I've been diagnosed with stage 4 (i.e. bad) periodontitis. A bit of a shock really as I only went to the dentist with a tooth ache! He told me I had lost bone in my jaw, and the tooth was unstable - the ache I felt was the tooth moving. They referred me to a periodontist who did their tests and gave me the news. They'll get rid of the infection but I'll probably have to have several teeth removed - and it doesn't sound like a particularly comfortable treatment plan before then. I had no idea it was as bad as it is. I've not had bleeding gums, bad breath or inflamed gums (the usual telltale signs). My dental hygiene might not be text book (and I've since learnt that most people's isn't) but it's certainly not neglectful. I've used a sonic toothbrush daily for 15 years, and I've had a couple of fillings in my entire life. That said, oral hygiene is but one factor; not that I smoke or am diabetic but there can be a genetic component too. Whatever, however it's come about, I've got it (though apparently I'm by no means alone) It's been an eye opener reading about it, and about oral health generally; periodontitis is linked to a number of other illnesses including cardiac & respiratory problems, even Alzheimer's. I guess I'm lucky in that it's the first serious medical intervention I've needed in my 60 years on the planet but it's nonetheless a kicker.

I didn't know she was from Leicester. A superb player, I was really impressed with her kicking.

"Everton fan to Liverpool legend" Did I hear that right?

So this is what exciting football looks like.
-
7 minutes of it too. We're obviously improving.
-
Two teams dead on their feet.

I don't think BR will overly care if we bore the arse off of the home viewing fan. We don't look in any kind of trouble, we're holding them whilst at a canter. Wel up the anti as needed to take the points. Except we won't. And they'll score in the 89th minute.

The very definition of 'on the beach'!

They're rubbish and this is pants. Real end of season stuff. Suits me.

His phone probably is though. Well, probably an iPhone in truth, but you get the point. Wonderful thing is communication technology. Not to mention shed loads of dosh to visit family and friends for a couple of days!

Indeed. The very worrying thing (as shown by the article) is that Le Pen talks a good game; she can sound left (ish, head scarves comments aside) and that is very very appealing to many. People are feeling the pinch and giveaways are understandably enticing. That talk is just that though and lacks credibility. I hope the good people of France see through it, or as least realise that, even if elected, Le Pen will have next to no chance of making her talk a reality.

LCFC 1-1 Everton (A) Post Match Thread

I think you're supposed to be happy with a point away from home. Well, in the old days anyway. But how can you be happy with throwing points away? Time and again. That was another game where we had the chances to kill it of well before extra time loomed. And on that, I wish we'd stop this 'game management' thing of slowing the game down, i.e. time wasting - call it what it is. Because, by cripes, we do it big time. Kasper was doing it as early as the 1st half. It just winds up the opposition fans, motivates the opposition players (it's arrogant) and creates that final 5 minute (plus inevitable minutes of extra time) cauldron that we simply cannot handle. We're creating a rod for our own backs doing it, and it must be a directive for m BR. I really wish we'd stop it. -
Everton vs LCFC - 20th April 2022 - Match Thread

We've only ourselves to blame. Pissing about leading to extra time and inviting pressure. -
Worst? Nah, you need to watch more football. I'll give you that it was both poor and dull but not one that is even in my considerations as a contender for worst.
-
I'm not too bothered tbh. That nature of it is a bit off a piss off because we did have the beating of them, but it was a poor game generally and one I'll rapidly forget. It's not season defining for me.
-
I didn't say they should have, just that it looked like we did. And, yes, we paid the price. Me, I'd have taken 1-1 as it was such a tedious game and, tbf, Newcastle have been good at home recently. Tbh, I wasn't expecting a win. Thursday was a heady night, even for those not playing, and today was back to the day job. I was expecting us to be at least a little flat and certainly for there to be some tired legs.
-
Would have taken 1-1. Problem is, they looked to have settled for it too.
-
Tbh, that suits me just fine.
-
Poor lambs.
-
Innit though? I'd take 1-1 just to end it.
-
...and Woods won't score...
-
I reckon Lookman's shot.
-
What's happened to Daka? Are we coaching his natural game out of him? He looks all lost as to what he's supposed to be doing.
-
Nah. If Nacho kicked a leg away the other week then that's what just happened to Kasper.
