekers have been mentioned and it remains to be seen if Alves or McAteer will feature or go on loan. I'd be over the moon with the other Luton player Carlton Morris, Reiss Nelson and one of O'Riley or Saelemaekers. Plus us keeping hold of Alves and McAteer if we can't get exactly who we want (they don't add to the numbers). I'd expect us also to go for a dependable CDM if any of Soumare, Choudhury or Braybrooke leave or go on loan after Ndidi and Winks we are threadbare. I wouldn't be annoyed if we started the season. Hermansen Faes Coady Ricardo Ndidi Winks Kristiansen Fatawu Alves Mavididi Vardy or in a 3 Hermansen Coady Vestegaard Faes Ricardo Winks Fatawu Ndidi Alves Mavididi Vardy

he might have expressed an interest in playing somewhere else? maybe, maybe not.

Good move for me. Good technical and pacey player with something to prove. Would mean Mavi can play more inside left which they are clearly looking at and Fatawu could play on right or left as required. If we can get the right people in i'm sure Cooper will want Alves to get a 6mth loan to build up his experience before deploying him in premier league. Hard to say on mcateer as we are so short on quality

With what I saw tonight I'd go with the following first up if no new signings. Can switch between three or four at the back with fatawu reverting to left wing with ease Hermansen Nelson Coady Faes Ricardo Winks Ndidi Fatawu Alves Mavididi Vardy We've totally jettisoned Enzo ball it seems. Golding, McAteer, Vestegaard, Justin, Cannon can add something. Soumare, Okoli, Souttar, Choudhury Cover, Daka, Thomas looked terrible. Think Cooper might have dropped a bollock on Okoli

Okoli a total bombscare. Can pass but seemingly can't get rid quick enough. Souttar played like a pub player. Soumare hasn't changed some nice touches but conservatively gave the ball away about 9 or 10 times. Positives were McAteer playing inside right. Golding looks like he's got all week on the ball and uses it well. Coady and Nelson looked good. Fatawu and Mavididi combined well a few times and can definitely flex positions more this year. Cannon looked lively Alves was a big plus and can really take that inside left position and go for it if Cooper trusts him

Looks total quality and if we had the luxury you'd send him to Luton or West Brom. Like KDH or Barnes, to learn how to impact a game and then come back to the first team.

With two Wout's in the team we will win the square Wout of **** all.

it's all over twitter

I can definitely see Faes, Thomas and maybe Choudhury going in the window. Despite clearing a large amount off the wage bill (Iheanacho, Praet. Albrighton must be £12m per year off the total alone) and selling KDH i think if we are to sign any of Soule, Skipp, Sargent, Saelemakers then we will need to have cleared a few more assets that can actually realise value. Interesting that we've seen so many pictures of Alves and Braybrooke around the squad. either its advertising them for loans or they are going to be closer to the first team squad (as they are free to register) this year.

Lazy Susan

Daka will get nothing of the sort. Did you see him play last year? Great service, routinely butchered.

Do we have fatawu?

Dig out Your Soule

Carlton Morris looked good to me last year but no one has mentioned him too much as a target for promoted sides.

Seems about 12. He's not playing a big part this year.
