I do think we'll struggle at theirs. I don't think we really saw what they're capable of (except in short spells) and they seemed content to let us come at them. I could actually see us losing last night had they persued it a bit more. I can only hope them being perhaps not so defensively minded that we'll have a little more space. Or perhaps miraculously Vardy will be available... (file that under forlorn)

Do you think he's learning as a player? He's dynamite on his day, in full flow, but I don't see his game changing in response to when things are not working out for him. His decision making doesn't seem to be improving; not passing when it's the better option, running into a sea of defenders, shooting when blocked/it's not on. Don't get me wrong, he's both talented and a handful for defenses but he doesn't seem to know what else to do when he's contained.

I think there ought to have been some kind of warning on that. Or are all of those fan video things equally as cringeful.

Palace are one of those teams that I always think of as a bogey side, which is kinda ridiculous I know. Sure, they've tonked us on a couple of recent-ish occasions but that was just a phase, no?

I'm curious (not about the 'testing the keeper' debate, that's just amusing) which were our officially logged 2 shots on target? I'm struggling to remember a save their keeper made. Collecting crosses and corners, yes, but a save....

But what we really want to know is.... did they leave their dressing room clean and tidy? Credit to them for not performing over the penalty incident (and that could well have been given)

Credit to PSV, they had us sussed. Barnes particularly (so don't be too hard on him) They let him go outside but where waiting in number when he turned in. They defended well generally without there being anything too sophisticated about it, simply bodies. I assumed Lookman was coming on for Barnes because he was drawing a blank. I personally would have hooked Barnes and left Nacho on. Nacho had a good game and his comedy moments were few. A couple of chances he could have done better with, sure, but otherwise good. Some of his link up and passes around the area was excellent. There's a baller there if he could just keep it together. With them being so defensive, it's difficult to know how effective they can be attacking. They certainly showed in patches that they are a genuine threat. It'll be interesting to see what balance they strike at theirs. They will have to come at us more and in doing that might give us more of a chance. The tie is certainly not dead. That said, we've missed out best chance I feel. It's advantage PSV and we'll have to be a little bit more savvie up front to win.

Chronically poor 2nd half after so much promise. We should have had this tie dead and buried. We've got our work cut out at theirs. Any chance Vards is back?

We've looked superb on occasions, we really should be winning this tonight - not only the game but the tie, we've had the chances. Can't be complacent though, they're quick and if we get sloppy we could be chasing the game instead.

Being called an enigma is no bad thing and is certainly not a criticism. Personally, I think it kinda endearing. I might shake my head at a Nacho miscontrol or offside but I'm laughing at the same time. It's impossible to not like the guy. It can go in off his backside (and has hasn't it?) for all I care, he gets goals and that's why he's there. That said, if we get a decent offer for him I reckon we'd let him go... now would we get that offer?
