  1. There should be a competition for best/worst guests on buses at parades. If Norwich go up....Delia, Fry and Balls. That would be magical. Maybe get Rowan Atkinson on as he might be Steven Fry's mate.
  2. Ipswich forum...someone is moaning about some dude called Fabio Wardley being on the bus. The audacity of it!
  3. I wonder if any Ipswich fans are moaning about something to do with their parade. I'll go and see.
  4. If I was a footballer and was interested in playing for LCFC I'd probably wait until the FFP sanction is announced before deciding to commit either way.
  5. The more the merrier! Anybody who wants to party in our city are welcome! We're hardly a top (no pun intended) destination.
  6. I'll be gutted when his time with us ends. It has been a privilege to see him play for us and it won't be the same. However, it's a team game so that's why I'm not sure that any one player is bigger than any club anywhere in the world. Although I can definitely see the point of those that think a player can be bigger than the club. Maradona and Messi spring to mind. I guess JV is our equivalent. I think 99.9% of city fans are more than grateful that JV dedicated his career to us and massively helped us to reach heights we never thought possible.
  7. Is any player bigger and better than the club itself? He's been one of the best things arguably the best thing to happen to the club in recent years. Not sure it's healthy to consider any player as being bigger and better than the club imo.
  8. I think, in a good team, everyone involved tends to talk about we/the club rather than 'I'.
  9. How can a promoted team/squad be inherently fragile? Hyperbole. You win some and you lose some. What word would describe Rotherham?
  10. For me, the manager of the season is the one who wins the title. We'll have to wait and see.
  11. I think the term bottle is daft anyway and over used. Some who use the term frequently seem to forget that opposition teams contain professional footballers. On the Leeds forum lots of posts about bottling it. Maybe QPR just played better and took their chances. The opposition are allowed to.
  12. The Championship is not all bad but being in PL gives a shot at European competition. Those lucky enough to get to Eindhoven/Madrid/Bruges/Seville etc etc will have memories to treasure. It's not a guarantee but it's possible and something to aspire to if we can stay up in 24/25, consolidate and build. West Ham are not one of the big hitters in the PL but have had a lot of Euro trips. On the downside VAR isn't great but its implementation might start to improve.
  13. Faes put a nice ball in for first goal.
  14. Enzo has to say 'it's just another game' to the media. It's his way of trying to ease the pressure. He doesn't really mean it.
  15. Don't nearly all teams struggle against those that sit back? It should be a struggle as the teams sitting back are pretty much solely out to stop their opponent. That's why it's done.
  16. The championship isn't like the PL in my view because all teams (maybe not Ritherham) can win on their day. The league is much of a muchness. 'Worst teams"....See Bham and Blackburn yesterday for example. It's a tough league, especially in April when there's a lot at stake for a lot of teams. Pressure throws up strange results. In SOME ways it's a better competition than the PL imo.

A similar reel....maybe but I doubt it. Not going to check BTW though!
  18. Imo don't think he's got 15 or so PL players at his disposal. Not proven PL players imo. Maybe the youngsters have potential.
  19. I think some are being a bit harsh. At the moment the players are going to be a bit nervous due to the last few games, the chasing pack and the prize of promotion. They're human. Imo that makes playing really well and being relaxed difficult. The championship is tough. Lots of teams have got play off/survival targets. We didn't play great in the second half but I think Sunderland deserve some credit as they worked hard in that half. We are a relatively inexperienced team with a fair few youngsters. I caught the end of the Ipswich game and the commentator said that Ipswich hadn't played great but they got the job done obviously.

Maybe he needs a bit of help. Kevin Phillips did a good job when he was here coaching strikers. He needs, imo, to develop that iciness the best strikers have. Cool, calm finishers. He gets in some good positions and can do it. In training he could go in goal for a bit and try being a goalkeeper. It might help him realise that the goal is pretty wide from a goalkeeper's viewpoint. He seems a confidence type player. As some on here have said it might be a sports psychologist we could do with. Maybe they already have one.
  21. Fair enough. Good point. I guess it's what makes football interesting and annoying in equal measure.
  22. All of these teams you mention are professional football clubs with professional players. All professional football teams have quality to varying degrees and can hurt their opponents. Professional sport is not a walk in the park. The players that compete in the Championship are no mugs. Every team will suffer at different points in games or over a season and that includes the elite.
  23. Maybe clutching at straws... Leeds (for most of the game) looked ordinary. We were much better imo and, until last 10 mins, arguably looked like a side in first place. Their fans knew it too. They were subdued until the closing stages. Leeds made lots of mistakes. Their keeper looked worried and so did their defence. Maybe they start to question themselves and doubt creeps in for Leeds. They could go on a dodgy run.
  24. Championship players don't usually get picked for England. Steve Bull did I think when he was in Div 2. Argument against picking a championship player is they are not competing against the best week in week out.
